A Busy Start of My Weekend: Juggling Between Work, Household Chores, and Getting My Daughter A New Cabinet

Happy weekend, Hivers!!

My busy weekend has started again. Unlike other people, I work on the weekends. But since I have a lot of things to do in the house, like cleaning, organizing, etc., I got up early. The first thing I needed to do was to buy my daughter a new clothes cabinet. Her room is small, so I needed something compact and lightweight.

My husband and I checked the nearest store. They had lots of cabinets on display. The problem is, they're all made of wood. Because of the humidity in my area, wooden furniture isn't practical. They degrade easily. I like some of the designs, though.

We checked another store. This one doesn't seem to sell wooden cabinets. I saw that most of the items there are made of hard plastic. We have no other options because we were running out of time. I have work in the afternoon, so we need to find something suitable for my daughter's room.

We looked around and saw some simple plastic wardrobe cabinets. At first, I was hesitant. It wasn't what I wanted. I thought steel cabinets would be more durable. But when I asked the staff, they said they don't sell steel cabinets. Well, since I wanted something lightweight, I think these plastic cabinets are fine.

And then, I saw this wardrobe cabinet. I like the color and design. It was simple, and the frame seems sturdy. But when I checked the space inside, it seemed cramped. All of my daughter's clothes won't fit in it.

At the last minute, I decided to get a cabinet with the same design as this one on the right. It's a little wider and has drawers inside. I just realized I haven't taken a photo of the exact one I chose 😂. I got so caught up with the time and checking the items.

My daughter didn't complain; in fact, she loved it.

A Cozy Japanese Dinner Date with My Husband at Patron Camsur!🍥

Hello to all of my friends here and of course to all my dear fellow hivers in this lovely @weekendexperiences community!😍🩵☺️

How are you all today? I hope everyone is doing well and happy right now. This is me @lj1728 and I am happy to share in this community my simple life story with you all.💕

Last weekend, my husband invited me to have a simple dinner date, and we decided to finally try a Japanese restaurant that we have been wanting to visit for quite some time. We chose Patron Camsur because we heard about their Japanese food and were curious to try some of the dishes on their menu.

Since we were not very familiar with the exact location, we decided to take a Grab going there. It was more convenient and saved us from the hassle of getting lost along the way. When we arrived, I immediately liked the cozy atmosphere of the place. The ground floor was already quite full, so we decided to sit on the second floor instead. It was a nice and comfortable spot where we could enjoy our dinner and have some quiet time together.

We took our time checking the menu before choosing what we wanted to try. We ordered shoyu ramen, kani maki, menchi katsu, and yaki-yaki. Everything looked appetizing when it arrived, and we were excited to taste each dish. For our drinks, my husband ordered their house blend ice tea, while I chose the strawberry matcha, which was a refreshing combination that I really enjoyed.

The staff were also accommodating and attentive throughout our visit. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us when necessary, which made the whole dining experience even more pleasant. We also took some photos for keepsake.

Overall, we really enjoyed our simple dinner date at Patron Camsur. The food was great, the place was cozy, and we loved getting to try something new together. Definitely worth remembering! We will surely be back again to try and explore more dishes from their menu.

A Perfect Weekend: Craft Ales, Scenic Trails, and a Day at the Zoo

Hello friends!

The past weekend went well. The weather was nice and we made the most of it.

Saturday

On Saturday, we set off for a longer walk outside the town. We walked through parts of the town and connected to the concrete service road along the steam pipeline that heats the town of Sokolov.
The path leads across the reclaimed Antonín spoil tip, and apart from the above-ground steam pipeline, the surroundings are already nicely overgrown and beautiful.

After about 2 km, we left the concrete road and the pipeline and continued along a sandy path further through the reclaimed area.

We reached the bike path running along the Ohře River. Normally, we continue along it to Lake Medard, but for the past few months, entry to the lake has been prohibited due to the construction of a bike path around the lake.
We therefore continued along the bike path back to Sokolov.

In town, we passed the monastery wall where some graffiti with town motifs had been added, until we reached the local brewery that brews beer in the monastery.

To drink, we had our favorite 12-degree beer.

I found out they were tapping two new ones, so we also tried:

HOPPER CITRA 15°, 6.3%, bitterness 50 IBU

ZAŘÍKÁVAČ CHMELE 17°, 8%, bitterness 100 IBU

I like bitter beers, but Zaříkávač is strong.

Sunday

On Sunday, we planned a trip to the Chomutov Zoo. It's a place we visit several times a year.
The zoo is vast, made for a walk with dogs. Several snack stalls and a large restaurant will satisfy every visitor.

Weekend Experience - Garden Cleanup Almost Done! - by Sunscape

We had a very busy weekend tidying up a lot of the gardens around our home. We were expecting a few days of rain, so we decided to make hay while the sun was shining.

The main vegetable garden is done, well, except for all the weeds i n the paths. Ugh! Don't know what I will do about those.

Both shade gardens on the west side of the house, running all the way back to the greenhouse, are totally done.

We pulled out the last of the zinnias and cut back all the perennials that still needed trimming. In this butterfly garden, many of the plants have grown so much that if I have time, I would like to divide some of them.

Back in the huge garden we are taking out, we worked on moving a lot of the soil up into the woods. Let me tell you, that is one huge job for us older folks.

It's starting to feel like we are making some progress, but there is still a large section that will have to wait until spring. I'm hoping to have enough of the soil removed so that we can rent a tiller to help level it out. Perhaps then there will be enough time for grass to grow before winter sets in.

Today the weather will be pretty decent, so I will work on taking out a few more loads.

All the hosta plants surrounding the back porch and pond got cut back. I plan to divide a few of them this week to share some with my brother from Va. You can see that I was being supervised by the frogs while cleaning the pond area.

I found one last strawberry in the tower gardens, and it was so sweet. I had put the trailing vines from one tower into the other one, and they all rooted nicely.

I'm hoping that all the babies make it through the winter. Any ideas about that? Should I surround the towers with netting or anything similar to protect them?

This will be the first year I'm leaving them out, and I really want them to survive.

This Habanero pepper plant was at the top of the tower. I picked them and froze them, and that was the last of the vegetables for the season. Yay!

The Mandavilla Vine's last flower bloomed this week.

I plan on transplanting it into a smaller pot and bringing it indoors for the winter months. I imagine that it will do just fine in a south-facing window. Then next spring I can put it in the greenhouse until it warms up enough to put it back outside.

She sure was beautiful all summer long with the Blue Lobelia. I saved a lot of seeds from the Lobelia and plan on growing twice as much next spring.

Here is the Fall Crocus in full bloom. It is the only one I have, and I think it is just beautiful. The last flower to bloom for the year.

🌹 A Day Filled with Naat, Love & Blessings | Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ

Asslamoalekumand hllo to my #WeekendExperiences community. Welcome to another blog. I hope you are all doing well. I am also doing pretty well.

Here I am writing after a while because I wasn't feeling well. I was I'll and could not produce content for hive.

Now Alhamdolillah I am pretty fine and having a great day. Today I am writing content for one of my favorite community that #WeekendExperiences community.

Last weekend it was a wonderful and holy event held at our nearby mosque that is called Khalifa mosque Pai khel. This beautiful mosque is located very near to my residence.

Every year we celebrate birthday of our beloved Holy Prophet PBUH. Last year we celebrated this holy event at our residence but this year we decided to celebrate birthday of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAWW at nearby mosque.

All my family members collect money whole year for this scared event. My father take responsibility of collecting money and making every arrangement for this holy event. He has wonderful managerial skills for these tyoe of events.

A designer prepare invitation ccard for this event and we distribute these invitation cards among different persons of society. We try to book a scholar for adressing the audience. We call celebrating celebrations of Eid Milad Ul Nabi on this day.

We hire a professional cook on that particular event. So we asked our cook to prepare two dishes on this occasion. One sweet dish that is called Halwa in our language urdu and one tasty dish that is called pulao in our language urdu.

Finally the special holy moments came when we gathered in a nearby Khalifa mosque at about 08 am. We decorated this beautiful mosque with lots of banners.

First, tge mehfil started with the recitation of Holy Quran. The qari sb recited few verses of Holy Quran. After that the session of naat khuwani started. First of all stage secretary asked me to recite Naat Sharif. So I recited one of my favorite Naat sharif. After that my younger brother Aamir Khan recited a beautiful naat Sharif. Then my little nephew Mian Muhammad Khan recited a soulful naat Sharif. My father also recited a heart touching naat Sharif. Then a guest naat khuwan Shah sb recited a beautiful naat Sharif.

In the meanwhile the audience gathered in numbers. Chief guest Mehboob Elahi was invited to adress the audience. So at last he started addressing on the topic of birthday of Holy Prophet PBUH. He said being a Muslin it is our first and foremost duty to follow the teachings of our beloved Hazrat Muhammad SAWW. Every Muslim should follow tge teachings of holy Quran Islam is a perfect and natural religion. One must love the last Prophet of ALLAH Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa SAWW.

My youngest daughter Shehtmrabano Khatoon was also ready for this event. Here you can see in the pictures below. She was looking very cute.

Christmas Magic Starts Here: Finding Our Christmas Tree 🌲✨️

Hi everyone in this community! I hope you’re all doing well and had a wonderful weekend.

Just a little bit of information about Christmas in the Philippines, when September comes, it officially feels like the beginning of our very long Christmas season!

Since moving here to Germany, this will be my first time celebrating the yuletide season with my new family. I’m so happy and excited that this weekend, we started looking for our very own Christmas tree to bring home.

It may be a simple experience, but for me, it feels extra special—a new tradition, a new home, and a new Christmas to remember.

After having lunch today, we started walking to a big Christmas tree garden where we could choose the tree we liked.

The best part is that this beautiful place is just near our home, so we decided to simply enjoy a lovely afternoon walk together. It made the experience even more special and relaxing.

As soon as we arrived, I was so excited to look around and see which Christmas tree we could choose!

I was especially happy to see and experience a real Christmas tree for the first time. Back in the Philippines, we usually use artificial Christmas trees, so they always have that perfect shape.

But here in Germany, these are real trees, and you don’t always find one with a perfectly shaped appearance—and that’s what makes them so special.

Being able to touch a real Christmas tree, smell it, and see it up close was such an amazing experience for me. It may seem simple, but for someone experiencing it for the first time, it was truly a beautiful and unforgettable moment.

So, we started looking for our Christmas tree, and honestly, it was a little complicated to find the one we really liked! Ella and Mother were also busy looking for the Christmas tree they wanted.

As I walked further toward the back, I suddenly saw one that immediately caught my attention. As soon as I saw its shape, I knew I really liked it!

“This one definitely looks good!” I thought. So, we decided that this would be our Christmas tree and put our name on it to reserve it.

We continued walking around, and Ella found a Christmas tree she really liked, while Mother found one she liked too. So, they also put their names on their chosen trees.

Matthias had even made these customized wooden name tags so we could reserve the Christmas trees we liked. I thought that was such a lovely and personal touch!

We continued walking around, and everywhere we looked, there were so many beautiful Christmas trees. Then, as I was walking, I saw another one that caught my attention. I liked it even more than the first one I chose!

So, I decided to change my choice. I removed my name from the first tree and transferred it to the new one. And here’s how my chosen Christmas tree looks!

Ella was also having a hard time choosing because she really liked a few of the trees. And honestly, I can understand her because there were so many beautiful ones to choose from!

Maybe next month, we might still change our minds, but for now, we decided to leave our names on the trees we chose.

You can see here some of the trees that caught my attention. There were actually about three that I really liked and would happily choose from! But honestly, every tree there was beautiful in its own way.

Forgotten Island: More than A Filipino Folklore. The Little Memories That Become Everything.

Yesterday, we watched a movie called Forgotten Island. DreamWorks Animation is releasing an original animated movie inspired by Philippine mythology.

When I saw the trailer, I was excited and told my husband we need to watch Forgotten Island. My husband bought a ticket online and Aya can't wait for that weekend to come. I am a Filipino and I will support it 💯 percent.

My husband saw the trailer and he laughed so hard for the scenes like Karaoke, Lechon, using mouth to point something and throwing of slippers. The trailer was so funny, Dreamworks features Filipino culture and folklore. But it was so much deeper than that.

The story follows best friends Raissa and Jo. Both of them unexpectedly discover a mysterious portal that takes them to Nakali. An island that is filled with magical creatures and exciting adventure. And it's different from their ordinary life.

As the movie continued, I thought we were simply going to watch another interesting story together. It was more than just a friendship, folklore stories and the mysterious island.

That really stayed with me, memories are precious, my family, friendship and the people we love become part of who we are.

Life changes, in my situation I'm miles away from my family. We separate ways but the memories we made together that keep those connections alive.

One message I took from Forgotten Island is this: “Don't live only through someone else's memories.” Sometimes we spend so much time looking at other people's lives.

I remember one thing my husband promised me: I am not a rich man, I'm a simple, supportive and loving person.

My husband promised to give us memories, and he does. The kind of good memories that no one can ever take away from us. 🥹🤍

Always remember to live our own lives. We can do so many things by going outside, taking a walk with family and friends, visiting somewhere new, even sitting beside the river, watching the sunset, having coffee with someone you love, watching movies in the cinema or at home like Netflix, laughing together, taking photos and more.

We can make memories by being present with our loved ones, don’t wait until you’re about to lose someone you love or a memory to realize how much they mean to you.

It's all about CHERISH them while YOU still can.

Memories. Time. People we LOVE. Being Present.

Saturday selections concept: #saturdayselections

One of the users of this community came up with a little concept for herself and called it #saturdayselections; I liked the idea so jumped on board as have a few others. It's not my concept to own however I like the idea so much I've decided to formalise it just a little bit through this post.

It's a simple concept where a user selects some music they've been listening to or likes, or doesn't like and posts here in the community together with some text about what they like about it, what they've been doing over the weekend or what they will or want to be doing. It's a weekend community so that's a requirement.

There's no set number of tracks to list, as many as you like and at least one is the general guideline and, of course, the other rules of this community must be followed as always.

If you want to get involved, it could be a good way to do a little post about some music you enjoy and may even cause others to want to engage with you directly and, as I've been saying since June 2017 when I started here, engagement is the key to a viable, enjoyable and sustainable account around these parts.

Posting in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES COMMUNITY can be done on any day of the week of course, as long as the content is strongly focused on weekend experiences.

Posting tips

Content must revolve around your weekend (Saturday and Sunday) but can be posted any day of the week:

What you did, what you're going to do or what you would like to do. Any subject is welcome provided it happened, or is going to happen on the weekend, with reference made to the weekend. Simply mentioning the word weekend isn't sufficient.

Show personality, passion and effort:

This is my posting standard in any community to be honest. Every post you do is a showcase of what you can do and who you are and people will be attracted to posts that show effort and personality.

Add interesting and in-focus images:

You don't need to be a photographer but using blurry, dim photos won't help catch people's eye. Think about the image you use as the main and reconsider using poor photographs in your post. Also, there's no need to load fifty images of the same thing, that's repellant.

Write interesting text:

Your first paragraph should capture and interest the reader so make it the best you can write. Set up the rest of the post, offer a hint as to what the reader may expect as they work through the post. Think beginning, middle and conclusion when crafting the text and don't jump around too much - Write so that the reader can easily follow the flow of it. Use paragraphs and punctuation to the best of your ability also - None of us are professional writers, but make a little effort.

Text length matters:

Posts of under 250 words won't generally get curated by me for additional votes from curation initiatives, or probably maximum votes from me. You don't need to write massive posts but short-content posting will be treated accordingly as far as votes go. Give readers a little more to work with, you might be surprised how well that goes.

Respond to comments:

When people leave comments on your posts it's usually because they liked what they read and would like to engage with you a little. Ignoring that comment is a good way to ensure they ignore you in the future so make sure you respond. Your replies should be interesting, polite and respectful. A simple thank you is ok, but doesn't help to open up relationships so try adding a little more substance.
