It shows the bow of the Costa Favolosa Genova, an Italian cruise ship. I took the photo from the "Dockland" pier.)

Hi Actifitters,

yesterday, after a week-long break, I finally got back to doing close-grip push-ups. Since I had managed to increase my performance on pull-ups the day before—also after a week off—I was optimistic that I’d succeed with the push-ups, too. But no such luck... across the five sets, I managed four fewer repetitions than last time.

But hey, it’s not a big deal. The main thing is getting back to regular training now. The progress will come naturally in time.

I skipped the cycling workout, but I did get in some elevation gain on my balance board instead. It’s been quite a while since I last used it. We’ll see if I end up with a nice case of sore calves, like usual.

Mission 80 (Day 96 = 86.7 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 kg / Total loss = 3.3 kg)

Unfortunately, I can't report a loss of weight again. Instead, I’ve gained 500 grams. It’s suspicious that I gained weight on the exact two days I resumed training. Is it possible that I’m retaining water and the weight gain is due to that? After all, I was actually watching my calorie intake.

A mix of walking and jogging with my wife is planned for today—or at least, that’s what she suggested. It remains to be seen whether she sticks to the idea; I’ll know more once she wakes up.

Daily HSBI raffle (The rules)

Congratulations @delowar41, you won today's share... it has already been sent.

If you also want to win a HSBI share simply leave a comment. The winner will be announced in the next report.

That's all for today.
Be kind to each other and keep moving!

I have been doing more cardio in the past few months than I have ever done in my life outside of high school and yet, I don't seem to get any faster. I think I have plateaued and there will have to be some sort of really difficult effort on my part in order to change this.

What has happened lately is that I am not really pushing myself on my runs but instead I try to maintain a pace that isn't painful for me and I don't really mind doing it. I have found a comfortable 5k pace where it really isn't a big deal for me to run that far and I always feel like I could do more once I am finished.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/normie.fitness/23yJiFkEUFm4dWsQeBuGcLKmhif9LJWfcfNqU9re6KcQpQKrp1WE4mXPHV5qhdijojKT8.png)
[src](https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/vector-illustration-happy-man-crossing-260nw-2725314569.jpg)

But I must admit that I am a bit on the disappointed side when I do finally finish a run and then cool down walk home.. Then later I will look at the stats on my app and realize that I am actually going slower than I was a few months ago.

It's disheartening but at the same time, I have stopped looking at my pace and instead just listen to my body because one of the most important things to me has always been that I have to find exercise for me that I don't hate doing, I don't loathe getting it started because it is a somewhat enjoyable experience.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/normie.fitness/23tRxWjyDbUJYKE3BX933tk8P6UCGSp74rZwkEu7PgVxaUQAA8BUeqmqqVgZMQA7ANqEi.png)

Still though, I kind of feel like I aught to be going faster than this, even if it is completely by accident.

Not that long ago I was chasing doing close to 6 min kilometers but I started to lose my desire to go running at all because it was so taxing on my body. I would frequently get sore afterwards and I had to negotiate with myself about whether or not I was going at all. The entire mantra and way of thinking behind "normie-fitness" is that I don't do things that I hate doing - that all of what I do is supposed to be something that while I might not look forward to it per se, I don't hate doing it either.

So I suppose I kind of set myself up to always end up in a fairly relaxed way of pacing myself.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/normie.fitness/Eo6BEMDJ3VKxvurYL4CXqdNLj1biJpo8G4MP2Pgcinh7vPWBfaxUZfmZabVbJcgpYqL.png)

I know that I could go faster than this and in the past I have gone faster than this despite the fact that my endurance is actually a lot better now than it was back then. Did I lose my drive? I don't think so. I think what has happened is that I have found something that I know I can bang out in 40 minutes and feel ok after a shower whereas the way I was going at it before was something that sometimes I would get dangerously overheated and the next time I was contemplating doing it, I would really struggle to get motivated to do so.

So maybe I am doing something right, even though I am not all that pleased with the results.

My heart rate isn't improving as much as I would like it to either though, and that is disappointing as well. Perhaps I should see a doctor about this situation because it doesn't make much sense to me that a guy that does 4-6 hours of cardio per week has such a terrible BPM.

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/normie.fitness/23tRtaFZVQkeLBa1Tf3Jw63NXamXJjFkzR2m3VUL7nvDkEPy7uRYMn3fVEg52Vu2J8PwT.png)

There's people that I know that are older than me, exercise less than me, and are not looking as in good of shape as I do that have their BPM max that is much lower than mine.

Regardless of this disappointing results I am going to keep doing what I am doing. In fact, I am about to go head out for another run in the dead heat of day right now. Maybe it will be better.

So cold for my morning swim, and also had a small run earlier before my treadmill run this afternoon. Something a little different with 60 minutes of building followed by 8 x 1 minute efforts.

About Me

I am an Aussie living in Auckland, New Zealand and I love swimming biking and running with my wife. I tell people "I wanna change the world, one run at a time".

Gaining Balance and Control. Today we have a movement session designed to help us reap the benefits of balance and body control. These exercises are extremely important because, as we practice them, they allow us to build up gradually, step by step, so we can master any movement we encounter. In short, when our bodies have mastered these elements, we can react more quickly to any situation that arises in our daily lives and thus avoid potential injuries. Additionally, this routine has a special bonus: it engages the entire lower body, leading to the comprehensive development and strengthening of those muscles. So, my friends, the idea is to start today with dynamic movements suitable for everyone; let’s make sure no one gets left behind—your body will thank you for it.

![1000559936.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/omarcitorojas/AKF9ny7tWhB1iLiW2wkh7o5WHGkzHeHo7bVvytzmRmwWfzkSRyW1LftEtmSWwyQ.png)Portada de mi Autoría Editada en/Cover of my Authorship Edited in [Canva](https://www.canva.com/es_419/)

Logos propiedad de/ logos owned by @hiveio, @fulldeportes

Warm-up Phase

When we are going to do any physical activity, it is always advisable, in fact, it should be a mandatory habit to do warm-up exercises. With them, we get the whole body in tune and reduce the possibility of acquiring any type of injury. Do not do sudden exercises without warming up first; do not risk your body by skipping a minute to warm up; come on, let's get active.

Calentamiento 1, CRUCE DE PIERNAS EN SALTO
Postura
Nos ubicamos de pie con piernas separadas más allá del ancho de hombros; manos en la cintura y pies en puntillas.

Warm-up 1, CROSS-LEG JUMP
Posture
Stand with your legs wider than shoulder-width apart; hands on your hips and on your tiptoes.

![1000559871.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/omarcitorojas/EqBdAaKu81SWGBkJ8a99tWUVEDcpUcrpCiGubCwCgkvL9GpsEPupwY2uoMrpB4kVfc1.jpg)

Execution
For 3 continuous minutes, we perform the following actions: we jump, bring our legs together, and cross them. We jump again to return to the starting position; finally, we jump once more to cross our legs, but this time we switch them—that is, the leg that was in front the first time goes behind on the second cross, and the leg that ended up behind goes in front on the second cross.

It made me hesitate on getting some things done which was frustrating as I had plenty to do. When I finally got to checking things off the list, the morning went quickly. As noon approach, I finally decided to get a PT session done and have my first full meal. I took a peak at work items to ensure things were being handled by the team which delayed me getting a couple of things done.

Before I knew it, it was time to get a full workout in so headed to the gym to arrive before the crowds. It worked well as I was in and out for a treadmill workout within an hour. I did more intense speed intervals to push to see the limits as I was focusing on sprints. I did not find my limit so it was fun to push a bit so will try to continue it in the coming weeks. Look forward to the weekend with plenty of things to do.

This report was published via Actifit app (Android | iOS).
