Guacuco is a much-loved area, and its name has a simple yet beautiful story behind it. This avenue and the beach are named after a small clam called a guacuco, which used to be abundant along this entire stretch of coastline. Even today, if you’re lucky, you can find them buried in the sand or on the seafloor, like little natural treasures that remind us of our island’s marine wealth.

Les quiero compartir estas hermosas fotos que logre capturar el viernes pasado, no había tenido la oportunidad de detallarlas bien ya que esta semana he estado bastante ocupada, pero hoy revisando mi galería las encontré y recordé que ese día el cielo me regalo hermosas vistas las cuales pude aprovechar con el IPhone que me prestaron, debo decir que ese celular tiene una cámara muy buena, al menos mejor que la de mis otros dos celulares.

I want to share these beautiful photos with you that I managed to take last Friday. I hadn’t had a chance to look at them closely yet because I’ve been pretty busy this week, but today, while going through my gallery, I found them and remembered that the sky treated me to some beautiful views that day, which I was able to capture with the iPhone someone lent me. I have to say that phone has a really good camera—at least better than the ones on my other two phones.

Ese viernes, el cielo comenzó desde temprano a verse hermoso, esta foto la tome a las 6 AM cuando mi hijo y yo nos levantamos para prepararnos para ir a la escuela, me tome un momento para tomar varias fotos, pero esta fue mi favorita, mi hijo estaba asustado diciendo: “Cuidado se te cae el IPhone por la ventana” jaja, cuando tomo estas fotos saco el celular hasta que no se vean las rejas de ventana y obtener una mejor toma. En esta foto el color y las nubes en esa forma tan peculiar que investigando en internet se llaman nubes altocumulus, me parecieron perfectas y simplemente una composición hermosa.

That Friday, the sky looked beautiful from early on. I took this photo at 6 a.m. when my son and I got up to get ready for school. I took a moment to snap a few photos, but this one was my favorite. My son was worried, saying, “Be careful—you’re going to drop your iPhone out the window!” Haha, When I take these photos, I hold my phone out until the window bars are no longer visible to get a better shot. In this photo, the colors and the clouds—with that peculiar shape that, after looking it up online, I found out are called altocumulus clouds—seemed perfect to me and simply made for a beautiful composition.

Ese día hizo bastante sol, durante el mediodía no tome fotografías, no fue sino hasta el atardecer que comencé nuevamente a tomar fotos ya que se veía una hermosa mezcla de tonos fríos y cálidos justo encima de mi ventana y debía capturar ese momento.

It was quite sunny that day; I didn't take any photos at noon. It wasn't until sunset that I started taking pictures again, because I could see a beautiful blend of cool and warm tones right outside my window, and I had to capture that moment.

Pero lo mejor fue la noche, la luna estaba enorme y brillante, se veía de tonalidades cálidas mientras el cielo se veía azul oscuro muy profundo, quede impresionada con el zoom de este IPhone y lo bien que se ve la luna, no parece una imagen tomada con un telescopio pero para ser un celular esta bastante bien, de hecho, hubiese deseado haber tenido este celular a mano cuando paso el eclipse hace unas semanas atrás, probablemente se hubiese visto muchísimo mejor.

But the best part was the night—the moon was huge and bright, with warm hues, while the sky was a very deep, dark blue. I was impressed by this iPhone’s zoom and how clear the moon looks. It doesn’t look like a photo taken with a telescope, but for a cell phone, it’s pretty good. In fact, I wish I’d had this phone on hand when the eclipse happened a few weeks ago—it probably would have looked much better.

Fue muy importante para mi por fin conseguir una buena toma de la luna ya que siempre he querido fotografiarla sin que parezca un bombillo y eso es un poco difícil con mis celulares de gama baja-media jajaja. En fin, espero que les gusten las fotos.

It was really important to me to finally get a good shot of the moon, since I've always wanted to photograph it without it looking like a light bulb—and that's a little tricky with my low- to mid-range cell phones, hahaha. Anyway, I hope you like the photos.

Beautiful sunset views at Cochaima Beach (Eng - Esp)

Sunset is one of my favorite times of day, and I truly enjoy watching the beautiful colors that paint the sky as the sun goes down. During my visit to Cochaima Beach, I took the opportunity to watch the sunset; I must say the views were incredible, with the sky and the sea both bathed in a lovely golden hue. Seeking an angle that would capture the mountain, the sea, and the sand, I walked a fair distance along the beach and took several photographs—all of which I really liked.

I couldn't choose a favorite, as each one captures a different moment of the sunset and the way the light played upon the water. The first shot shows part of the mountain surrounding the beach—which is also part of Mochima National Park—while another focuses on a beautiful boat near the mountain, with the sun's reflection creating a sort of golden path across the sea. Finally, there is a view featuring the mountain, waves stirred by the wind, and the sun painting the sky gold, creating a truly stunning and incredible scene.

El atardecer es una de mis momentos favoritos del día y realmente disfruto observar los hermosos colores que pintan el cielo, cuando el sol se está ocultando, durante mi visita a playa Cochaima aproveché la oportunidad para observar el ocaso del sol, debo decir que las vistas son increíbles, el cielo se tiñó de un lindo color dorado al igul que el mar, buscando un ángulo que pudiera abarcar la montaña, el mar y la arena, avancé varios metros por la playa y tomé alguna fotografías que me gustaron todas.

No pude elegir mi favorita, pues cada una de ellas refleja diversos momentos del ocaso del sol y su incidencia en el mar, en la primera se aprecia parte de la montaña que rodea esta playa y que también forma parte del parque nacional Mochima, luego enfoqué un hermoso bote cerca de la montaña y el reflejo del sol formó una especie de caminería en el mar, a continuación se observa la montaña las olas movidas por el viento y el sol pintando de dorado el cielo ofreciendo hermosas e increíbles vistas.

这里赞比亚的当地工人，自然属于有色皮肤的人群，他们的习惯是拿到工资后的第二天，不来工作的。据说昨天是他们的工资到账日子，为什么是据说的，因为昨天下班的时候，工人查询还没到账，可能会晚上到账吧。

我们微信工作群里，领导已经发通知了，今天休息。友哥就决定，今天大xi，是大洗，把床单被罩都洗一下。

友哥不习惯使用公共的洗衣机，友哥是手洗的。早上起来就把床单被罩撤下来，泡上。吃完早饭后，再揉洗出来。

说到早饭，有小插曲呢。今天休息嘛，早饭不是以前的时间点了，当地帮厨来得晚。领导过来吃早饭，食堂还没开门的。领导就回宿舍了。大约不到半小时后，当地帮厨来了，做了早饭，其实就是煮粥，热一下昨天晚上准备好的饼。然后就开饭了。

友哥吃完，洗涮床单被罩。晾晒的时候，友哥晾晒到了后面，前面阳光的地方，不知道是昨晚没收的，还是有人捷足先登了。

Esta celebración se podría decir que es una tradición en la familia, ya que desde que yo era una bebé he visitado el valle en conjunto con todos los vecinos (los cuales en su mayoría son mis tíos y primos) y amigos de la familia. No les puedo contar cómo fue que empezó todo porque no lo sé con exactitud; solo sé que ya van como 30 años seguidos en donde la familia en general visita el valle en esa fecha. Yo tengo pocos recuerdos, a decir verdad, ya que cuando éramos bastante (ya hoy en día muchos familiares están fuera del país y son pocos los que quedan acá en la isla), yo estaba más pequeña y, a decir verdad, no recuerdo mucho en general, pero me ayudo con las fotos y algunas cosas que me cuentan.

For the first time when I remember the road, it didn't get annoying, much less heavy, as was the case of the last time I went to the valley with my cousins that at that time I was on the verge of fainting. I don't remember very well why but I know it was very bad and this year when I found myself in the valley with my cousin the first thing I did was tell her that the road became calm and not heavy at all heavy at all to which she started joking with my almost fainting last time hahaha but well, it was left for the memory... the truth is that we didn't do much when we got to the valley other than rest from the walk and take pictures although I preferred to just observe and live the moment and not be glued to the phone taking photos (although I did take a few who I cheated hahaha)

por primera vez aue yo recuerde el camino no se me hizo fastidioso ni mucho menos pesado como fue el caso de la última vez que fui al valle con mis primas que para ese momento yo estaba al borde del desmayo no recuerdo muy bien porque pero se que estaba muy mal y este año cuando me encontré en el valle con mi prima lo primero que hice fue decirle que el camino se me hizo tranquilo y para nada pesado a lo que ella empezó a bromear con mi casi desmayo de la última vez jajaja pero bueno, quedó para el recuerdo… la verdad es q no hicimos mucho al llegar al valle más q descansar de la caminata y tomar fotos aunque yo preferí solamente observar y vivir el momento y no estar pegada al teléfono tomando fotos (aunque si tomé unas cuantas a quien engaño jajaja)

Hi Actifitters,

yesterday, after a week-long break, I finally got back to doing close-grip push-ups. Since I had managed to increase my performance on pull-ups the day before—also after a week off—I was optimistic that I’d succeed with the push-ups, too. But no such luck... across the five sets, I managed four fewer repetitions than last time.

But hey, it’s not a big deal. The main thing is getting back to regular training now. The progress will come naturally in time.

I skipped the cycling workout, but I did get in some elevation gain on my balance board instead. It’s been quite a while since I last used it. We’ll see if I end up with a nice case of sore calves, like usual.

Mission 80 (Day 96 = 86.7 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 kg / Total loss = 3.3 kg)

Unfortunately, I can't report a loss of weight again. Instead, I’ve gained 500 grams. It’s suspicious that I gained weight on the exact two days I resumed training. Is it possible that I’m retaining water and the weight gain is due to that? After all, I was actually watching my calorie intake.

A mix of walking and jogging with my wife is planned for today—or at least, that’s what she suggested. It remains to be seen whether she sticks to the idea; I’ll know more once she wakes up.

Knowledge behind the veil

Today, almost any knowledge is openly accessible at any time of the day or night which I diligently use, wanting to learn more about topics that interest me such as animal husbandry, poultry farming, gardening horticulture.

You could say that I like a sea sponge or a whale filter this information through myself like water like a planuton but there are topics that frankly speaking I spit out lol.

Yes, somehow I can’t start studying the topic of growing flowers.

The topic is extensive and I’m sure that it is interesting for someone, but I can’t force myself to dive into this topic deeply yet, with my head, as they say, in limbo.

If I could study everything related to beekeeping with passion for days on end, then when I think about flowers, I don’t have such passion.

No, I like flowers, I know a lot about them and I will definitely plant many of them on my plot of land, but the moments and nuances of their cultivation somehow don’t grab me.

Apparently I perceive knowledge through the stomach lol, I am mostly interested in what can be eaten later lol, and flowers are food for the soul.

I think that the time to study growing flowers will come when my garden is planted with vegetables, fruits will hang on the trees, and chickens, ducks and goats will run around the yard to the cheerful buzzing of bees.

There are some places where the colour feels almost unnecessary.

##### "One of them is Himalaya "

On the trails, I usually find myself surrounded by colours - All those deep valleys, blue skies, brown trails and even the deep green hills which disappear into the Himalayas with brilliant white snow.
But I took the colours away- Black. White and everything in between.

Suddenly the mountains looked different.

This is my entry for #monomad challenge. I photographed these picture on the way to Langtang Valley, Nepal.

In colour, these landscape can feel overwhelming but in monochrome, they looked much quieter. The absence of colour made my eyes wander towards the things that I might look on - texture of mountain's face, curved trails and even tiny figures beneath the sky.

Himalaya was constantly changing. All the clouds were passing over the ridge where entire landscape changed. Sunlight touched one mountain while other disappeared into shadows.

Light became the subject.

###### Grey clouds ###### Deep shadows ###### Bright ridges ###### White snow Himalaya began to look almost like sketches.

After all these photographed captured, I couldn't completely capture one thing. That is SILENCE . But it removed the noise of colour and left behind something quieter like shapes, texture, light and shadows.
These photographs are my attempts to remember the Himalaya as a collection of quiet moments.
