Hello Everyone, today I am back to prepare some beautiful mushrooms that I will be featuring in the #FungiFriday Community hosted by @ewkaw today.

On this occasion, I will again present two species of mushrooms that I found two days ago in a betel nut plantation. And the first is a species of fungus known by another name, Volvopluteus gloiocephalus. At that time, I was walking towards the betel nut plantation to look for mushrooms after the rain and the sun had returned. That's when I came across a pile of rotting and dead wood and immediately walked towards the pile of wood.

And accidentally found this species of umbrella mushroom that looks so beautiful and graceful. And its thick umbrella with a slightly yellowish white color that looks so attractive to me, and at that time I immediately took my smartphone camera and macro lens in a small bag and at that time I immediately approached it, and without waiting long I immediately took several different angles of pictures and it looks very beautiful and graceful, and you can see it below some portraits of this mushroom species.

Volvopluteus gloiocephalus, commonly known as the big sheath mushroom, rose-gilled grisette, or stubble rosegill, is a species of mushroom in the family Pluteaceae.....Wikipedia

Then after I photographed this species of mushroom and at that time I went back around this areca nut plantation. And accidentally found a species of wood mushroom or better known by another name, namely Lingzhi, and at that time I found it on a dead and rotten areca nut tree and at that time I immediately approached it to see it from, and at that time I managed to take several different angles of the picture and it looked very beautiful and elegant, and you can see it below and I hope you like it.

Greetings to the followers of this wonderful "Community": . I am always happy to be here with you all to join our friend @ewkaw in her brilliant "Contest": . These are the kinds of initiatives I love participating in because of everything involved—from the moment you venture into the forest to search for them, to the research required to identify them.

https://i.ecency.com/DQmVYW8HVGfP9wAtTWgMjcW69qRpmfoTHFrLhHwCp7caf5o/portada_hongos.jpg

What makes this "species" of fungus interesting is its role in nature; they ensure that tree branches knocked down by the wind eventually return to the earth. Given their texture, I don't think you'd be tempted to cook a dish with them; this type is sought after more for the other things that can be done with them.

 ¨Pycnoporus¨-¨sanguineus¨:

It is a shame we didn't arrive sooner to see this wonderful specimen: had we arrived earlier, they would have been in perfect condition. These specimens are known as decomposers, and whenever we find them, it is on a particular type of tree trunk.

Shaggy Mane are a common, distinctive, wild mushroom in Vermont. Here is a link to some more info from wikipedia Shaggy Mane

Shaggy Mane are short lived mushrooms. Sometimes up and gone in a single day. They are growing several places around my home so I got several pictures of them in each stage of life. This picture shows them just emerging.

Young ones like these are supposedly edible but they don't last long so are hard to harvest and cook.

Here is one that is fully grown but not yet opening.

Once they fully grow they start to open.

I think Shaggy Mane are most photographic at this stage so I took several.

While they are opening, I think they look like a long hairdo with a flip or one of those 1920's moll hats, a cloche hat.

This is a great shot that shows an opening mushroom in the foreground and you can see other mushrooms farther along in the background.

Here's my favorite photo. A starburst. Often Shaggy Mane are already dissolving and black at this stage.

These mushrooms are starting to dissolve and turn black.

Lots of Shaggy Mane are already in this stage when you see them. Shaggy Mane grows under alot of my pine trees but I don't think that is general characteristic. I think they just like rich soil with decaying wood.

I didn't want to end with all those depressing dead mushrooms so here's another cluster of young Shaggy Mane just getting started.

As usual, allow me to share this time a few species of mushrooms that I hunted in one day. Entering the rainy season, of course, mushroom species will start appearing in the bushes and on decayed wood. I am very happy that today I was able to find four different species of mushrooms. I am really glad to have found four very beautiful and lovely mushroom species today. Honestly, I am so happy to have discovered these four amazing mushroom species, even though many mosquitoes were after me because of the damp place, and most of them would suddenly come out to hunt their prey.

This tiny mushroom species is very small, with a little cap that has tiny spots on it, making it look more elegant. This mushroom species is often referred to as a small wood mushroom from the Psathyrellaceae family, growing on small rotten wood branches. What really caught my attention about this mushroom is its very striking color, especially on the cap—wow... So beautiful, my friend. Mushroom hunting really has its own pleasures, even though there are many obstacles I have to go through.

They are often referred to as yellow jelly mushrooms from the Tremella mesenterica group. Just like the mushroom species mentioned above, they appear on decaying wood. The flesh texture of this mushroom species is a bit softer, but when the dry season comes, it's really hard for me to find this mushroom. They are very difficult to survive, but when it's the rainy season like now, this mushroom species is very abundant, and almost all parts of their body look more prominent.

This mushroom species usually grows in clusters, but this time I found a pair growing on very damp ground. Unfortunately, I couldn’t freely photograph the stems—the caps were too close to the ground to get a good shot. Even though I couldn’t capture the stems, the large caps were definitely just as interesting to look at. This mushroom species is often called Psathyrellaceae or Lacrymaria. As far as I know, these mushrooms don’t survive very long—only about a week—after which the cap and stem start to wilt.

The weather is still sunny and warm, but those odd showers we've had seem to have brought a lot of fungi out. The forest was a bit damp and quiet today, so I thought it would be a good time for a proper fungi hunt. Rather than sticking to the main path, I spent my walk scanning the leaves, checking the fallen logs and the bases of trees to see what I could find.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmemRKzswuArSu8uagY95E7BEQLggzV8wfGSFXoMtBcfr4/20261007_120344~2.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmZJLgwPokjnVZWsuRUE9eP94sJ62u3ZqeJ8e39jBoDrwQ/20261007_120337~2.jpg

Early in the walk, I spotted a white bracket fungus growing high up in the gap of an oak tree right beside the path. Here I was looking on the ground and there was one high up!

https://images.hive.blog/DQmUDFcVDhw85YTJiAnWfrU5CkZcGmu6Fofe5bhHPBdRAug/20261007_121059~2.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmQSmW8b7jNadtVLucTqr3vhWU4HV1bvMX1eVKPNa9Mxm3/20261007_121108~2.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmYYHCkbNYBL9vCYV9KKeehPPnZc76wqYrxxyRx8Re3uZQ/20261007_122919.jpg

Further along, there were lots of pine needles covering the ground. Clustered together were lots of small, glossy caps.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmfFXFXTUoh8JT3UAYKMCrYZLpS3G6VBYoShcUi8e7zasE/20261007_122851~2.jpg

Nearby, small spiky puffballs were emerging from the fallen wood. They appeared to be in perfect condition.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmSbB8HoGJa67MvqvMakdj6kwR5n4Dqh1pYTRrGA2b75B4/20261007_122306.jpg

A neat cluster of orange capped fungi with slightly frayed edges was wedged tightly against the base of a tree trunk.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmSGCfy7UV2TRygJzyxr6hXzZZfrRLvBFVpgsFjSGmuVwG/20261007_122128.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmcBsHasdzF1DBrxgJx4Uw28XDQZPo4dthPVbYKUCYuQKb/20261007_115325.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmeyLY6t5D1v5MLLZvuZkvHDUd37Gc5iRM2ba67cboq13R/20261007_121044.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmVUhjP5zhPV6vsnMB36mPBtGNZiioQm43WMLi2Qg6soLT/20261007_121049.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmXs6HJRTodt6z3kbYbMgC6nV1yofpxpkpN1M4fwn7Pps5/20261007_121525.jpg

Obviously, the highlight of the walk came in bright red and white, with several fly agarics scattered through the moss. One cap looked perfect. It probably had only just come through. I think it was the best one I have seen for a while.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmcZr8MiYj1Wyvx9FFVC2TbVwbv8qzLkkhP57Zzo2c7uSv/20261007_121710~2.jpg

https://images.hive.blog/DQmXCDUjYgQUSjwkzM1tqZSMmoUxbb6QfvixgPgwB5bZBtm/20261007_121612~2.jpg

Not far from the fly agarics, a couple of heavy, greyish brown fungi were pushing up through the damp soil.

https://images.hive.blog/DQmNie6Hf8sMHtbTrPvLq25irnnj25PgS7peRZqNpQGxQ2x/Messenger_creation_B01E29D5-5126-4F30-9B33-15183BEA89AF.jpeg

https://images.hive.blog/DQme8R7ETsqtkoZdDr4K2suhD7HxQRi6GvHFxJ7UK3KVAGA/20261007_114919~2.jpg

I think I went at the right time as a lot were just sprouting through the soil or were very new. Apart from my all time favourite, the fly agaric, I quite liked the puff ball. It's not often I see one in that good a condition.

This Friday morning, I had another little surprise waiting for me outside our house. As I went out early in the morning, I noticed different kinds of mushrooms growing in our yard. I was happy to discover them because they came in different shapes and sizes. Some were very small, while others had bigger caps and looked quite different from one another.

After several days of rain, I think the wet ground helped these mushrooms grow. I did not notice them before, but this morning, they were already there in different spots around our yard. It was interesting to see how quickly they appeared. Nature really has its own way of surprising us, even in the simplest places.

I took some pictures of the mushrooms because I wanted to keep a little memory of this discovery. As I looked at them closely, I noticed that they did not all look the same. Some were tiny and white, while others had wider caps with different colors and textures. A few were growing near the soil, and some could be seen around old wood and tree roots.

I never expected to find so many different-looking mushrooms just outside our home. Sometimes, we are so busy with our daily activities that we forget to pay attention to the little things around us. But when I take time to look around, I discover something new and interesting.

For me, these small discoveries make ordinary days more special. I do not need to travel far to enjoy the beauty of nature. Even in our own yard, there are little things worth noticing and appreciating. The rain may have made the ground muddy, but it also brought new growth that caught my attention this morning.

Of course, I know that not all wild mushrooms are safe to eat. Some poisonous mushrooms can look similar to edible ones, so I will only enjoy observing and taking pictures of them without tasting them.

What made this Friday morning memorable was the simple happiness of finding something new. It reminded me that there is always something interesting around us if we take the time to look.

That is how my Friday started—with a fresh morning, a little curiosity, and another discovery in our yard. I am thankful for these simple moments because they give me something new to share with my friends here in the community.

How about you, friends? Have you also noticed mushrooms growing around your house after several days of rain? I would love to hear about your own little discoveries!

Happy Friday, everyone, and may we continue to appreciate the simple beauty of nature every day. ❤️

Unlike in previous years, I have unsuccessfully searched for new mushrooms, especially after each rain.

Today the cut trunk of the palm tree looked the same as it had been weeks ago: the same species of fungi doing a hard job.

But, upon closer inspection, I saw that there were two other species there, almost solitary, grayish-white....

and others in groups, brown.

y otras en grupo, marrones.

The grayish ones look like Coprinus_atramentarius, a fungus with remote geographical distribution....

and the brown ones are probably Coprinellus micaceus, better known to me.

The Latin name is Calvatia gigantea.

At this point they get foamy in texture but are still edible.

Here is a softball size one. I like to peel off the outer skin then cut them in slices and pan fry them in olive oil. If you melt cheese and marinara on them they make a kind of nice mushroom crust pizza.

Here is a basketball size one that is bursting beyond its skin. At this size I usually just dehydrate them and turn them into powder to add to soups.

English version

I have been delaying this moment for a long while, but the time has finally come to do something about it.
#FungiFriday challenge has been running on the blockchain for over 4 years already without a single break. This means a new #fungifriday post every week! How cool is that?

In all these years, many things have changed and the tag has been roaming freely, not belonging to any community. But from today on, it will have its own home: The FungiFriday Community

With this new chapter, I will introduce a few changes and cool perks to make it more interesting.

FungiFriday challenge:

The FungiFriday tag has been used across the platform even before 'communities' were started. The rules below apply to everyone that wants to use #fungifriday tag.

when Friday comes post your own, original photo/drawing/art/food/anything-at-all of any type of fungi (yes, I will check and report stolen images or text!)

add #FungiFriday tag (it doesn't have to be your first tag)

Include
My contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw
anywhere in your post.

## The cool perks:

Among all the correct entries I will pick the best, most interesting, most creative posts. Those will be included in the challenge Summary Post published during the weekend.
100% of the Summary Post payout will be split between the featured users.
To participate in this part, the post has to be published from the The FungiFriday Community

Once in a while, I will throw in some extra topics/elements for the challenge to make things more interesting, so keep an eye out for the weekly post.

Fun member titles will be given to users that were featured in the Summary Post at least 10 times :)

That's all.
See you guys on Friday :)

Wersja Polska

Dodaj
My contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw
w dowolnym miejscu swojego postu.

Dodatki:

To wszystko.
Do zobaczenia w piątek :)
