I am a housewife, and alongside that, I am a student and a blogger.Today I've come among you to share a few words about the fun and games between my son and me, so let's get started.

I captured this beautiful picture a few days ago when Rihan was having his first semester exams at school in the morning. I was taking him to his madrasa; I enrolled him in the play class this year, and this was his first semester exam, so I was quite nervous about it. While walking on the road, I was explaining many things to him and giving him a lot of guidelines for the exam so that he could perform well in the exam hall. I took this picture along the way.

After becoming a mother, I started to understand and recognize the world in a new way. Struggling alone with a baby, I realized how difficult it is to manage everything and how painful it is to take care of them day and night. Now, I understand this deeply, yet what can we do? God's plans are much bigger than our own. Parents always endure hardship and sacrifice for their children, but it isn't the same for everyone.

Watching a child grow up in front of your eyes is a matter of luck; spending day and night with them is joyful. However, in many cases, I am missing these moments terribly because since joining as a teacher, I cannot devote time to him in that way after giving time to my job and tutoring. But whenever I am at home, I try to dedicate all my time to him. This child is our world, our light.

So I kind of pooped the bed last week...

I missed two days of content creation, so this week coming up there will be a bit less in the way of HIve being stacked.

Always hate missing days but I kind of sorta have an excuse....

I'm back on the road!

And the last few days I was spending it with my family because I'm not going to see them for almost 3 weeks now.

This is the blessing and curse of the job I do.

I love being on the road and my job allows me to do the Lord's work. The trade off is that I'm away from my family for a few weeks, multiple times a year.

So I'm coming to you live from....Nanton Alberta Canada. At the first truck stop on my route lol

The coffee i good, the w-fi is decent, and I'm settled in for the night. Let's roll up the sleeves and see how we did last week on chain :)

50,000 Hive Power

This past week there was a Hive Power Up Day, which allowed me to secure about 260 HP to my totals.

50,000 - 36,198 = 13,802 left to go

That's pretty awesome to see. And I created content every day the week before, so my totals were fantastic.

I also lowered my k/e ratio to sub 3.00...I went from 3.00 down to 2.95. Absolutely love to see it. And the price of Hive has been pretty stable, which I'm sure the green candle gang loves to see!

400 Subscribers To The Kingdom

Oh you absolutely LOVE to see it!

We added another two subs to the Kingdom bible community!

And we're on our way towards 400 subscribers as our new goal. Epic stuff :)

BBHO & Things

I haven't been as active on BBHO as I would have liked, simply because....I keep running out of voting manna LOL

My full upvote on #bbho is worth about 29-30 BBHO. Which means...It's going down lol Even though I power up 50% of everything I earn, it's getting less and less....Inflation is fun!

Things are looking great though on @hive-grove Did you guys see how much they paid out for their first 'season'. That's amazing stuff, and it looks quite promising. The APR on my investment is looking better and better.

I have to admit something too, I haven't been actively looking for leases much these days on Hive Engine. Mostly because, people are only offer leases under 8% APR. Way too low...

Just not worth it for me there, as I earn as much as that with my manual curation. But I'm still on the look out for anything above 8%

That's it for this week. Again, I'm on the road, so while I'm parked every night, I might be so tired that I have no energy to get content out there. I'll do my best though :)

Have a fantastic week on chain and crush each and every one of yours goals!

Some of you might know, if you follow this little blog of mine, of course, that I've been daily driving Omarchy Linux for over a month now. I could not help myself and installed the darn thing. It's been interesting, to say the least, and it still feels like home when I have to grab my Linux Mint box, but the OS is, in my opinion, pretty freaking cool.

Which is why I did what I did.

I made a little app using Lovable with a simple prompt. To be honest, it's hard to say I made it when I didn't even look at the code, but let's say, for the sake of expediency, that my agency made it become a thing.

I shared a blog post about it, and I found myself not only surprised by what the little one-prompt app could do, but also using it quite often.

A quick way to track your Hive portfolio from a progressive web app is nothing revolutionary, but then again, not all good ideas have to be.

I kept on thinking about my little portfolio friend when I thought: It would be awesome as a plugin on Omarchy.

Why not?

I finally convinced myself.

Now, here is the super cool part of it all.

Since Omarchy is basically married to AI, and it ships with documentation on its integrations, I asked Claude to explain to me how to make my Portfolio Web App into an Omarchy plugin.

And boom.

Next thing you know, not only was it working, I also used the agent to guide me through submitting my plugin to the Omarchy Marketplace.

After submitting it, I thought to myself: I bet there will be some back and forth here, because of course there will be.

It's a read-only app, but crypto is still, and rightfully so, associated with scams and whatnot, so I fully expected to have to defend the idea.

In less than thirty minutes, my submission was reviewed and then accepted into the Marketplace.

To say I was happy is an understatement.

What does this mean for Hive, for me, for the country, and more broadly for the conflict in the Middle East?

Not much, I'm sure.

But a man can smile about little victories, right?

To be honest, I hope this little venture of mine at the very least brings more eyes into the Hive ecosystem. In theory, it should.

But even if it doesn't: it was fun, it's useful, and why da hell not?

The kind of projects that somehow get better and better, and yet don't rely on crazy funding. Like 7zip, for example.

But they are the exception that cements the overall rule.

I think I first heard of IPFS back in the Steem days, maybe around the time DTube came about, maybe earlier, but not by much. I thought the idea was amazing back then, and although I did not grasp it completely, my participation in torrents made it somewhat understandable.

Seems obvious to me, even more so as I've gotten to play with IPFS for going on two years now, that although the promise is excellent, there are definite pitfalls we can't ignore forever.

The short of it is this:

IPFS has a scaling problem.

A small project, like storing NFTs for a game, seems to be the ideal use case. But I think all of us wanted, and I include myself here, for IPFS to rival industry standards. To stand toe to toe with S3, with AWS-type solutions.

Sadly, and I mean this sincerely, the biggest player in the game, the one company that figured out how to build a giant business model on top of IPFS, Pinata, is only able to do so because they are blending IPFS technology with centralized solutions.

To call Pinata IPFS is to describe half of it, and thus they prove my point yet again.

Now, it might be obvious to some, but it's worth mentioning that their solution to this scalability problem is proprietary. It's not like I can email them and get them to share their private repos with me.

But it's not too hard to imagine how they've solved it.

What is hard is building something like this from scratch.

Yes, even today with AI capabilities in play.

I'm sharing this because I think we are reaching a pivotal moment on 3speak.tv. Seems to me that some big changes have to happen, and somewhat soon too. More so if we want to move towards the big audiences.

Add to this little rant of mine the fact that Shipyard, the team who was behind the maintenance of IPFS' ecosystem, just called it quits.

I think the path forward is unavoidable.

After all, as I said in the beginning, there are only a handful of projects with tiny, decentralized, unfunded teams that actually deliver the goods.

And building on top of wishful thinking seems irresponsible.

‎Who ever wrote today's speech for baba, weda na baba write am deserves a little accolades for using the morphine and cancer anology perfectly as linking phrase Switching smoothly from the previous Nigeria to the one he inherited without mentioning any party's name or allowing the normal blame game to be so pronounced.
‎English teachers should listen to the speech and take something from it to teach their students when teaching the article / essay writing.
‎
‎My only concern for today's speech is the flow and playing around words to make the usual blame game not that pronounced. I think that has a name in figure of speech. English students over to you.
‎
‎That's my take on today's speech, I leave the dragging to those who can drag because them go still analyse the speech and drag him, but the dragging no get wia e touch if you don't get your voters card ready, go out there vote for individual rather than political party.
‎

**Fried rice I made at home**

I made this fried rice at home in the morning for breakfast. Just to note, I am three months pregnant, which makes me crave many things at this time. In the morning, I was unsure what to eat, so I used some leftover rice from last night and took an egg from the fridge, chopped an onion, and two green chilies, and some leafy greens. I sautéed them in oil with a little salt and quickly prepared this fried rice. Sometimes I crave a lot of delicious food, but in this condition, my body doesn't have much energy. The feeling of becoming a mother for the second time is different. Please pray for me.

Decoding CrossFit #10 — One movement, one unfortunate name and 35 kg over my head.

Welcome back to Decoding CrossFit, the series where I translate the workout board and occasionally discover that my body understands the movements better than my brain understands their names!

Today’s word is snatch.

Yes, that is really what it is called...The first time you see it written on a CrossFit board, it is perfectly reasonable to have two questions: What does that mean? And are we all just going to pretend that name is completely normal?

So, what is a snatch?

A snatch is an Olympic weightlifting movement in which the bar travels from the floor to overhead in one continuous motion.

There is no stop at the shoulders. The bar starts on the ground and, if everything goes according to plan, finishes above your head with your arms locked out.

That is what makes it different from a clean:

in a clean, the bar travels from the floor to the shoulders;

in a snatch, the bar travels from the floor directly overhead.

Same bar. Very different destination. And considerably less time to wonder what you are doing...

Power, squat and hang… because one version wasn’t enough

Just when the word snatch starts making sense, CrossFit adds more words to it. A power snatch is caught overhead with the knees bent, but without dropping into a full squat. A squat snatch is caught in a deep overhead squat before standing up with the bar. A hang snatch starts with the bar already off the floor, usually around the thighs or knees, instead of beginning from the ground.

The video I had saved appears to show a power snatch. I knew I was lifting a bar. I was fairly sure it was a snatch. The exact variation required further investigation lol Apparently, my body is learning CrossFit faster than my vocabulary.

Thirty reps at 30 kg

The board from 16 September was very clear about the theme of the day. We started with snatch technique using a PVC pipe, followed by more work with the barbell. Then came the WOD: 30 barbell snatches as fast as possible, with a ten-minute time cap.

For those 30 repetitions, I used 30 kg.

Once the WOD was finished, the sensible thing would probably have been to put the bar away, feel pleased with my work and go home. Naturally, that is when I decided to add another 5 kg!

The 35 kg experiment

I shared the video as a snap on that day:

https://snapie.io/@elianaicgomes/20260916t224952873z

After completing the WOD with 30 kg, this video was a test to see whether I could lift 35 kg. There is always a very specific moment before trying a heavier bar when confidence and questionable decision-making become almost impossible to distinguish. I set up, started pulling and hoped that all the instructions my body had received during training would appear at the correct time. And somehow, the bar ended up over my head.

Looking back at the video, I don’t think I did too badly.

I am not presenting it as a perfect technical demonstration, and I am not suddenly pretending to be an Olympic weightlifter. But there were 35 kg on the bar; I moved them from the floor to overhead, and I stayed standing.

I am allowing myself to be pleased with that!

Fast enough that there is no time to overthink

The snatch is one of those movements that asks for several things at once: strength, speed, coordination, confidence and commitment. You can't slowly negotiate with the bar halfway through... Once it starts moving, you have to follow the movement and trust yourself enough to get underneath it!

For someone who is very capable of overthinking, that may be part of the appeal...There is no time for a committee meeting in my head lol

Pull. Move. Catch. Breathe.

Then watch the video afterwards and ask, “Was that actually a snatch?” 😂

Sometimes the body knows first

When I started CrossFit, so much of the board looked like a different language. Now I can find a video of myself moving 35 kg overhead before I can confidently name the exact variation I was doing.

That feels strangely appropriate for this series...

Progress does not always arrive as expertise. Sometimes it arrives as a video that makes you stop and think: “Wait… I actually did that!”

The terminology can catch up afterwards :)
