White and everything in between.</p> <center><p><strong>Suddenly the mountains looked different.</strong></p> <p></p> </center> This is my entry for #monomad challenge. All the clouds were passing over the ridge where entire landscape changed. That is <strong>SILENCE</strong> . Durante mi caminata, me detuve a observar unas aves que jugaban tranquilamente en el mar, manteniendo una distancia respetuosa para poder fotografiarlas. Estos amigos emplumados ciertamente saben disfrutar de los encantos del océano; en todas mis visitas a este lugar, esta fue la primera vez que vi tantos pelícanos juntos: revoloteando y, tras realizar diversas acrobacias aéreas, nadando muy relajados en el agua.</p> <p>Después de observarlos durante unos minutos, tomé el sendero que marca la entrada a la playa; este presenta letras blancas sobre fondo azul y está decorado con imágenes de diversos animales marinos. Al igual que en otras playas, se han instalado refugios tradicionales con techo de paja a lo largo de la orilla, lo que permite a los visitantes disfrutar de la agradable brisa marina y del sonido de las olas mientras se protegen del sol. El camino también cuenta con bancos de piedra y hormigón donde los visitantes pueden reunirse y socializar. En ese preciso momento, una embarcación realizaba su recorrido y varias personas llegaban a la playa. During my walk, I paused to watch some birds playing peacefully in the sea, keeping a respectful distance so I could photograph them. These feathered friends certainly know how to enjoy the ocean's charms; in all my visits to this spot, this was the first time I had seen so many pelicans together—fluttering about and, after performing various aerial acrobatics, swimming quite relaxed in the water.</p> <p>After watching them for a few minutes, I took the path marking the entrance to the beach; it features white lettering on a blue background and is decorated with images of various marine animals. As with other beaches, traditional thatched-roof shelters have been set up along the shore, allowing visitors to enjoy the pleasant sea breeze and the sound of the waves while staying protected from the sun. The path also features stone and concrete benches where visitors can gather and socialize. Just then, a boat was making its rounds, and several people were arriving at the beach. During my visit to Cochaima Beach, I took the opportunity to watch the sunset; I must say the views were incredible, with the sky and the sea both bathed in a lovely golden hue. Seeking an angle that would capture the mountain, the sea, and the sand, I walked a fair distance along the beach and took several photographs—all of which I really liked.</p> <p>I couldn't choose a favorite, as each one captures a different moment of the sunset and the way the light played upon the water. The first shot shows part of the mountain surrounding the beach—which is also part of Mochima National Park—while another focuses on a beautiful boat near the mountain, with the sun's reflection creating a sort of golden path across the sea. This important thoroughfare provides access to the Antonio José de Sucre Barracks and also connects to the highway leading to Cumanacoa. When this bridge was built, the demolition work damaged the structure of the Convent of San Francisco; its interior wattle-and-daub walls collapsed, which is why only ruins remain today—the only part still standing is its façade.</p> <center>  </center><center>  </center><center>  </center><p>An interesting fact is that in 2012, a second, identical bridge was built very close to the original to help ease traffic congestion, as the strain on the system was evident with only one lane in each direction in a city entering the second millennium.</p> <center>  </center><center>  </center><center>  </center><p>This bridge spans the Manzanares River; from there, you can see the calm waters and the lush trees all around. Desde el primer momento me llamó muchísimo la atención y decidí postularme. Uno de los requisitos principales era redactar una carta explicativa. En ella, expresé mi profundo deseo de aprender sobre esta rama de la zoología y lo mucho que significaba para mí recibir capacitación en una institución tan prestigiosa. El IVIC es un lugar fascinante, un espacio inmenso dedicado por entero a la ciencia, donde hacen vida los mejores especialistas e investigadores de Venezuela. ¡A los pocos días recibí el correo de aceptación y la emoción fue indescriptible!</p> <p>El taller estaba estructurado en siete días intensos: cinco días de teoría y un fin de semana de práctica en campo. Al llegar el primer día a las instalaciones, quedé completamente encantada. Me encontré rodeada de personas sumamente inteligentes, intelectuales, científicos y apasionados de la investigación. It caught my attention immediately, and I decided to apply. One of the main requirements was to write a motivation letter. In it, I expressed my deep desire to learn about this branch of zoology and how much it meant to me to receive training at such a prestigious institution. IVIC is a fascinating place, a massive space entirely dedicated to science, home to Venezuela's top specialists and researchers. A few days later, I received the acceptance email, and my excitement was beyond words!</p> <p>The workshop was structured into seven intense days: five days of theory and a weekend of field practice. When I arrived on the first day, I was completely enchanted by the facilities. I found myself surrounded by highly intelligent people, intellectuals, scientists, and researchers. Between last year and this one, I've been able to visit other cities in Spain, and I also traveled with my boyfriend on vacation to my home country (I still need to show you photos from that trip). This year I have started exploring other countries in Europe. It was somewhat quick and exciting, a backpacking kind of trip, a few very well-spent days where you walk a ton and your little feet ache, but you feel completely satisfied and happy, as if you had lived several days in a single one.</p> <img src="https://i.ecency.com/DQmRxGWRvQ9GtBbgVeEnMiK7d55jpSJnKGCkY9QWBYp6joH/1790881775886.jpg" /><p>On this occasion, I'm showing you photos of a beautiful, perfect walk on a summer afternoon by Lake Zurich.</p> <p><img src="https://i.ecency.com/DQmPWaapWqFQYpfCaHSMUwanNKL9ncyfGcendQ926J2Rt1T/1790882303279.jpg" /><img src="https://i.ecency.com/DQmQVJhwsyT9jk8GSHnRxQLg7SpcpFz69hWhwAxe7DiZhv1/1790882302887.jpg" /></p> <p>Throughout the entire walk, we could hear artists playing live music while we enjoyed the breeze and the last rays of the strong sun we had that day.</p> <img src="https://i.ecency.com/DQmUMqoDt8NhZH8Ca5VaPLeNEarWfoQJokoFA8DFbmgUNU6/1790881952869.jpg" /><p>We saw many birds swimming or taking their energy-purifying baths right there at sunset. Further ahead, where there is grass, there were many young people and families gathered having a barbecue, listening to music, and playing with balls or frisbees.
