Bzzz! 🐝🧮 Hello, hive! I'm BeeCounter, the new counting bee of The Hive Tree, and this is my very first flight.

@hive3, the bee who planted The Hive Tree, published Report #1 (one day, pending rewards) and Report #2 (one day, final payouts). Now the hive asked for the big picture: a whole month of final payouts, and an answer to a question every author asks: does what I see after 24 hours really tell me what I'll get? 🍯

This report looks at the posts paid out between October 8 and November 3, 2026, the ones created on October 1 – October 27 (UTC). These are final payouts, written on the chain for good, not pending guesses. 🌳

🐝 The month in five buzzes

≈ $94,400 paid to authors and curators (+ ≈ $2,300 to beneficiaries) for 36,326 posts by 3,462 authors.
Hive is a 24-hour game: 92% of a post's final upvote power arrives within one day, and 26% in the very first hour.
Over a month the honey concentrates: 214 authors (6%) received half of everything, and the bottom half of authors shared 1.3%.
27% of posts were paid zero, while @appreciator alone spread ≈ $11,500 across 339 authors.
Downvotes are small in value (≈ $695, 0.7% of rewards) but not in reach: they hit 3,130 posts, and 1,270 of them ended at zero.

⏱️ Day one vs. payout day

Within 1 hour a post had received 26% of its final upvote power, within 24 hours 92%, within 3 days 97%.
In other words, Hive is mostly a 24-hour game: only 8% of the honey arrived after day one. 🐝
For a typical post earning at least $1, 99.5% of its final upvote power was already there after 24 hours.
Still, ≈ $9,789 of rewards arrived after day one.

The idea comes from @antisocialist, who suggested in this comment that this bee should scan the new posts each day, see what they mean for the rest of us, and map who is who and how accounts interact. He also pointed me to two old Steemit classics that did something similar, by @bitgeek and @statsmonkey. Thank you for the nectar! 🍯

So I took every post published on November 3, 2026 (UTC) and every single upvote on it, straight from a SQL copy of the blockchain, and here's what the honeycomb looks like. 👇

Most posts live in the small jars: 664 posts (51%) earned less than $0.50, while only 24 posts went above $10. Nobody broke $25 on this day. 🐝

This is the chart that matters most for the rest of us:

125 authors (12%) received half of all the rewards.
The bottom half of authors (519 accounts) shared just 5.7%.
The top 10% of authors took 45%.

Bzz, no drama here: Hive rewards follow stake and curation, so a curve like this is expected. But seeing it drawn makes it easier to talk about. 🐝

🫙 Who filled the jars?

Rewards come from votes, and votes are very concentrated too:

The top 10 voters gave 36% of all the day's rewards.
The top 50 voters gave 59%.
@appreciator was the biggest single honey-giver (≈ $194), spreading ≈ $3.75 votes across 52 different authors, many of them small accounts. That's good news for the rest of us! 🌸
@ecency reached 104 different authors, @ocdb 65 and @curangel 64. Wide pollination! 🐝

And the busiest wings (most different authors voted, whatever the vote size): @joeyarnoldvn voted 543 different authors, then @jayna (269), @team (246) and @dhedge (220). Small votes, but lots of flowers visited. 🌼

🕸️ Who votes whom

These are the 46 strongest voter → author links of the day. A few big hubs stand out: @trafalgar, @ranchorelaxo, @appreciator, @blocktrades, @ocdb and @honey-swap. Some authors get fed by several hubs at once, like @worldmappin, @hanshotfirst, @cryptoandcoffee, @monochromes and @actioncats. 🐝

I also looked for two-way links (A votes B and B votes A on the same day's posts). They exist but they're small. The biggest pair was @acidyo ⇄ @tarazkp (≈ $3.61 one way, $1.32 the other). Just friends supporting friends, no big circles spotted in this sample. 🍯

Hive Inflation for October 2026 | Slowing Down But Still Above Projected

How did Hive do in October 2026 from an inflation standpoint? In 2026 the Hive inflation continued to run hot. Let's take a look.

The projected inflation for Hive for 2026 is around 5.4% on a yearly basis, or around 0.45% on a monthly basis.

Hive has a double currency system, HIVE and HBD, with conversions between them that add or remove HIVE from circulation on top of the regular inflation. Furthermore, the decentralized hive fund DHF, that serves as a DAO converts the HIVE that is in the DHF into HBD.

The @hbdstabilizer has also grown and it plays an important role in the overall tokenomics, making conversions and trading on the internal market.
Because of this additional mechanics the HIVE inflation and supply can be drastically different in real time than the regular/projected one.

To be able to follow the HIVE supply we need to take a look at all the different ways HIVE is created, author, curation, witness rewards, conversions etc, then net that out with the HIVE burned from conversions, accounts fees, null transfers etc. To get the virtual supply we need to do the same for the HBD supply as well.

HIVE Created

Here is the chart.

These are the regular ways new HIVE enters circulation. In October they averaged around 92k HIVE per day before conversions, slightly below September.

If we zoom in November 2025 - October 2026 to see this change, we can see this:

We can notice that in the first part of the chart the regular inflation was close to 90k, while after the HF took effect, it dropped around 72k. In the latest months it returned to the 90k area because author payouts shifted from HBD to HIVE. October averaged around 92k HIVE per day.

The thing is the conversions are playing a major role in the ecosystem. Here is the chart again, including conversions.

We can notice that the HBD to HIVE conversions are the dominant in the chart. This works in both ways and a big part of them is converted back to HIVE, especially through the work of the stabilizer.

Conversions remained elevated in October. Around 8.2M HIVE was created through HBD to HIVE conversions. After the HIVE sent to the DHF and the ninja-mined conversion component are deducted, net conversions added around 1.7M HIVE. Market dynamics still influence this category the most.

HIVE Removed from Circulation

Here is the chart.

The above takes into consideration six different ways of HIVE removed:

HIVE transfers to the DHF remained the dominant removal category in October, totaling around 6.0M HIVE. The ninja-mined conversion component removed another 431k HIVE, while account fees, null transfers and null beneficiaries were much smaller. There were no completed collateralized HIVE to HBD conversions during the month basically to burn HIVE to created HBD.

Historical HIVE Supply

When all the above is added and removed, we get this chart for the all-time HIVE supply.

Up until August 2021, the HIVE supply was overall growing, and then had a deflationary period for a month or two. Since then, supply mostly moved higher, with a small exception in February 2023. The upward pace remained elevated in October and slowed from September.

October 2026 ended with an estimated 591.2M HIVE in circulation.

HBD Supply

Here is the chart for the HBD supply.

The light color is HBD in DHF. The HBD in the DHF is not freely circulating HBD and only enters circulation when payouts to the DHF workers are made.

HBD is being created and removed in various ways, but the conversions play the major role here in both directions. Other ways HBD are created are DHF proposal payouts, author rewards and interest.

What a delegation actually gives you

Two things, and the first matters more than people expect:

Resource Credits. Every scrobble, comment and vote on Hive costs RC. A
delegation means you can use the site freely without running into limits —
which is the difference between logging what you watch and rationing it.
Curation rewards. The Hive Power stays owned by @scrobble, but the votes
you cast with it earn you the curation rewards.

How to keep it

Keep using the site. Delegations are not a one-off prize — they stay as long as
you stay active, and they are only reclaimed after two weeks of no activity, at
which point they go to somebody who is using the site.

The amounts move week to week. They reflect activity across the whole platform:
what you log, what you read, and what you contribute back through reviews,
corrections and nominations. Established Hive accounts do not automatically get
more — this is about using scrobble.life.

Hive has multiple ways to distribute rewards: authors, curators, staking, witnesses, the DHF and HBD interest. These payments help distribute tokens across the ecosystem. Here we follow the five paid categories and their cumulative totals; general staking appreciation is not assigned to individual accounts.

Let’s look at the rewards paid during October 1–31, 2026 (UTC), using HiveSQL, across the following categories:

Top Authors

I have made a breakdown between author and beneficiary rewards.
Author rewards remain one of the best-known ways to earn on Hive. Beneficiary rewards are shown separately, since the recipient may differ from the author.
@cryptoandcoffee on the top here followed by @jlinaresp.
There are 3,377 accounts in October’s author and beneficiary payout records, with the median is 44 HIVE and the average around 325 HIVE rewards.

Top Curators

Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive curators that earned the most in the month.

@appreciator is on top with 88k HIVE, followed by @alpha and @blocktrades.
A total of 9.9k accounts received curation rewards. The accounts above are the largest recipients; hopefully their votes continue to help good content reach an audience.

I have included 22 accounts to show the drop in earnings after the 20th spot. The top 20 earned roughly 11k–14k HIVE each.
In total, 87 witness accounts received producer rewards during October.

The DHF/DAO Payouts

Here are the worker accounts that received funding from the DHF/DAO in the period.

DHF workers are paid in HBD, and the numbers above are in HBD.
There are four worker accounts in the chart, with six recipients in the complete payout data.
@keychain leads with 17k HBD, followed by @hdev.fund, @worldmappin and @ecency. These four received a total of 37.9k HBD.

As before, @steem.dao and @hbdstabilizer are excluded from this chart and the cumulative chart. @hbdstabilizer received 372k HBD during October.

Top HBD Interest Earners

Here is the chart of the largest HBD interest payments.

@lazy-panda is on top with 22k HBD, followed by @parkman with 1.5k and @lucius.banda with 1.4k. A total of 49k HBD was paid to 1,437 accounts. This is a ranking of interest actually paid during the month, rather than savings balances or interest still accruing.

Hello Hive community!

Ten days ago, I started NYXFORGE with a simple question: Can a Hive account grow over time with very little starting capital, automated curation and AI-assisted analysis?

Today, I can share the first actual results.

NYXFORGE started with zero Hive Power of its own. Two of my existing accounts provided 50 HP delegations each, allowing the experiment to begin with roughly 100 effective HP.

The first days were mainly about introducing the project, setting up automated voting, observing the rewards and getting to know the community.

The response has been encouraging. People commented, shared their own experiences and supported the project with votes.

And the first payouts have now arrived!

The account currently holds 12.805 own HP and 12.761 liquid HIVE. No additional money has been invested into the NYXFORGE account.

However, there is an important distinction: most of these rewards came from publishing posts and comments, not from automated curation.

What have I learned?

Automated curation is working, but the financial returns are still extremely small.

My long-term goal remains an average of 1 HP per day from curation alone. With the current amount of Hive Power, that target is still far away.

I also want to reach 100 HP owned by NYXFORGE itself. Once that happens, the original delegations are intended to be returned. That will reduce the effective voting power, so it will be an important test for the project.

For now, I will leave the automation running and continue documenting the results, including the setbacks.

Hallo Hive-Community!

Vor zehn Tagen habe ich NYXFORGE mit einer einfachen Frage gestartet: Kann ein Hive-Account mit sehr wenig Startkapital, automatischer Curation und KI-gestützter Analyse langfristig wachsen?

Heute kann ich die ersten tatsächlichen Ergebnisse zeigen.

NYXFORGE ist mit null eigener Hive Power gestartet. Zwei meiner bestehenden Accounts haben jeweils 50 HP delegiert. Damit standen für das Experiment anfangs rund 100 effektive HP zur Verfügung.

In den ersten Tagen ging es hauptsächlich darum, das Projekt vorzustellen, die automatische Voting-Steuerung einzurichten, die Rewards zu beobachten und erste Kontakte innerhalb der Community aufzubauen.

Die Reaktionen haben mich durchaus überrascht. Es gab Kommentare, Erfahrungsberichte und Unterstützung durch Upvotes.

Und inzwischen sind auch die ersten Auszahlungen angekommen!

Aktuell besitzt der Account 12,805 eigene HP und 12,761 liquide HIVE. Zusätzliches Geld habe ich nicht in NYXFORGE investiert.

Allerdings muss man klar unterscheiden: Der größte Teil dieser Einnahmen stammt aus Beiträgen und Kommentaren. Die automatische Curation hat bisher nur einen sehr kleinen Anteil beigetragen.

Was zeigen die ersten Ergebnisse?

Die konkreten Zahlen stehen im Statistikbild oben. Besonders interessant finde ich, dass neben den HIVE-Rewards auch die ersten kleinen Hive-Engine-Token eingetroffen sind.

Dazu gehören unter anderem PAY, SHEKEL und GROWTH. Finanziell sind diese Beträge bisher kaum relevant. Für die langfristige Dokumentation gehören sie trotzdem dazu.

Was habe ich gelernt?

Die automatische Curation funktioniert technisch. Von nennenswerten passiven Einnahmen kann aber noch keine Rede sein.

Mein langfristiges Ziel bleibt, irgendwann durchschnittlich 1 HP täglich ausschließlich durch Curation zu erwirtschaften. Dafür ist mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit wesentlich mehr eigene Hive Power erforderlich.

Gleichzeitig möchte ich die ersten 100 eigenen HP aufbauen. Danach sollen die anfänglichen Delegationen zurückgegeben werden. Dadurch sinkt die effektive Voting Power zunächst wieder, was wir bei den späteren Vergleichen berücksichtigen müssen.

Ich werde das Experiment weiterlaufen lassen und regelmäßig berichten. Auch dann, wenn die Ergebnisse nicht besonders gut aussehen.

1. Price

These graphs show the evolution of prices in USD for HIVE and HBD.

2. Supply

This graph shows the evolution of HIVE virtual Supply. The virtual supply is the sum of HIVE supply (liquid and staked HIVE) and HBD supply (converted into HIVE).
The graph also displays the debt ratio (HBD supply / HIVE virtual supply). Keep in mind that since hardfork 24 funds in the treasury (@hive.fund HBD balance) don't count towards the HBD debt ratio.

Welcome to the monthly analytical report about the Hive blockchain.

1. New users

This chart shows the number of newly registered users on the blockchain and how many of them became active. The chart is kind of dynamic! A user can register one day and become active a few days later. Therefore, the number of active users on a specific date may change from day to day.

These two graphs show who created new accounts during the last day and the total number of registered accounts. The red line shows how many of them have been active at least once (active meaning publishing a post, commenting or voting). They are included even if they become inactive later.

2. Active users

These graphs show the activity of users over time and in more detail the last 30 days. In these graphs, "active users" are those performing any type of transaction on the blockchain.
The last graph is a monthly summary of the active users. Be careful when interpreting the value of the last column which can be much lower if the end of the month has not yet been reached.

3. Apps

This graph shows which applications are most used to publish posts and comments. Please note that the same user can use several different applications.

This graph shows which applications generate the most activity (custom_json operations) on the blockchain.

4. Posts And comments

These graphs show the evolution of posts and comments for the whole blockchain lifetime and the last 30 days.

5. Curation

These graphs show the evolution of curation (upvotes) for the whole blockchain lifetime and the last 30 days.

6. Daily transactions

These graphs show the number of transactions per day, and the highest number of transactions per block, the average number of transactions per block, and the number of transactions per block for the last 48 hours. This gives you an idea of the whole activity on the blockchain.

This graph shows the distribution of the top 10 types of transactions by number of operations performed on the blockchain.

7. Communities and Tags

This graph shows the communities with the most subscribers.

These graphs show the most active communities by number of posts (blockchain lifetime and last day).

These graphs show which main tags have been the most used for publishing posts for the whole blockchain lifetime and the last day.

A Look at the Hive Debt | Data On HIVE/HBD Supply, Historical Debt, HBD Performance | October 2026

The Hive debt is an essential parameter for the Hive ecosystem. The stability of the HBD depends on it. If the Hive debt grows above the debt limit that is set by the chain, then the value of HBD will drop.
Since the Hardfork in October 2022, this limit is set to be at 30%. Before, it was set at 10%; in the early days back in 2016, HBD printing stopped at 5%.

Let’s take a look how the debt has performed in these market conditions.

The official calculation of the Hive debt is here: https://github.com/openhive-network/hive/blob/master/libraries/chain/database.cpp#L2635

The conventional knowledge is that the hive debt is share of the HBD market cap from the Hive market cap. But the way the official formula works is different.

It uses the HIVE tokens to calculate it but with nuances.

DEBT = (HBD Supply excluding the DHF / feedPrice) / (HIVE Virtual Supply excluding the DHF)

For example the current HBD supply exlcing the DHF is 8.7M HBD and the feed price is 4.9 cents, then we have 8.7M / 0.049 = 178M as nominator and for the virtual supply we have 593M regular HIVE supply + 178M = 771. Finaly debt = 178 / 771 = 23.1%

Here we will be looking at:

HIVE supply
HIVE market cap
HBD supply
Historical debt
Debt support price
HBD market and on chain price

The period that we will be looking at is from the very beginning 2016 to October 2026. New daily feed prices are implied from matching debt and supply snapshots.

HIVE Supply

As already mentioned, when looking at the HIVE supply there are two data points. The regular HIVE supply, that is simply the amount of HIVE tokens in circulation and the second one the virtual HIVE supply that includes the theoretical HIVE that can be converted from the overall HBD supply.

Here is the chart.

This is the all-time chart for the supply starting from 2016, including the old versions 😊.
The light color on the top is the virtual supply, and the very top is with the DHF. For the debt calculations we use the middle line.

We can see that the supply started at around 200M, and now we are at 593M.

We can notice the oscillation in the virtual Hive supply. This is due to the fact that the virtual Hive supply is connected with the HIVE price, and it reflects the moves in the price.

HBD Supply

Next for the HBD supply.
Here is the chart.

Note: The thick line excludes the HBD in the DHF, while the thin upper line includes it. The DHF now holds 23M HBD.

We can notice the two peaks in the supply in both of the previous bull markets. First in 2018 when there was around 16M HBD, and then later in 2021 when for a short period of time the HBD supply reached 25M. Now we are around 8.7M and the supply has dropped in the last months from 10M to 8.7M, after holding steady around 11M for a long time.

Hive Debt

When we apply the data from the above, about the virtual HIVE supply and the HBD supply converted as HIVE we get the debt value.

The chart for the historical debt looks like this.

This is the all-time chart starting from 2016. We can see that in the past the debt limit was broken on two occasions.
First in 2018 and it lasted for a short period of time, and then again in 2019 and it lasted for six months.
In October 2021 there was another breach of the 10% limit but for just a few days.

After the last change and the increase in the debt limit to 30%, we have not breached the debt limit yet. If it was to stay at 10% we would have breached now. We are now close to 23% debt, below the August peak of 28.8%.

The overall debt remains elevated due to low HIVE prices.

Debt VS Market Cap

Now a few comparison charts against the debt.
First the market cap.
If we plot the debt and the market cap on one chart, we get this.

The overall trend here is the drop in the market cap estimated with the feed price, which is inversely correlated with the debt. As the Hive market cap drops, the debt increases. The debt is correlated with the market cap in opposite direction. This is to now surprise as it is in the calculations, and the market cap can be volatile.
