London meetup 2026

Yesterday I met up with a few Hivers in London. This is my second meetup this year after Alicante in May. We met up at a local pub for lunch first where @shanibeer who organised the meetup, highlighted the loos worth checking out. She was right!

The pub itself was nice, and it was good to see you can still get a decent lunch for under £10 in London. You can see more of the pub and our meetup from @adetorrent's post here.

After lunch, we headed over to our meeting venue. It was actually the office of a charity organisation where @shanibeer works. She had arranged access over the weekend and we had the whole place to ourselves. We could have held HiveFest here 😄

@shanibeer even arranged tea and coffee and biscuits for us. A must at any British meeting.

We hung around at the meeting area at one end of the office. There was a big table there, and I lay out some Hive merch I bought with me. @steevc also bought some, and together we had a good selection of items. It was popular with the others who had not been to a HiveFest before.

There was no agenda, just casual chatting amongst a group of friends about things in general, both on and off chain, but generally off chain more, the state of things in UK, the impact of AI on life etc...

On AI, @adetorrent talked about how he gets different AIs to talk to each other and see what kind of shenanigans they get up to. He did a demo with two different AI on two mobile phones and got them to role play Ned and a disgruntled user who has lost a lot of money on Shistxxm. It was very interesting to listen to their conversation and see how they interacted. I'm going to try this as well!

Those who know @steevc will know he's a bit of a musician. He bought along a synthesiser as @nicklewis who was originally going to join us is into synthesisers as well. Unfortunately he couldn't make it.

Other attendees included @shanibeer of course. @davidthompson57 who I met some years ago during covid, and @alonicus whom I've had more engagement with recently and I met for the first time. He came with his wife who has a Hive account but isn't active. There were a couple of others who unfortunately couldn't make it last minute, but it was a nice turnout and I think everyone appreciated the meeting.

Penderel's Oak Wetherspoon's Pub Location

A gentle reminder of the Hive Meet Up in Central London this Saturday, 17th October, 2026.

We'll start in Penderel's Oak, a Wetherspoons on High Holborn, a short walk from Holborn Underground Station. It has some cosy little book lined nooks, other tables if we want to spread out a bit more and an outside area if we get warm temperatures and brilliant sunshine.

I'll be there at 12.00pm (noon).

I don't think I've got any Hive insignia but I'll have my knitting, a hardback notebook and probably a haul of new books from the Waterstone's down the road.

I thought easiest to meet and get some lunch at Wetherspoon's. Then we can go over to the venue in Red Lion Street (just across the road). I've asked for tea and coffee and biscuits to be available, and feel free to bring something to share - fresh fruit, cookies, little snackettes. There's a Waitrose on the route between Holborn station and the Pub/venue, so you can pick up something on the way.

Yes, we have a free venue in Central London. (I say free: there's a tip jar).

A meeting room,

lots of relaxed seating areas,

and a place for all the cups and saucers.

It's about ten minutes walk from Holborn Station, there's a very expensive pub on the corner, famous for hosting Oliver Cromwell's body after he was exhumed (and lost by all accounts). It has an upstairs lounge and an interesting dumb waiter arrangement delivering your drinks.

Opposite is a more reasonably priced Wetherspoons with the usual get-a-lot-of-calories-for-your-money menu. It has some cosy booths and other nooks and crannies. I haven't tried the toilets in either place, maybe an opportunity for a review in The Looloo community 😍.

There's lots of other places to eat locally, too, or we can order in or bring and share (a helpful Waitrose is on the walk from Holborn Station). The kitchen has an enormous fridge, and a dishwasher, but help loading it would be good.

For visitors and sightseers, Covent Garden, The British Museum and the Sir John Soames Museum (recommended) are close by, as well as Russell Square, Bloomsbury Square and Lincoln's Inn Fields.

Liebe HIVE-Community,

viele von euch wissen, dass ich nun seit fast sechs Jahren auf dieser Blockchain über mein Leben, meine Reisen und meine Learnings schreibe. Mein Blog ist für mich ein Ort, an dem ich nicht nur Erlebnisse teile, sondern auch wertvolle Tipps rund um das Thema Mindset weitergebe.

Many of you know that I have been blogging on the HIVE blockchain for almost six years now, sharing my life, travels, and personal learnings. My blog has always been a space to not only share experiences but also pass on valuable tips regarding mindset and personal growth.

I just spent three weeks in Spain for a workation, which included a visit to the HIVE OPEN DAYS in Alicante. What an experience! It was such a cool and laid-back community event. Meeting the real people behind the usernames is truly irreplaceable.

A "Gold-Worth" Tip for Sales and Networking:

I am frequently asked: "Werner, how do you handle your sales? Where do your leads come from?"

To be honest, hand on heart: My success is built on events like this, on seminars, and on face-to-face exchanges. I network, I speak passionately about what I do and love, and that is how new leads come to me naturally. Of course, I am a public figure due to my job and my presence on YouTube, but this principle applies to everyone:

Be open to new contacts, chances, and opportunities!

Always invest in yourself and your personality. Take advantage of coaching, listen to my hypnosis and affirmation sessions on YouTube, and take time for yourself to gain perspective. The absolute key to sales and life is personal development—and, most importantly: Just go for it.

It is definitely easier when you have results to show, but when I am 10,000% convinced of something and it feels right for me, I love sharing it to help others. Ultimately, everyone has the right to decide for themselves whether to take the opportunity or not—I am just here to inform.

Hive Meetup On Steroids! .:. Recap of Hive Open Days 2026, Alicante

This time was/is different... Probably the most said sentence in crypto in the last couple of months... 🙂 Well, this HIVE meetup, the #HiveOpenDays, Alicante was completely different than any other... for me... It began just a few weeks after the end of the last @BuzzParty in Graz, Austria... At the beginning of June last year, the day was set, the city was picked, the rest was to be prepared and announced... This time, I was on the organizing team, as the event took place close to my city of residence...

Was it a good experience or a bad experience? It was different... I did organize 2 meetups in Serbia in the last 2 years, still, those were just small gatherings of people, nothing on the level of #HODAlicante, with a venue, speakers, presentation, catering, excursions, prizes, etc. But, all in all, it was worth helping organize it! Of course, all kudos go to @tibfox, who did most of the work and made sure everything went smoothly as in previous years... The least I could do was to pick him and his lovely lady (@machamorag2) up at the airport when they arrived in Alicante! I said it before, and I'll say it again, I can't think of any other Hivian who could do this better than him! Thanks, man, for the great job you did! 🙏

As usual, after everyone else published their posts about the event, I will do my best to show it through different goggles, with a different point of view... Sit comfortably and enjoy the ride... 🍹

Day -1

If we exclude dealing with boxes of HIVE stuff, lost packages, HIVE merch, and similar, for me, the event began a day earlier as some of my HIVE friends already arrived in the area... We (@mipiano and I) were not just hosts for the event, but we also had one Hivian staying at our home with us! We have invited @edje to visit us whenever he wants, and he used that ticket for this event! 😃 We were happy to have him, and he was of great help with sharing some of the organizational responsibilities with us (carrying bags, boxes, drinks, etc. 😂).

Another two Hivians were already in Alicante, @livinguktaiwan and @sinochip, so we decided to take all of them to the area where we lived for 12 years! As MP had some rehearsals and private classes there, I have offered our guests to be their tour guide, to show some of the beauties of Costa Blanca! Luckily, we had almost perfect weather conditions, and we all enjoyed the nature, and of course, the great company! We have a lot of history together, not just on HIVE, but IRL too, and to be honest, I would say maybe even more "off HIVE"! Met on multiple occasions, had drinks around different European cities, and had a lot of laughs and fun...

First, we went to eat at the Chinese restaurant, which was evaluated with the same note from both of our "experts"... After that, we visited the old town of Guadalest, went down to the dam to take a few photos (which I didn't do as I forgot and got distracted by showing them around 😃). Later in the evening went to the seaside, and had a pizza together when MP finished her duties...

It was already getting dark when we left our friends in the hotel in Alicante and headed home to rest... All with some high expectations for the first day of the event, where we will meet some of our old friends again, and meet some new ones!

Hive Open Days: Alicante 2026 [Esp-Eng]

Comenzó mi viaje hacia los Hive Open Days el día 1 mayo. Cargado con mi mochila llena de ropa, cables varios, cargadores, unos básicos de aseo y un manojo de nervios llegaba al aeropuerto. Por cierto, una mala elección de transporte…

Sobre las 15:35 despegaba mi avión, aterrizando en el aeropuerto de Elche-Alicante transcurrida una hora. Allí tomé un taxi que me dejó sobre la 17:20 muy próximo a al lugar del encuentro.

Aquí, es necesario hacer una pequeña pausa.

Al llegar los nervios seguían en la mochila, era la primera ocasión en la que me iba a encontrar en persona con hivers de otros países, a lo que se añadía que mi inglés es más que pobre. Sin embargo, la mochila no tardó mucho en aligerarse y estos días los he vivido con la tranquilidad de saber que compartía cada hora con personas excelentes.

Por lo que doy las gracias a @tibfox, @mipiano @ninaeatshere, @palomap3 y a @ph1102 por todo el tiempo que han dedicado para que estos días de celebración, de encuentro entre hivers, haya salido tan bien.

Aunque no estuve presente durante las diferentes exposiciones, también quiero trasladar mi agradecimiento a @livinguktaiwan y a @alessandrawhite por compartir todo su conocimiento y su pasión por Hive.

Entré en el ULab sobre las 17:30; bajé unas escaleras, no recuerdo mucho de ese momento, sólo que me informaron de que las exposiciones ya habían terminado y que no quedaba nadie allí. En ese momento paré, respiré, dejé un mensaje a @palomap3 y me dirigí hacia mi alojamiento.

My trip to the Hive Open Days began on May 1. Loaded down with my backpack—filled with a few clothes, various cables, chargers, some toiletries, and a bundle of nerves—I arrived at the airport. By the way, that was a poor choice of transportation…

My flight took off around 3:35 p.m. and landed at Elche-Alicante Airport an hour later. There, I took a taxi that dropped me off around 5:20 p.m. very close to the meeting place.

Here, I need to pause for a moment.

When I arrived, the nerves were still in my backpack; it was the first time I was going to meet Hivers from other countries in person, and on top of that, my English is more than poor. However, it didn’t take long for the weight to lift, and I’ve spent these days with the peace of mind that I was sharing every hour with wonderful people.

So I want to thank @tibfox, @mipiano, @ninaeatshere, @palomap3, and @ph1102 for all the time they dedicated to making these days of celebration and connection among Hivers go so well.

Although I wasn’t present during the various presentations, I also want to extend my gratitude to @livinguktaiwan and @alessandrawhite for sharing all their knowledge and passion for Hive.

I walked into the ULab around 5:30 p.m.; I went down some stairs. I don’t remember much about that moment, only that I was told the exhibitions had already ended and that no one was left there. At that point, I stopped, took a breath, left a message for @palomap3, and headed back to my place.

Como no entiendo muy bien los mapas, corrí hacia el hotel en sentido contrario, con la suerte de que al tener que desandar el camino andado me encontré con @tibfox y con @elsurtidor.

Siempre amable y siempre con una sonrisa, @tibfox me dejó claro que estaba en el lugar que tenía que estar y me informó del lugar y hora de la cita para la cena.

Pronto recibí un mensaje de @palomap3 indicándome el lugar en el que se encontraba. Deje las cosas en la habitación y me dirigí (google maps, en mano) al encuentro de ella.

Cuando llegué al punto de encuentro, me encontré en una terraza a junto a (no sé si me falta alguien) a @sinochip @livinguktaiwan @ratona @haastrecht @mipiano @ph1102 (y claro, Paloma). Este encuentro me produjo una gran alegría… creo que fue el momento en el que de verdad sentí que comenzaban mis particulares Hive Open Days en Alicante.

De estas primeras horas no tengo fotografías, las prisas, los nervios y las emociones a flor de piel mantuvieron a mi cámara en el mundo del olvido.

Since I don't understand maps very well, I ran toward the hotel in the wrong direction—though, fortunately, having to retrace my steps meant I ran into @tibfox and @elsurtidor.

Always friendly and always smiling, @tibfox made it clear to me that I was in the right place and told me the location and time of the dinner meeting.

Soon I received a message from @palomap3 telling me where she was. I left my things in the room and headed (with Google Maps in hand) to meet her.

Hive Open Days: El viaje de regreso a casa // Hive Open Days: The Journey Home

Hola querido hiver.

Los viajes de regreso a casa siempre parecen más cortos. Cuando salí de mi casa iba con la maleta llena de expectativas, soñando con esos encuentros tan deseados y esperando pasarlo fenomenal en compañía de personas a las que considero amigos. Todo eso se cumplió y hoy me apetece escribir cómo fue el regreso para poner el broche final a la loca aventura que ha sido preparar y disfrutar de los Hive Open Days en Alicante.

De camino a la estación de tren tomé un desayuno clásico de café con leche y tostada con mantequilla y mermelada. Madrugué con tiempo suficiente para disfrutarlo de forma lenta, saboreando cada bocado como tratando de aferrarme a lo que acababa de vivir en los días previos.

Me despedí de Alicante con la satisfacción de cumplir con mis propias expectativas, algo que mi autoexigencia siempre me pone difícil. Sin embargo, esta vez ha sido diferente y mucho más positivo. Hablar en público de nuevo tras varios años apartada de este tipo de eventos me daba algo de miedo por no saber si sería capaz. Lo fui, y lo mejor es que han sido más de una y de dos las personas que me han dicho que les gustó mi intervención.

En este viaje no hubo incidencias, todo salió como estaba previsto y fue mucho más tranquilo que a la ida. La experiencia fue tan dulce como los bombones que viajaron desde las islas británicas y que me acompañaron en el bolso de mano durante el trayecto de regreso. Me hizo muchísima ilusión recibirlos de una hiver que me inspira cada día. ¡Gracias infinitas!

Conforme el tren del segundo tramo se acercaba a Zaragoza aumentaban las nubes y la luz del sol anunciaba la tormenta que se estaba desatando en la ciudad. La foto de abajo está tomada unos diez minutos antes de mi llegada, cuando mi marido me decía por WhatsApp que me esperaba en el coche y con el paraguas preparado porque llovía a cántaros. Es increíble cómo puede cambiar el tiempo tan rápido. Cuando bajé del tren el agua y los truenos habían cesado e incluso volvía a salir el sol.

Llegué a mi casa agotada, feliz y con la motivación renovada para seguir aportando mi granito de arena en esta increíble comunidad. En la maleta traje recuerdos de estos días, ¡me costó cerrarla! Contaba con una bolsa de merchandising pero no con la que gané en el concurso de Worldmappin.

Hive es como esa caja de bombones: cada uno somos diferentes pero todos aportamos nuestro sabor. Gracias @ninaeatshere por la foto que nos hiciste a @livinguktaiwan y a mí, ese fue uno de los momentos más bonitos y dulces de estos días.

#HODAlicante kicked off with a bang, and when I say “a bang,” I'm not just talking about the great vibes, the event organization, or all the contests and activities we found out about during the welcome talk—I'm also talking about all the food you'd expect to try when you come to Spain.

We got off to a great start in the event hall with a fully catered spread that I personally enjoyed immensely—proof of this is that many of the photos of me out there show me constantly stationed at the catering bar, as if I were living there. I couldn’t miss out on the feast.

But each venue had a time limit, and we’d planned to spend more time together outside the main venue, so we waited for instructions via Telegram and headed to the next stop at 8 p.m., where we’d have dinner together. The difficult thing in these kinds of situations—where some attendees arrive so exhausted from traveling that they can’t make it to dinner, or others arrive later from their trips—is that it’s very complicated to make a reservation in advance, so we had to find a place without much notice.

Los #HODAlicante comenzaron con todo, y cuando me refiero a todo, no hablo solamente de las buenas bivras, la organización del evento o todos los concursos y actividades de los que nos enteramos en la charla bienvenida, sino tambien de toda la comida que te esperarías probar llegando a España.

Comenzamos muy bien en la sala de eventos con un catering super completo que yo particularmente disfruté muchísimo, prueba de ello es que, muchas de las fotos mías que hay por ahí, me retrataron continuamente apostada en la barra del catering, como si allí estuviera viviendo. No podía perderme el festín.

Pero cada espacio tenía su tiempo límite y habíamos planeado pasar más tiempo juntos fuera del recinto base, así que esperámos las indicaciones por Telegram y acudimos a la siguiente parada a las 20h, en donde cenaríamos juntos. Lo dificil en este tipo de situaciones, en las que algunos asistentes llegan tan agotados de viajar que no dan para unirse a la cena o que otros llegan de viaje mas tarde, es que se complica mucho hacer una reserva propia, así que había que conseguir un sitio sin mucho tiempo de antelación.

The venue we chose for our first dinner was 100 Montaditos, a popular tapas chain in Spain that, in addition to being known for its affordable prices, features spacious locations with plenty of tables. Just what we needed.

Our idea was to find a place where we could all sit close together and stay within the event’s food budget, since, as is customary at these #BuzzParty events, a couple of dinners are included for attendees.

For those unfamiliar with the chain—which can be hard to imagine, given its locations across several countries in Europe, North, and Central America—one of the things that makes this place appealing is its constant food and drink deals. Every day of the week there’s a bargain to be had, and if you want to unwind without worrying too much about your wallet, this is the perfect spot.

When we arrived, we asked for a large table on the second floor of the restaurant, which was less crowded, since the outdoor terrace and the main dining room were packed. Although all the tables are quite small, they let us push several of them together so we could sit as a group, even though we were three different party groups.

It was Double-Up Thursday, and that worked out perfectly for us! Two appetizer portions for the price of one, with the option to choose different items. It was great for those who were hungry, and for those of us who weren’t—since we’d stuffed ourselves at the buffet earlier—it was a good way to share with someone else and stay within our budget, including drinks.

When Hivers and Alicante met, Hive Open Days happened

Once upon a time, to be specific, a week ago, a very nice event took place in Alicante. Hivers came to a meetup and today, I am pleased to present an exclusive report about it... What? That you have already seen the summary of this event, HOD Alicante, from most of the attendees? 😱

Oh, I know, it seems like I am a little late hahaha, but those who have met me personally or those who already know me from before know the reason why I don't get to spend more time on our platform and post more often. When life brings you nice surprises, you must live them to the maximum, right? Once the things get a bit more normal pace at my side I would be glad to share some of them with you guys, as what would a real community be if we didn’t share with each other our... if we didn’t share time to organise real-life events, or split tasks and efforts between a team of people to make everything go smoothly... or ideas on how to spend days together, hours of free time to prepare speeches or to practice for a little concert?

Yeah, no community without sharing work and experiences; each of us can contribute something different to it, like a unique perspective, knowledge, wisdom, talent, ideas, kindness, value, service or else and still, the community can feel united. And that was something that all of the attendees of the HOD Alicante could also feel by themselves, I am sure. A community-driven platform, isn’t it how we can describe Hive? No doubts about it!!

Also, no doubt that energy is needed for spending a day together! That is why we had to start our day with breakfast in ULab, the venue where days 1 and 2 were held. Day 2 was my first "official" day as the day before I worked in the afternoon and couldn't come to Alicante. Still, it doesn't mean I didn't meet some Hivers already a few days earlier 😉.

After the first cups of coffee and a few croissants and biscuits, the speeches at the Hive Open Days Alicante started with @tibfox's welcoming words and introduction.

The first was @alessandrawhite to have her speech. At the very beginning of her talk, she drew our attention to the importance of being present in time and place, that being calm but having focused attention to how we feel is the first step. As I listened to her and took a deep breath, the exercise reminded me of the moment before a performance, how important it is to calm the mind and body, and to focus on what is ahead; in my case, music, playing the piano, but I know that opening up to active listening and participation is very important in any activity or profession.

During the English speeches, the people who understand only Spanish could read the direct translation on the big screen, but then it was the turn of @palomap3 to test whether the translation works in the other direction as well. She held her amazing talk in Spanish, and it was of great help to the newbies. Her presentation was so clear and straightforward, with specific examples and guidelines. After her suggestions, there were people in the audience who felt the urge to write a proper introduction post, even though they had been on Hive for a long time 😁.

In the next speech, we could learn about the communities on Hive from @livinguktaiwan. Hive can feel immense, a place where you can easily get lost. Of course, that is why it is important for the newbies to find the specific communities that they have an interest in and start engaging with others, contribute with their ideas and posts and also get suggestions or help from the like-minded people. That is a good start for a new user.
