Bitcoin ETF Inflows Return as Citi Raises BTC Target to $113K

The crypto market has started October with an interesting development, and I think it is worth paying attention to.

One of the biggest stories today is Citigroup raising its 12-month Bitcoin price target from $82,000 to $113,000. The bank also increased its Ethereum target from $2,240 to $3,028. Citi attributed the changes to stronger crypto-market activity, improving macroeconomic conditions and renewed inflows into crypto ETFs.

But before anyone gets too excited, there is something important to understand.

A price target is not a guarantee.

We have seen financial institutions change their crypto forecasts several times as market conditions change. Citi itself had previously lowered its Bitcoin forecast earlier this year before raising it again now.

So, what is happening with the ETFs?
This is probably the part I find most interesting.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $2.4 billion in net inflows during the week ending September 25, their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025. Those inflows were enough to push Bitcoin ETF flows for 2026 back into positive territory. Ethereum ETFs also recorded about $689.9 million in inflows during the same week.

To me, this shows how important institutional money has become in the crypto market.

Bitcoin is no longer being driven only by individual traders buying and selling on exchanges. Traditional financial products such as ETFs are creating another channel through which institutions and other investors can gain exposure to Bitcoin.

But there is still a reason to remain cautious

The ETF inflow story has not been completely one-directional.

Recent data also showed approximately $148.69 million in net outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs in one session, showing that investors can quickly change their positioning.

That is why I don't think we should look at Citi's $113,000 target and immediately conclude that Bitcoin must reach that level.

Crypto remains highly volatile.

What interests me more is whether the institutional demand can continue for several months.

If ETF inflows remain consistently strong, it could provide an important source of demand for Bitcoin. If those inflows begin reversing for a sustained period, the market could tell a very different story.

One thing I have learned from following crypto is that there is always a new narrative.

Sometimes it is regulation.

Sometimes it is ETFs.

Sometimes it is institutional adoption.

And sometimes it is simply market speculation.

Right now, ETF flows and institutional demand are becoming increasingly important parts of the Bitcoin story.

For me, the interesting question is not simply:

“Will Bitcoin reach $113,000?”

The bigger question is:

“Will institutional demand continue to grow strongly enough to support the next phase of the crypto market?”

That is what I will be watching as we move deeper into October.

Un día sí, ¿y el otro? También… Cada publicación intermedia, etiquetada con #hive, la destino al 50 y 50; y a la siguiente, al 100 %. Esta alternancia es una meta personal inquebrantable para aumentar mi #hivepower de manera sostenida. Más allá de la ansiedad inmediata por ver los primeros tokens líquidos en mi billetera, se trata de un ejercicio de fe y estrategia.

Es reinvertir cada interpublicación, creando un efecto compuesto, hasta que las finanzas personales mejoren de forma estructural y hasta que llegue el día en que podamos hacer un 100 % #powerup sin asfixiar nuestra liquidez diaria. Y déjenme decirles, con mis años en esto, que no importa el precio al cual se ubique la moneda en el mercado; lo verdaderamente importante es contribuir a la cultura de descentralización y a la salud económica de este proyecto.

¿Qué me permite realmente esta estrategia? No solo crecer al 50 %, sino entrenar la mente para crecer al 75 % o más en el largo plazo. Cultivamos el hábito, tan golpeado y maltratado en nuestros tiempos, del ahorro y el depósito consciente en nuestra #wallet. Para nadie es un secreto que, viviendo en Venezuela, el concepto de ahorro y depósito debe ser reinventado y recuperado a pulso, por lo menos en este lugar. En #hive tenemos el privilegio de ejercer este plan porque entendemos que el futuro se construye hoy. Ya sea para invertir en una comunidad existente o para forjar la propia, la visión es clave.

Nos llegan varias monedas, la euforia nos golpea y lo primero que pensamos es en gastarlo TODO, en retiro inmediato, sin darnos cuenta que coartamos nuestra propia libertad y la posibilidad del ahorro para el futuro. La inmediatez es el enemigo silencioso del criptoblogger.

Ya hace varias fechas que hacemos vida en esta red social descentralizada, y para que nuestra presencia siga siendo perdurable, es menester de todos seguir apoyando el ecosistema. HIVE POWER UP DAY & Monthly Recap - October 1st 2026 - Another 1000 Hive Power UP!

Good evening, everyone! :peakd/hive:🐝

Here we go again—another month begins.... And, as expected, another 1,000 HIVE staked helped me break through the mental barrier of 30k!

Now I can only set my sights on 50k! Will I be able to reach it before the end of 2027? I hope so. I’ll definitely work hard to make it happen.

As for the Hive I have staked, it went from 14,391 to 30,549—an increase of over 110%!

I have to admit that this metric brings me a lot of joy!

As for followers, this month—even though I haven’t been interacting as much as I’d like—I ended up gaining four more followers, whom I’d like to thank right now for their trust and support. After all, it’s thanks to us, the users, that the network will flourish in an organic and sustainable way. There can be no growth unless it’s based on commitment and engagement.

Thank you so much @elianaicgomes, @omidabdi, @gsamp, @vixmemon, and @luckyali!

Without your trust, I wouldn’t have seen such growth in my follower count over the past period!

As for the year itself, we’re moving quickly toward fall… and with it, unfortunately, come not only festivities and celebrations. There is a villain who seeks to decimate a population and subjugate a people at his own whim, and who will do anything to destroy all that is good in Ukraine—things he could never possess himself—for no amount of money can buy the integrity and freedom of a people, or the individuality of each person, regardless of where they were born.

I hope that as winter rapidly approaches, my worst fears will not come true. But I think that possibility is very low, since in recent days we have seen news of increasingly deadly and intense attacks by the Russian Federation. Now, the widespread use of jet-powered drones has once again tipped the scales.

Let’s hope that Mr. VP’s intentions do not come to pass.

I hope and wish that all of you have a fantastic month, and that you achieve everything that can bring you tranquility and peace.

INLEO's Vision for Hive | Open Sourcing Our Tech and Growth

INLEO has been building in a very specific way over the past few years and especially in the past few months. Our focus has always been on external users in the broader crypto space. Many of these users utilize X on a daily basis for their social interactions.

The fact that they are crypto users and they are using a platform like X is something that we believe we can change with our technology on Hive. Our platform has emerged as something that looks & feels similar to X but puts all their data on the Hive blockchain.

Immutable accounts and data. Put it all on chain.

Over the past several weeks, we've been working with other projects within the Hive ecosystem to proliferate our technology as open source contributions to the Hive Ecosystem.

This is all a part of our updated DHF proposal. Our regular updates will showcase the roadmap to open sourcing more of INLEO's technologies and also providing finalized products in the form of Plug & Play APIs that are open source and easily available to all Hive frontends, games and applications.

It's obvious to us now that our path forward on Hive is to Open Source our work and help all Hive projects grow alongside us.

INLEO's passion is not only in building this technology but also marketing it to the broader crypto space. We've found a lot of success in collaboration with other ecosystems. You can see this with our Dash collaboration from November-December 2024. You'll see it in our upcoming collaborations with the Solana Network, Arbitrum Foundation, Litecoin Foundation, ChainLink and the many other HUGE crypto partners that we have lined up as part of our DHF Proposal.

As we continue to do these collaborations, we want to open source the many technologies that have made INLEO so successful. These technologies can be utilized either from the Open Source codebases we release or from the Plug & Play APIs that we release and manage.

We believe that INLEO's place on Hive is about to transition heavily into designing, developing, iterating and managing Open Source, Plug & Play APIs that can be utilized by all Hive projects.

As we do this, our collaborations will bring in a flood of new users to not only INLEO, but also every other Hive application that is out there. The more that we can spread our successful technology to other Hive UIs, the more that we can all grow together as these new users come into Hive and find an app that they want to use on a daily basis (or hopefully, many Hive apps that they use each day).

I am reaching out to all Hive App Owners and asking them if they'd like to collaborate with us in any way. Whether it means getting early access to our Open Source codebases as we roll them out one-by-one or getting set up with our Plug & Play APIs so that they can start integrating our most successful features.

In this post, I want to outline some of our most successful features and the ones that we plan to Open Source as a part of our DHF Proposal.

Any Hive application can now integrate INLEO's onboarding technology in 3 forms:

Keystore (Full Hive Account, Full Self-Custody)
X Lite Accounts (Lite Account, Web2 Authentication)
Google Lite Accounts (Lite Account, Web2 Authentication)

We're talking with about 8 different Hive UIs and applications who are working to integrate the APIs/Open Source tech into their framework so that they can allow these signup and login methods. If you are a Hive app owner and want to integrate, you can read the docs and/or get in touch with our team. We're happy to help any Hive UI who wants to integrate.

The Plug & Play APIs offer an elegant and simple way to integrate these sign up / login methods.

DHF Report #1 | Transparency, APIs & Documentation Release Timeline and Open Source Contributions to Hive

Hey everyone! This week, there was a call in the main Hive Discord where a bunch of Hivers came together to discuss the Hive ecosystem. A heavy emphasis was on the DHF and @blocktrades was the guest of the hour. @buttcoins and @shadowspub do a great job hosting.

During that discussion, the idea of having more regular reporting expectations on DHF-funded projects was floated. I was listening and thought this was a great idea.

For projects on Hive, the DHF can be vital. Whether the project is building open source tech, marketing or some combination of the two (as INLEO's Proposal does), it is important to have clear expectations, regular reporting and accountability.

INLEO's Proposal is 94% of the way to the funding line. We have been +/- 1M with the funding line for the past few days.

While we are not currently funded, we would love to start delivering on these reports and many of the promises we have made surrounding open sourcing various aspects of INLEO and creating Plug & Play APIs that can seamlessly be used by any Hive UI to make our collaboative marketing campaigns not only bring new users to INLEO, but bring new users to all Hive Apps.

We're pushing hard on our goals to:

Open Source all of INLEO's Onboarding and Sign-In Technology
Build Plug&Play, Open Source APIs for Other Hive UIs to Easily Integrate Our Onboarding Technology and Tap into Our Resource Credit Delegation System/Account Creation Tokens
Use Our DHF Funding to Market Our Technologies and Onboard New Users to Hive by Collaborating With External Ecosystems and Onboarding Their Official Team and Community to Hive as a Group

This week, we faced some questions about our LeoAuth & Keystore Implementation for signing in and we made fundamental updates to both secure and improve those SignUp and Login Methods. This is extremely important work as we continue down the path of Open Sourcing INLEO's Onboarding and Sign-In Technologies.

We must ensure that our codebase for signing up and signing in to Hive is as secure as possible. As we continue to proliferate new sign up and sign in methods, having sound foundations and third-party auditing is key.

If you would like to audit and give us feedback on our sign up and sign in methods, our DMs our open. User security is our #1 priority and second to that is User Experience. We want to have both secure and enjoyable methods for signing up and logging in to Hive each day for all the new people we onboard to this ecosystem.

Transparent Accounting

When the funding officially starts and we begin the first of the collaborative marketing campaigns, we will share transparent accounting of every single expense down the the penny. After our proposal is funded, you'll find this section as a spreadsheet in our future reports with line-by-line accounting for every single expense related to the campaigns. The format will be a very simple spreadsheet that is easy to track along with invoices, campaign links, media links and other relevant notes.

We believe in transparently accounting for every $0.01 spent during this DHF proposal and will deliver it in these regular reports as the campaigns begin.

Open Source Timeline

Open Sourcing INLEO's Onboarding Technology for Sign-Ins and Sign-Ups is an amendment we made to our original DHF Proposal. After getting a lot of feedback that INLEO should aim to do more Open Source contributions to Hive, this is how we've decided to begin doing that.

Over time, our goal will be to continually release more INLEO Technologies as Open Source contributions to Hive.

A key thing for me is that we not only release our tech as OS. I think it's equally (potentially more) valuable to also release plug & play APIs along with well written documentation so that any UI can integrate our technologies without having to adapt our code. Remember that each UI has its own code base. Some of us are written in different frameworks.

Just because one UI builds something that is Open Source doesn't mean that it is easily applied to other UIs. While we will provide the code base Open Source so UIs can choose to look at it and pull what they want, we will also provide plug & play APIs to make it very easy for any UI to integrate something from INLEO's tech stack.

This has been a long-time coming and while the INLEO Team has been focused heavily on our cross-chain tech stack to onboard ecosystems like Dash, Solana, Arbitrum, Litecoin and many others to the Hive blockchain, we also wanted to make sure our inward facing technology gets the love it deserves.

When I (Khal) was in Croatia for HiveFest last September, I realized that a lot of people didn't know that INLEO created Hivestats.

The story of Hivestats goes back to the legacy chain days. There were 2-3 awesome stats-tracking websites for the legacy chain that many of us used on a daily basis. I personally was a heavy user of them.

When Hive was born, some of those stats apps didn't move over and I decided that the LEO Team owed it to the Hive community to build an awesome stats website that was even better than the ones that came before it.

Today, Hivestats is one of the most utilized tracking & analysis apps for Hive. 133k unique visitors and over 300k pageviews in the past year.

Outside of general maintenance and a few minor tweaks over the past 12 months, we haven't made a ton of changes to Hivestats.

It was long overdue for a refresh.

One of the most requested features on Hivestats was the "Curation APR" algorithm. Essentially, it looks at your last 7 days of curation data and uses it to project what APR you're earning on your HIVE POWER.

This is by far and away the most loved and used feature on Hivestats. We've got a few ideas for some more algorithmic analysis - especially with the upcoming release of LeoAI - and we'll be looking at integrating them into Hivestats in the VerySoon future.

In this update, we focused on just refreshing the UI and making some backend changes to prepare for our next round of features. You'll notice the price trackers for HBD, HIVE & LEO are revamped and look much cleaner. We also fixed the API delays and the pricing will be more real-time and accurate.

Most other things remain largely the same, just with a fresh & updated look. Faster APIs to run, calculate & retrieve data, etc.

What's Next For Hivestats?

We rely heavily on #feedback to guide the development of INLEO as a project in general. HiveStats is no different. Over the years, we've collected and developed features for Hivestats - i.e. the Curation APR Calculator - based entirely on community feedback and what you, the Hive community, want to see on Hivestats.

If you want to request features for the 2025 roadmap of Hivestats, now is the time to put those requests in.

Introducing Refer2Earn | Onboard Your Friends to Hive, Earn Up to $50 Per Referral

As we near the end of 2024, the INLEO team has been wrapping up a wide array of work that we've been deeply focused on in the ladder part of this year.

We'll release several blog post from now until the end of the year talking about these things in detail. Today, we'll focus on the new Refer2Earn protocol that we've built for Hive.

This protocol is actually not brand new. We released it several months ago with a V1 basic release. Over the past few weeks, we started to roll out the remainder of the protocol. The initial release was a basic update to allow referral codes to be used.

INLEO has been growing like crazy in this last quarter of 2024. Much of this is due to all of the updates we've rolled out as well as the major partnerships that we've integrated (currently: Dash. Soon: Maya Protocol, Several Maya UIs, Thorchain, Rujira, Arbitrum Foundation and many more!). We're smashing all of our all-time high user metrics in terms of:

Onboarding new accounts
Retention rates
Number of Threads created
Number of votes/engagements on site
etc. etc.

The update brings several features into focus and rounds out the Refer2Earn experience on INLEO. This is incredibly important right now as we are onboarding a lot of new users to Hive. These new users have friends and we want to deeply encourage them to invite their friends and get active on INLEO & Hive.

TLDR; you can now refer people to Hive accounts and earn up to $50 per referral. The Referral rewards can be claimed instantly and are paid in our native token, $LEO which is listed on 5 major decentralized exchanges. The two main questions about the Referral program are:

The rewards come from our native token, LEO. We buy LEO off the market and fill the @leoreferral account with LEO. When a user goes to their Referral Dashboard, then they can click "Claim Rewards" and instantly claim their payouts.

One of the biggest onboarding problems on Hive is retention. How do you retain new users and encourage them to continually come back and stay active onchain?

INLEO has come up with a many ways to solve this problem. One of them is the Referral program. We designed the Referral program to have entrenched incentives for users to not only onboard their friends, but also track their activity and encourage them to be active.

How that works is very simple. If you go to your Referral Dashboard and click "How it Works", you'll see the following popup:

This popup explains the tiers for rewards. In order to get the total $50 payout, your onboarded user needs to be active on chain. The more active they are, the more you earn for that referral.

there is no time expiration on this activity. If it takes 1 year for your onboard to do all the above actions, then you will get the payout released over the course of the year as each milestone is hit in real time.

Referral Dashboard and How it Works

Your referral dashboard on INLEO looks like this. You can reach it through the side menu or by going directly to it, here: https://inleo.io/referral.

You'll notice a few key aspects and all of it is hyper self-explanatory. You've got your Referral Code and Referral Link toward the top of the page. You can also click the "QR" icon to generate a QR code for your referral link to have other users scan it in real-time or share the image of it over text, etc.

If you scroll down the page a bit, you'll see your Total Referrals along with the Total LEO you have earned from the referral program, the Unclaimed Rewards that you have pending (awaiting claim) and the Total USD value of all the Rewards you've ever earned from the program.

Below that, you'll see "How it Works" and "Claim Rewards".

When you have Rewards awaiting claim, you can click that button and instantly claim them to your Hive wallet.

You'll also notice a little orange icon to the right of the Total USD figure. This icon will auto-popup when you claim your rewards. You can also manually call it by clicking the icon:
