The shingles still exhaust my body. So to be honest I am too tired to write much. I need to lay down. It was a very stressful week. Lot´s to do at work, lot´s to prepare with the band.

Acabo de llegar a casa después del curso de guitarra con el profesor Carlos, son dos horas de 2 a 4 que no me pierdo ni estando enferma, pues su contenido y didáctica al enseñar son maravillosos, me encantan sus clases.

Esta semana me he sentido mal con alergia nasal, rinitis, pero estoy por creer que es un virus porque adicional a los estornudos y rinorrea tengo dolor de cabeza, pecho y espalda y una tos seca así que es probable que sea un virus, por eso falté a la clase de ayer de flauta dulce y solfeo. Hoy aunque tenía quebrando fui a clases de guitarras porque el profesor nunca repite una clase y la información que da siempre es valiosa.

Entre los puntos que dio hoy ejercicios de arpegio y rasgueos en vals, nos dio el cifrado de la canción como llora una estrella y la puso de tarea para la semana que viene, la practicamos varias veces la primera parte, ya que son tres.

Desconocía lo antigua de esta canción y que habían sacado varias versiones de ella. La han cantado muchos artistas entre ellos el famoso cantante venezolano Ilan Chester. Fue creada en el año 1915 por el músico Antonio Carrillo y en un principio solo era una pieza instrumental de serenata, se inspiró en lo que sentía por una mujer que luego fue su esposa. Años más tarde le agregaron a la pieza “la letra” otros músicos y autores.

Es una canción hermosa tanto para tocarla como para interpretarla cantando, espero poder sacarla esta semana. Aparte de mí también asistieron dos compañeros que llegaron tarde, pero esta vez no fui la única.

He notado que están faltando mucho los jóvenes del sistema a sus clases, los profesores y el director del núcleo están preocupados por la baja matrícula, al parecer los problemas de racionamiento eléctrico y el alto costo de la vida nos afecta a todos a tal punto que las actividades diarias de esparcimiento están pasando a otro plano.

En mi caso tal vez mi salud se está viendo afectada, aunque no quiera: dormir mal, comer mal y la preocupación constante me tienen desconcertada, tanto que se suponía que esta publicación iba a ser alegre y hermosa y terminó siendo una catarsis. 🥲😔.

Buenos amigos, sin más que decir quiero superar esta meta y aprender esta canción esta semana, para eso debo practicar día y noche. Si lo logró grabó video.

I just got home from my guitar lesson with Professor Carlos. It’s a two-hour class from 2 to 4 p.m. that I never miss—not even when I’m sick—because the content and his teaching methods are wonderful; I love his classes.

This week I’ve been feeling under the weather with a stuffy nose and rhinitis, but I’m starting to think it might be a virus because, in addition to the sneezing and runny nose, I have a headache, chest and back pain, and a dry cough—so it’s likely a virus. That’s why I missed yesterday’s recorder and music theory class. Today, even though I was feeling run-down, I went to guitar class because the teacher never repeats a lesson, and the information he provides is always valuable.

Among the topics he covered today were arpeggio exercises and strumming patterns in waltz time; he gave us the chord chart for the song “Como Llora una Estrella” and assigned it as homework for next week. We practiced the first part several times, since there are three parts in total.

Nothing Here (Original Song)

Sometimes the world gets so damn heavy that all we can do is stop and breathe.

“Nothing Here” comes from a place I go in meditation. I imagine myself floating in the blackness of space, with no pressure, no expectations, no worries of the world. Nothing to figure out or carry. Just being.

This song started with chords and lyrics I wrote on my acoustic guitar. I hadn’t played in a while, and my fingers definitely let me know lol. Recording the acoustic parts took several days, sore fingers, and some stubborn determination. It wasn’t perfect, but I love what it became.

I used Suno to generate drums, bass, percussion, and a guiding guitar track beneath my own playing and vocals. Some of those generated guitar parts helped support the acoustic in the mix. Brian Grass did the final mix, bringing everything together beautifully. I also plan to share a full live acoustic performance of this song.

For the video, I created images with ChatGPT, animated them in Happy Horse, and built the sequence in Sony Vegas. Then I filmed myself performing against a black backdrop and blended that real footage with the animated scenes to bring this floating void to life.

This is a little space to put the weight down.

I admit that I admire this song, and for years it was among my favorites when it came to English-language ballads, but I didn’t take an interest in learning the translation until many years after seeing the movie. Dion’s exceptional performance is what allows us to keep swimming in the darkness, carried by the power of her voice.

[Music] Remembering how I discovered the band Rawayana and some of their songs [Esp/Eng]

I first heard the song “High” through my friend @morenow because we’d play it on all the Nftgamelatino community shows while we waited for more people to join so we could start the shows, and so, in one way or another, it became kind of our anthem, and we started talking about some of the latest tracks by the band Rawayana.

I didn’t really understand why “High” caught my attention, and it’s one of the songs of theirs I listen to the most. I don’t know if it’s the beat, that bassline, that sound—it starts off kind of laid-back and then gradually picks up steam—and the lyrics are a little strange, but it’s kind of catchy, and the chorus has stuck with me, so I can’t stop singing it.

Conocí la canción de High por mi amigo @morenow porque en todos los programas de la comunidad de Nftgamelatino la colocábamos mientras esperábamos que más personas se integraran para dar inicio a los programas y así, de una forma u otra, se volvió como nuestro himno y fuimos conversando sobre alguno de los temas más recientes que tiene la banda Rawayana.

No entendí mucho por qué me llamó la atención "High", y es uno de los temas que más escucho de ellos y no sé si es el ritmo, ese bajo, ese sonido, que inicia como con flojera y luego poco a poco va agarrando nivel y la letra es un poco extraña, pero es como pegajosa y se me ha quedado el coro y entonces no paro de cantarla.

It's a shame I can't share some of the songs because I'm getting some kind of error, but I assure you that this band is really good, and they have songs to suit a variety of tastes, although I think some are better than others.

Also, I just remembered why I’ve gotten hooked on some of this band’s songs: I once had the good fortune to travel to a place where I saw them perform live for the first time. At the time, I didn’t know them—I didn’t know who they were—and some of the melodies stuck with me, but I didn’t know how to look up the songs on YouTube, so I ended up getting to know them better later on thanks to my good friend @morenow.

On this occasion, I'd like to review a feeling we've all experienced at some point in our lives. Of course, The Beatles, with all the fame and fortune they accumulated in almost eight years of their artistic and professional career, were not exempt from experiencing it on different occasions. I'm referring to the feeling of being down, of not being 100%, and ultimately, feeling sad and distressed. In fact, the song I'm presenting today is called "I'm Down."

This song wasn't part of any specific album, but it belongs to the sessions for the album Help!; in fact, it was the B-side of that single. However, it was never included on that record, nor was it part of the soundtrack for the 1965 film Help! It did, however, play a prominent role in the legendary concert at Shea Stadium in New York, where Lennon played the organ with his elbows—imagine that! Hahaha. In fact, many music critics agree, and I also think so, that Lennon lost his mind and went completely wild for part of that concert. It's hilarious to see him jumping, leaping, and perching on the electronic organ during that memorable concert, which, by the way, was one of the first to be held in that type of sports venue. It's estimated that there were more than 54,000 people there.

This song was recorded in June 1965 and is credited to Lennon and McCartney, although it was written almost entirely by Paul, who was inspired by Little Richard. It has that unmistakable rock and roll flavor, like other gems of theirs. I think Paul composed it perhaps because of a heartbreak or betrayal; possibly, but the central theme of the song is one of sorrow, anguish, and sadness. Coincidentally, the A-side of the single is "Help!", which also addresses that discontent and sorrow over various life situations, so common at any stage of our lives.

We can see them playing the following instruments and characteristics: Paul on lead vocals and bass, John on electric organ, George on lead guitar and backing vocals alongside Lennon, and Ringo on drums. It was produced by George Martin and recorded at EMI Studios in London.

"Yesu Duste Cetona" is a powerful song from the Hausa dialect in Nigeria which means "Jesus the rock of my salvation". I can't succinctly describe my immense feeling whenever I'm listening to this song. This is song that has blessed lives and still blessing lives. The calmness of the song, the slow rhythm, the rich wordings of the song makes it completely heartwarming and interesting to listen.

Every time is a good time to play the song but whenever you're sober or have hit rock bottom, this is the very best song that ignites you're feeling and transforms your weakness, sadness and broken heart into hope, strength and comfort. Jesus is indeed the rock of my salvation, He gave me life, He sees tears that fall, I'll rely on Him, I'll depend on Him, He has given me a new song, He has remembered me and He'll clean up my tears, this is generally the context of the song.

Most times we fall, break and shatter. Nobody has it all put together and that is why it's paramount to have somewhere to lean on, someone you know you can fall back to and never be disappointed. I don't know what you believe in that can never fail you but that has to be a divine nature because flesh and blood is never eternal but God is. I have a lot of reasons to look upon the cross for my salvation because on the cross I found a new Life in Christ Jesus. He that is perfect and conceived from the seed of the father has made me perfect and whole again.

My personal experience with the Rock of my salvation (Jesus) is so long and won't be able to share all. I have several times hit rock bottom in decision making that pertains to my life and He comes through, very tough decisions but I was never alone. Most of the times I can't tell how these decisions comes I just find myself at the better end of the whole situation. The devil almost had me but He turned it! He saved me and that's why I will continue to acknowledge God's presence in my life as the Rock of my salvation.

Every type of art can touch us in some way, and speaking specifically about music (since today is its International Day), I thought about writing this text to spread some thoughts about this art that recognizes no limits, and about this particular day. Established in 1975 by the International Music Council (through a proposal by violinist Yehudi Menuhin, who at the time was the president of the UNESCO council), the day when all styles of music are celebrated for vehemently promoting peace and unity among peoples (at least in theory).

All musical branches and expressions have achieved some kind of recognition around the world, and although some musical genres have become more popular over the years, the love for music is expressed through the most different kinds of manifestations. You may not know the fully technical details about the production of this type of art, but you have certainly already been particularly impacted by its weight in your life (in moments when the words in an ordinary speech were not able to help). The power of music is transcendental... In any line.

Socially, culturally or politically, music plays an essential role in our lives. Whoever makes music, whoever consumes music, is literally producing / cultivating a sonic art that crosses generations and geographical barriers within a context that cannot even be measured. The sensory experience (and it depends on how this art is absorbed by people) can affect us physically and psychologically, and scientifically speaking, we know that the effects of music are diverse within its magnitude. Anywhere, there is always some music being played.

Whether as part of an old or modern production process, simple or sophisticated, with rustic or ornate lyrics, music can access spaces never imagined. The power of the message in each one of them reaches people all over the world, but it is how those same people react to what they hear that ends up making all the difference. The reception automatically becomes personalized, because from the moment each listener connects their own experiences (and feelings) to that “product”, the consequences of this consumption become branched.

A song is never just a song when you attribute personal value to what is being heard. You have to want to dive into the sonic proposal to understand its meaning. The sound that nurtures different kinds of feelings in each of us can be personified through texts, voices and melodies... And in the midst of this entire process, we create specific connections that lead us to a differentiated appreciation. In short, music is not just noise or a package of words, it is one of the strongest ways to express concepts, ideas, thoughts and feelings.

**Música - Alimento del alma humana.**

Todo tipo de arte puede tocarnos de alguna manera, y hablando específicamente sobre la música (ya que hoy es el Día Internacional de la misma), pensé en escribir este texto para difundir algunos pensamientos sobre este arte que no reconoce límites, y sobre este día en específico. Instituido en 1975 por el International Music Council (a través de una propuesta del violinista Yehudi Menuhin, quien en aquella época era el presidente del consejo de la UNESCO), el día donde todos los estilos de música son celebrados por promover vehementemente la paz y la unión entre los pueblos (al menos en teoría).

Todas las vertientes y expresiones musicales han conseguido algún tipo de reconocimiento alrededor del mundo, y aunque algunos géneros musicales se hayan vuelto más populares a lo largo de los años, el amor por la música se expresa a través de los más diferentes tipos de manifiestos. Puede que ni siquiera conozcas los detalles totalmente técnicos sobre la producción de este tipo de arte, pero seguramente ya te has sentido particularmente impactado por el peso de esta en tu vida (en momentos donde las palabras en un discurso común no fueron capaces de ayudar). El poder de la música es trascendental... En cualquier línea.

KAGE - Feel The Anger

KAGE is a Slovenian band from Ilirska Bistrica that was active between 2013 and 2017. After their lead singer's death in 2017, they now perform only occasionally.

The band is deeply rooted in the local alternative and underground scene and traces its origins to the MKNŽ rock club.

They have not released a full-length album, but demos and live recordings are available.

All members are respected as studio musicians and also play in other bands.

They play crossover, a genre blend of rap metal, hardcore, and stoner rock.

The song “Feel The Anger” was featured on Radio Student’s Club Marathon in 2015.

Hoy quiero expresar un profundo agradecimiento a la Orquesta Sinfónica por el voto de confianza tan grande que han tenido al otorgarme en comodato un chelo durante este periodo vacacional. Llegué a la orquesta, me inscribí, y en apenas dos semanas ya tenía el instrumento en mis manos. Sé que esto fue posible gracias al conocimiento y la pasión que tengo por la música, pero también porque recuerdan y guardan un gran aprecio por aquella "María chiquita" que hace 6, 7 u 8 años ya tocaba en esta misma orquesta, y ese cariño sigue intacto.
Durante todo el mes de agosto, este chelo fue mi compañero inseparable en casa. Aunque las vacaciones fueron de casi mes y medio, el tiempo exacto con el instrumento fue de un mes, y lo aproveché al máximo. Practiqué absolutamente todos los días, incluso los fines de semana que se suponían de descanso —pero es que la música me encanta y seguía tocando—, logrando terminar mi nueva sesión con el chelo. Me da una ligera tristeza tener que entregarlo ahora, porque juro que quería tenerlo en casa por siempre, pero las reglas son claras y hay que cumplirlas. Y es curioso y hasta irónico notar cómo, cuando uno experimenta un poco de crecimiento, nunca faltan las personas con tiempo de sobra y la lupa puesta en cada movimiento que haces, pendientes de si lo haces o no. Por eso, con los años he optado por ser sumamente selectiva con mi entorno y mis amistades, e incluso con la propia familia. Disfruto compartir lo que hago con el violonchelo y mis logros en la universidad porque me gusta construir un bonito registro de recuerdos y que mi esfuerzo sea reconocido. No me voy a cohibir de mostrar este tipo de experiencias; al contrario, me nutren, me alimentan y me sanan, porque la música tiene el poder de sanar aquello que de otro modo quedaría intacto.
Y a propósito de miradas ajenas, no faltaron los comentarios de ciertas amistades universitarias con vidas demasiado desocupadas, quienes al verme con el instrumento lanzaban preguntas impertinentes como: «Ay, ¿te compraste un chelo?», presuponiendo situaciones económicas o compras extravagantes sin tener la menor idea de la realidad. En lugar de indagar con una curiosidad sana, prefieren especular y emitir juicios erróneos. Para quienes desconocen cómo funciona esto, es oportuno aclarar que un comodato no es un regalo ni significa que el instrumento pertenezca a uno por siempre; se otorga por una temporada específica, que en mi caso fue por un mes de vacaciones.
Lo más importante que se debe comprender es que esto conlleva una responsabilidad absoluta. Cuando te confían un bien de esta naturaleza, la orquesta ya no asume los desperfectos; si se rompe una cuerda o sufre cualquier daño, uno como músico es el único responsable de su reposición y reparación. Por eso valoro tanto la confianza que depositaron en mí, ya que siempre he estado atenta y cuidándolo con el máximo respeto. Todo esto se complementa con el compromiso constante de asistir a las clases con el profesor, un espacio fundamental donde no solo se pule la técnica y se aprovechan clases extras, sino que una vez a la semana nos orientan en el mantenimiento, la limpieza de las cuerdas, el uso adecuado de la perruvia y todo lo necesario para su óptimo cuidado.
Tener la dicha de firmar un comodato con tu nombre y tu ubicación también impone deberes inquebrantables, como el compromiso de asistir todos los días, de lunes a viernes de 4:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m., al ensayo general con la orquesta. No hay excusas que valgan, y menos siendo estudiante universitaria; para trascender y convertirse en un buen músico, el entrenamiento debe ser diario. Aunque hoy me corresponda entregar el chelo, seguiré acudiendo a la orquesta todos los días, como siempre lo he hecho, con la misma disciplina y devoción. Gracias infinitas a la institución por esta oportunidad, por creer en mí y por recordarme por qué la música es el motor de mi vida. ¡Seguimos adelante!
