KAGE - Feel The Anger

KAGE is a Slovenian band from Ilirska Bistrica that was active between 2013 and 2017. After their lead singer's death in 2017, they now perform only occasionally.

The band is deeply rooted in the local alternative and underground scene and traces its origins to the MKNŽ rock club.

They have not released a full-length album, but demos and live recordings are available.

Ya entramos oficialmente en el mes de octubre y la verdad es que el tiempo se fue volando. Falta poquísimo para que se termine este año, y como es costumbre aquí en Venezuela y en muchísimos rincones de Latinoamérica, las emisoras de radio y los canales de televisión empiezan poco a poco a soltar esas gaitas y esa música decembrina que nos avisa que la Navidad ya casi está tocando la puerta.

We have officially entered the month of October, and the truth is that time has flown by. There is very little left before this year comes to an end, and as usual here in Venezuela and in many corners of Latin America, radio stations and television channels are starting to play those traditional holiday songs that let us know Christmas is right around the corner.

Hay una canción en particular que a mí me mueve todo por dentro. Se trata del clásico "Faltan cinco pa' las doce". Apenas suenan esas primeras notas en la radio, se me eriza la piel. Es un tema cargado de una nostalgia enorme porque, aunque nos invita a dar gracias, también nos trae a la memoria el recuerdo vivo de todos esos familiares fallecidos que ya no están presentes en nuestra mesa. En estos meses decembrinos es cuando más los extrañamos, cuando recordamos sus risas, sus abrazos en la cena de fin de año y los momentos felices que compartimos juntos.

There is one song in particular that moves me deeply inside. It’s the classic "Faltan cinco pa' las doce". As soon as those first notes play on the radio, I get goosebumps. It is a song loaded with huge nostalgia because, even though it invites us to give thanks, it also brings back the vivid memory of all those deceased family members who are no longer present at our table. During these holiday months, we miss them the most, remembering their laughter, their warm hugs at New Year's Eve dinner, and the happy moments we spent together.

Investigando un poco sobre la historia de esta joya musical, descubrí datos muy bonitos. La canción fue compuesta en el año 1963 por el músico y compositor venezolano Oswaldo Oropeza, pero quien le dio esa alma y la inmortalizó con su voz fue el famoso cantante y actor venezolano Néstor Zavarce. Desde el momento en que se lanzó al público a mediados de la década de los 60, se convirtió de inmediato en un himno infaltable para despedir el año. Lo curioso es que traspasó todas las fronteras y hoy en día se escucha con la misma fuerza en Colombia, Ecuador, México y casi toda América Latina.

Hoy, 1 de octubre, es el Día Internacional de la Música, como lo estableciera la UNESCO en 1975 (ver aquí)). Se me ocurrió escribir esta breves reflexiones muy personales acerca de ella.

“Esa cosa liviana, alada y sagrada”, decía Borges que era la caracterización platónica de la poesía. Podríamos trasvasarla a la música, pues sabemos que ambas tuvieron un origen único en la remota antigüedad. En lo personal, siento y aprecio a la música —diría, la que me gusta y llena— con esos caracteres. Hablo desde la música de antiguos griegos, de hindúes y sufíes, de la que en el Medievo, el Renacimiento y el Barroco llenaron las más altas composiciones (Hildegard von Bingen, Palestrina, Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Bach, Händel…), o la de nuestros aborígenes americanos.
Y con estos últimos entra un rasgo específico y diferenciador, quizás el ritmo africano, que se convertirá en la América anglosajona en blues y jazz, expresiones que también vuelan y nos comunican con algo sagrado que está en nuestro espíritu. Y ni hablar de los grandes del pop y el rock (inolvidables los Beatles y sus compositores individuales, la poesía cantada de Bob Dylan, el rock sinfónico de Pink Floyd, por citar solo unos).
Soy amante del buen bolero y la “salsa brava”, como se le ha dicho; nada de “salsa erótica”, más bien un remoquete. Desde el son cubano y montuno hasta las composiciones poéticas de Rubén Blades, las desgarradoras de Héctor Lavoe y la del saoco de Ismael Rivera.
En mi apreciación, pongo en duda –y me perdonan sus fans– esa producción musical que ha sido denominada reguetón (nada que ver con el reggae de Marley) y todas esas últimas derivaciones meramente comerciales en un sentido obsesivamente vulgar.
Por supuesto que asumiré mi condición de conservador, y si se quiere, discriminador. Pero la música no puede perder sus alas.

Sometimes the world gets so damn heavy that all we can do is stop and breathe.

“Nothing Here” comes from a place I go in meditation. I imagine myself floating in the blackness of space, with no pressure, no expectations, no worries of the world. Nothing to figure out or carry. Just being.

This song started with chords and lyrics I wrote on my acoustic guitar. I hadn’t played in a while, and my fingers definitely let me know lol. Recording the acoustic parts took several days, sore fingers, and some stubborn determination. It wasn’t perfect, but I love what it became.

I used Suno to generate drums, bass, percussion, and a guiding guitar track beneath my own playing and vocals. Some of those generated guitar parts helped support the acoustic in the mix. Brian Grass did the final mix, bringing everything together beautifully. I also plan to share a full live acoustic performance of this song.

For the video, I created images with ChatGPT, animated them in Happy Horse, and built the sequence in Sony Vegas. Then I filmed myself performing against a black backdrop and blended that real footage with the animated scenes to bring this floating void to life.

This is a little space to put the weight down.

Every type of art can touch us in some way, and speaking specifically about music (since today is its International Day), I thought about writing this text to spread some thoughts about this art that recognizes no limits, and about this particular day. Established in 1975 by the International Music Council (through a proposal by violinist Yehudi Menuhin, who at the time was the president of the UNESCO council), the day when all styles of music are celebrated for vehemently promoting peace and unity among peoples (at least in theory).

The power of music is transcendental... In any line.

Socially, culturally or politically, music plays an essential role in our lives. Hive como herramienta de transformación personal

Es la segunda vez que hago un vídeo de este estilo y de verdad que me gusta mucho como se ve, trabajando con las uñas y haciendo lo mejor que puedo, gracias a Hive he mejorado mucho mis habilidades no solo musicales sino también las de escritura y edición audiovisual.

Creo que eso es uno de los grandes efectos que se perciben a mediano y largo plazo, como de forma orgánica cada usuario de la Blockchain va desarrollando habilidades y destrezas que no sabía que tenía, cuando comencé en esto jamás pensé que recorrería tanto camino o que ganaría tanta experiencia en los campos antes mencionados.

Hoy en día me duele mucho ver el precio de Hive tan bajo y que mucha de la comunidad hispanohablante no trabajemos en pro de mejorar la blockchain, tal vez esta historia llegue pronto a su fin, sinceramente no quiero, si tuviera un millón de dólares definitivamente invertiría una parte de ese capital en Hive, porque creo firmemente que esta Blockchain tiene la capacidad de transformar el mundo.

Vals Nº2 (Andreina) - Antonio Lauro

Para cualquier guitarrista Venezolano, Antonio Lauro es una figura central dentro del repertorio solista, sus valses se interpretan en todo el mundo y son un legado inmaterial de nuestra nación.

Por ende, he comenzado esta serie de vídeos mostrando no solamente su interpretación en la guitarra sino su escritura musical, es un baluarte de nuestra música venezolana y para mí es una bandera que muestro al mundo.

El Vals Nº 2 es una obra hermosa, breve pero cargada del espíritu venezolano al lenguaje de Lauro, una cosa que me impresiona del maestro es su fuerza sonora, cada vals es elegante pero también contiene el espíritu de lucha de su compositor.

Hive as a tool for personal transformation

This is the second time I've made a video in this style, and I really love how it looks—working with what I have and doing the best I can. Thanks to Hive, I've greatly improved my skills not only in music, but also in writing and audiovisual editing.

I believe that's one of the great effects you notice in the medium and long term: how every user on the Blockchain organically develops skills and abilities they never knew they had. When I first started out, I never thought I would come this far or gain so much experience in these areas.

Nowadays, it hurts to see the price of Hive so low and to see that so many in the Spanish-speaking community aren't working toward improving the blockchain. Maybe this story will come to an end soon, though I genuinely hope it doesn't. If I had a million dollars, I would definitely invest part of it in Hive, because I firmly believe this Blockchain has the capacity to transform the world.

Waltz No. 2 (Andreina) - Antonio Lauro

For any Venezuelan guitarist, Antonio Lauro is a central figure in the solo repertoire. His waltzes are performed all over the world and represent an intangible legacy of our nation.

Because of this, I have started this video series showcasing not only his music played on the guitar, but also his musical composition. He is a cornerstone of our Venezuelan music and, for me, a banner I proudly show to the world.

Waltz No. 2 is a beautiful piece—short, yet filled with the Venezuelan spirit brought into Lauro's musical language. One thing that amazes me about the master is his powerful sound; every waltz is elegant, yet it also carries the fighting spirit of its composer.

Changes on Music Community || Cambios en la comunidad de Música

We are currently in the process of discussing several changes that we are going to apply to the Music Community. Now, as at the beginning of this initiative, the idea is to create a space for music, where music is the protagonist in its highest quality standards. That's why in the official presentation of the @music-community account, among the objectives, these three appeared first:

We want to achieve the highest, professional quality level in music.
We want to unite and get together all musicians, singers, producers, DJs, music businesses, and all music lovers and fans.
We want the best music on the blockchain to be available in this community.

In that same post it says: "Feel free to post stories around Music, post your videos singing, playing instruments and more."

En este momento estamos en proceso de discusión acerca de varios cambios que vamos a aplicar a la comunidad Music Community. Ahora, al igual que al comienzo de esta iniciativa, la idea es crear un espacio para la música, donde esta sea la protagonista en sus mayores estándares de calidad. Por eso en la presentación oficial de la cuenta @music-community, entre los objetivos, aparecían estos tres de primero:

This practice has taken us away from our first goal of "reaching the highest level of professional quality in music". But we understand that Hive is not only and exclusively for professional musicians, but for many musicians who are just starting to make their way in this field and that on many occasions they don't have the necessary equipment and resources to make a "professional production".

The problem is that many of the users who have been uploading their songs, do not show any interest in making a recording that points to the professional and we are talking about "attitude", we are talking about standing in front of a camera (even a cell phone) and assume the role of an "artist", of someone who respects the audiences that will see and listen to it.

Being a singer does not have to do with having a professional microphone and a professional video camera and a console where you can make your mixes, it has to do with respect for the music, for the profession, for the public.

Sin embargo, hubo un aspecto que no pudimos prever. Hay una actividad que disfrutan muchos amantes de la música que tiene que ver más con la diversión, que con la “música” como tal, son los karaokes. Esta es una práctica muy divertida, que cuenta con infinidad de seguidores en todo el mundo, en la cual lo más importante no es la “calidad musical”, sino la diversión. Por esa misma razón se puede ver que en muchos concursos puede ganar el peor cantante, porque quizá es el más divertido, el más gracioso.

Esta práctica nos ha alejado de nuestro primer objetivo de “alcanzar el máximo nivel de calidad profesional en la música”. Pero entendemos que Hive no alberga única y exclusivamente a músicos profesionales, sino a muchos músicos que están empezando a abrirse camino en ese campo y que en muchas ocasiones no cuentan con los equipos y recursos necesarios para hacer una “producción profesional”.

About "the" Music community

Fellow Hivers and Music fans - I created this music community already on the previous blockchain Steem to unite all lovers of music to have a group to share and engage around music of all genres. Given a lot content on the chain is just pushed out and lacks engagement I would love to change that a bit for the music community.

Your suggestions welcomed

What do you guys think could help to create more engagement here? I think we have already a good variety of sounds, of content types - what do you miss? What do you want to change or improve? All opinions are welcomed! I am also thinking of hiring folks here as moderator so feel free to drop in your application using hashtag #musicmod - thanks all for contributing and tell me your wished to make this community even more lively!

Asking other music communities for cooperation

One additional thought - why shall we not cooperate with other communities - for now we are split in various music groups - but music is such a great thing so we might simply work together to drive the beauty of this Art for the ears - feel also free to tag and list other music communities so we might discuss joint initiatives moving forward.
