Mini Walk, Mini Adventure: Cravings, Chicken Coop, and The Mini Forest

I'm craving for a fried chicken, Mama needs to buy food for her dog, so we decided to go on in an afternoon walk, going to the market where we can find a nice fried chicken stall. It is a quick walk actually. But the highlight of this is not the fried chicken or whatever but the path we took going back home. And that path is like thr way to a mini Paradise haha. Well, I call it that coz of the greens on the way.

Before buying fried chicken, we stop by in here first, to buy rice. Mama wanted ro buy that brown rice saying that it is a nice kind of rice. I only know and ever eaten white rice so I had no idea about other's rice.

Next is buying the fried chicken, to be honest the Lumpiang Shanghai also caught my attention haha..but, I stick ro the fried chicken. Lucky coz the fried was freshly fried and its still hot and crispy. I got the drumstick by the way, my fav!.

So going back home, this path is just another path that lead in the back of our land. I don't really take this path but Mama often used it to escape from her dogs haha.

But this is not an official road that anyone just can barge in. It is basically someone's private property but coz it leads to ours, Mama just use it. Though there's a building, but it is a company building and we can only see few worker here that take this path. This path also lead to a nearby restaurant by the way.

And look, they even have chickens here that they sell in the wet market, thats a chicken coop right there. They have worker here, as I mentioned and mama knows those workers as she often interact with them. I know their faces but I don't know them. Lol

So there it is, you can very much see our land from there. We just have to walk in that stonewall. By the way this is where Mama sometimes harvest sweet potato leaves. The soil here is so good that the leaves that grow here are very healthy.

Same with the wild plants, there's also trees, some edible plants, and some whatever plants, lol. This part us like a forest, I seriously want to explore this place more but i'm afraid of "nuno" hahahaha. But man, our dogs are so much better coz they already get to that part of the land. Who knows what they see there but they love that part as their play ground coz its wide and they can run around like crazy dogs whenever they want to. But when they run there, Mama had ro call them too coz she's afraid that they may encounter some scary wiggly wiggly creatures, the big ones.

Anyways, if we hangout here, we seriously have the best view. But well, i can still see this part even without going there. And going to this part every once in a while is enough for me. I can see it during my walk in the garden. I can still see it even from afar. But hopefully, I can explore that place with Mama soon, and with the dogs.

A Day Trip to Bratislava, Slovakia (ENG-GER)

Yesterday was an easy and enjoyable day trip from Vienna. The journey took us roughly an hour, making Bratislava an ideal destination for a short getaway.

As I mentioned in my previous post, two of my nieces wanted to visit Bratislava. One came from London and the other from Erding, near Munich, and since they were both visiting, I thought Bratislava would be a perfect choice.

Many of the main sights can be reached simply by walking around, which makes it especially convenient for a day trip.

The heart of the city is Staré Mesto, the Old Town. It was already bustling with visitors when we arrived, with plenty of organised tourist groups filling the streets.
I had visited Bratislava once several years ago, and I still remembered the rather tiring walk up to Bratislava Castle. My foot eventually gave up on me that time, so this visit we decided to leave the castle out of our itinerary. Sometimes you simply have to know your limits!

St. Martin's Cathedral
One of our stops was the beautiful Gothic St. Martin's Cathedral. Unfortunately, we couldn't go inside because Holy Mass was taking place at the time.
The cathedral is nevertheless impressive from the outside. It is particularly famous for its connection with the coronation of Hungarian monarchs, as several kings and queens of Hungary were crowned here.

Towards the Danube
From the Old Town, we continued walking towards the Danube, where we could see one of Bratislava's most recognisable landmarks—the SNP Bridge, with its UFO-shaped observation deck high above the river.
Even without going up to the observation deck, the structure itself is quite fascinating and gives Bratislava a very distinctive skyline.

The Blue Church

Another highlight was the wonderfully unusual Blue Church, officially known as the Church of St. Elizabeth. As its name suggests, blue dominates the building. The façade combines beautiful shades of blue and white, and the colour theme continues inside with blue-and-white decorative motifs.
It differs greatly from the traditional churches we usually see, and it's certainly one of Bratislava's most distinctive sights.

Exploring the Quiet Side of the Town: Empty Streets, Sunset Skies, and Soft Breeze

A wonderful day, Hivers!!

How's your week going?? I hope everything's going well.

My husband and I went out for a simple photo walk. My husband loves taking pictures of cats, insects, and some flowers. I love taking photos of the sky, especially the sunset. We went to the usual spot in the town center, but later on decided to explore more. We went behind the Museum and the Capitol building.

It was so quiet. No one was walking in that area. Most of the people were in the town center near the food carts. I love quiet walks like this. I enjoyed the sound of the birds flying above us and the soft afternoon breeze. This is the same feeling I get when I walk early in the morning.

We saw some buildings under construction, but it was quiet. No one was working because it was almost sunset.

After an hour of walking through the stillness of the town, we went back to the Capitol grounds.

The sun was setting. I could only see the golden glow in the sky. It was time to go home. Time to start my work while everyone was resting.

That walk gave me a little boost of energy I needed for my evening shift.

Walking along Carrera 17 in Barquisimeto [ENG/ESP]

Greetings, fellow walkers at @wednesdaywalk—I hope you have a very productive week.

Today I’d like to share some photos of one of the main thoroughfares in the city of Barquisimeto, which connects the western part of the city with the central-eastern part.

Several taxi routes run along this street, coming from the west, passing through the historic district in the center, and then continuing on to the hospital, while others head east along Lara Avenue.

When you reach Carrera 17 between Calles 21 and 22, you’ll find a small bridge over the creek, and on the right you can see the entrance to the acoustic shell, an iconic landmark that tells a story about the city.

This place is surrounded by lush, towering trees located in the lower section. You reach it via long concrete stairs. However, in the upper section, there are also beautiful spots that invite you to relax and unwind.

There, on the right-hand side, is a large mural depicting the scene from April 19, 1810, when the document granting Venezuela its independence was signed.

Continuing a little further down, we find the walking paths surrounded by shrubs and ornamental plants that lead to the cove along paths filled with shade and a cool breeze that carries the scents of the vegetation and the humidity.

In the afternoon, you can see many people walking along the paths in search of peace and tranquility or simply to get some exercise. It’s a special place for rest and meditation.

That wraps up this tour of these streets in Lara; next time, I’ll continue showing you more walking routes.

My Wednesday Walk: Brgy. Sugcad

‎The morning was a little warm, but that’s so much better than rain. I just stayed in the nice shade so I wouldn’t get direct sun, and it felt perfect.

‎Ryzen’s school is in Brgy. Sugcad, Polangui. There are two daycares around it, but the place I brought Ryzen is packed with greenery. Keeping the place fresh. The place is a little upland, and I actually really like that.

‎When snack time came, Ryzen and I stepped out for a little walk to buy something to eat.
‎

‎I love walking here. Everywhere you look, there’s green, and you can see the mountains standing so pretty against the bright blue sky. It’s just beautiful.

‎The store isn’t far at all. Ryzen was running ahead all the way there, haha. Me? I just walked at my own pace... why rush? 😆

‎We got our snacks successfully, and Ryzen happily ate inside the classroom.

‎After class, while waiting for my hubby, we walked again... over to the nearby basketball court.

‎Some kids were playing, so we stayed in the open part and just enjoyed the space and the view.

‎Ryzen was running around asking me to chase him... such fun energy. 😄

‎I couldn’t stop taking photos of all the greenery. It’s so refreshing to the eyes.

‎Ryzen even asked me to capture a tree full of flowers. He even asked for a selfie with it as our background.

A Stroll Through the Town of Santa Rosa, Barquisimeto, Lara State [ENG/ESP]

Hello, fellow readers of the @Wednesday Walk community! It’s a pleasure to greet you all. I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday walk, just like I did. Welcome to my blog.

Today I’m going to tell you a little about a walk I took a few days ago through the beautiful town of Santa Rosa, specifically along the La Pérgola promenade, which is located next to the Santuario de la Divina Pastora in the beautiful, tourist-friendly town of Santa Rosa and the area surrounding the sanctuary. The promenade is lined with various types of beautiful murals, which serve as a tourist attraction not only for the local residents but also for visitors, including the tourists who come to this beautiful and colorful little town throughout the year.

I’d like to mention that even though I’m from Lara and visit from time to time—especially during the Marian festivals in honor of our Mother, the Divina Pastora—this is the first time I’ve managed to make it up to this promenade. On previous occasions, I’d been too scared to go because of the number of stairs you have to climb, However, on this particular day I decided to climb them—also because I went on a Wednesday, so there weren’t many people visiting either the promenade or the surrounding area. I visited in the afternoon, around 4 p.m. I absolutely loved all the murals, paintings, and the entire decoration of the promenade; I left feeling enchanted. Santa Rosa really does have beautiful paintings and is so colorful.

All along the promenade, there are benches secured with chains where people can sit to rest, chat, eat ice cream—in short, to spend a pleasant time with friends and family. The promenade features a beautiful, colorful canopy, as well as artwork depicting local landscapes and the Catholic patron saint of the people of Lara.

By the way, right there on La Pérgola promenade, they sell traditional, spectacular slushies that are absolutely delicious. You can enjoy them on a hot afternoon with the kids.

The surrounding streets are well-lit. Since it had gotten dark by the time we finished our walk along the pergola—which took quite a while—we came upon the museum, the church, and the spectacular plaza as we left the walkway, with traffic flowing smoothly around the church.

Early Morning Walk: Taking Picture of Everything I see on my Walk

This morning, I went for another early walk to look for cats to photograph. The weather was a little cloudy, but I decided to go anyway. I brought an umbrella with me just in case it rained, so I wouldn’t get wet right away.
While I was looking for cats, I also took photos of anything that caught my attention anything I liked or anything I came across that looked interesting enough to photograph.
As I was heading out toward the highway, this was the first dog I saw. It looked like it was giving me a serious or unfriendly stare. But this dog actually knows me because I pass by this place often, and I always see it hanging around on the road almost every day.

As I continued walking, I came across this beautiful flower growing along the side of the road. You wouldn’t really expect that even a simple weed growing by the roadside could be so beautiful to look at and catch anyone’s attention whenever they pass by.

This talisay tree has been standing along the roadside for a very long time. It also provides some relief during extremely hot weather, serving as a shade and shelter for people walking along the road when they need to escape the heat.

I remember this little alley. It used to be our shortcut to the church whenever we walked there, since the church was just a short distance from our house.

I also came across a dog that was tied up and sleeping peacefully.

Before it started raining, I finally came across the cat I had been looking for. This cat looked very similar to one of our cats that had been missing for several months, so I immediately went closer to take a look and see if it was really our cat. But it turned out to be a different one because it was a little bigger.
I asked the owner of the store where the cat was hanging around for permission to take a photo of their cat, and they kindly agreed.
When I took the photo, the cat even looked like it was smiling while looking at me.
Since it started raining, I took shelter and waited for the rain to stop before heading home.

Hello friends, welcome to my blog

This Wednesday dawned with cloudy skies; we’ve had heavy rain at night over the past few days. Sometimes the rain lasts until morning, cooling things down a bit—which is welcome, since the temperature in Medellín has been quite hot lately. In fact, people have been complaining about the heat.

With the sky cloudy and the air feeling nice and cool, I headed out for a walk—specifically to take part in this Wednesday challenge on Hive. Early on, the sky looked gray, but as the morning progressed, it began to clear, gradually revealing its blue color. The sky gifted me some very special photos this morning; I took them looking straight up from beneath the tall trees I came across.

Suddenly, the sun was bathing the entire city, and increased activity among the residents was noticeable despite the heat that was beginning to set in. Medellín is a city that moves with you—as a government slogan puts it—and I stopped to take a few photos at a busy intersection.

Leaving the traffic behind, I’m on my way back home. It is very common to spot certain birds, and it is delightful to see the little ones that frequently wander all over the city—though they look even better when seen in green surroundings, like the pair you are about to see. How adorable!

Wednesday Walk: A bike ride down the Channel"!

Hello Friends, and thank you for your visit!

It is #wednesdaywalk #40 of 2026, and for this week I took a bike ride down the Channel!
But first I want to thank @tattoodjay for this community - #wednesdaywalk ,
"Thank You"!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So after a quick look at the Park I decided things have to be a bit more exciting down the Channel - and that's where I went!
But it was pretty overcast here is a look across the water,

But I did catch some Kite Surfers - though from a ways away. I think the winds were too unpredictable to get close to where I was. Here they came over towards me,

Here one is in the air!

A quick look under the bridge,

While this was going on, this Pelican flew right by,

Here is one in the air,

And now two of them,

And at this point between the winds and the overcast situation I decided to head home!
That was my #wednesdaywalk this week,

Walking Along The Edge of The Fog

Today was the last day of September. Warm and even a little sunny. But in the morning, when I was driving from home to the office, it was foggy, and I thought about making a report about it, but I forgot to take the memory card out of the DVR. It's about 45 km from my house to my office. When I crossed the Vyatka River bridge and entered the city, the fog disappeared.

I left home early today and arrived almost an hour and a half before the start of work. Of course, I decided to take a walk around the city. But where should I go? I just went east, towards the river.
After walking 2 blocks, I realized that there was fog ahead of me. Wonderful!

Sometimes I observe changes in this ravine. About 10 years ago, I saw a landscaping plan for this place. It was supposed to build a shopping center and entertainment facilities based on the slope of the ravine. It was under Governor Nikita Belykh. But... Sometimes it happens that the governor ceases to suit the Central Government and is removed from his post, but often this is done through imprisonment. In this case, Nikita was sent to prison. The official verdict was for corruption. By the way, this ravine is located between Lenin and Nikitskaya Streets.

There is a memorial stone next to the ravine. It says: "The street is named after Albert Likhanov (1935-2021), an outstanding writer and public figure, founder of the Russian Children's Fund."
Likhanova Street runs along the long side of the ravine.

I walk past him and turn left. If I had turned right, I would have found myself where I took a photo of this monastery 2 weeks ago. I even planned to visit there in the fog, but I went for a walk without a camera, only with my trusty old iPhone XR.

Last week, when I went to Belarus, my companions discussed the interesting graffiti in this place. And now I've decided to see him. I need to go up to the top landing, to the gate of the North.
