Today I’ve gone for a dark brown shade. To achieve this colour, I had to mix two colours – you’ll see in the step-by-step guide. I hope you like it.

Como puedes apreciar en la primera imagen, el tono de marrón era muy claro, así que mezcle con color negro para llegar a una tonalidad más oscura.

Luego de hacer la bolita, aplano con la tapa de plástico, presiono con el dedo pulgar la parte central inferior para formar la panza, una hendidura que es lo que lo hace llamar worry stone, ya que tiene la forma del dedo y al presionar se supone que nos calma la ansiedad.

Realizo una bolita con foami color carne, debe ser una capa delgada al aplanarlo, luego aplica pegamento y lo pegas en la hendidura.

Toma dos trozos del mismo tamaño, mismo color y moldea dos cilindros.

As you can see in the first image, the shade of brown was very light, so I mixed in some black to achieve a darker shade.

After making the little ball, I flattened it with the plastic lid, pressing down with my thumb on the lower centre to form the belly – a hollow that’s what gives it the name ‘worry stone’, as it’s shaped like a finger and is supposed to calm our anxiety when pressed.

I made a small ball out of flesh-coloured foam; it should be a thin layer when flattened. Then I applied glue and stuck it into the indentation.

Take two pieces of the same size and colour, and shape them into two cylinders.

My little dog Oddie has been in training for weeks. At one point, I used a choke collar—one I’d originally bought for my Golden Retriever but never used because I didn't really like it—simply because the trainer recommended it. However, it ended up snapping, and my dog didn't like it either. So, I decided to make one using macramé; the material is gentler and less harsh. Besides, I don't really like relying heavily on the collar for pulling, so I prefer to balance the tension between the leash and the collar. Anyway, I set to work buying the materials so I could make it as soon as possible.

Paracord: Based on my dog's neck size, I bought 10 meters (though I miscalculated and actually only needed 8 meters—4 meters of each of the two different colors). Since there was a promotion—10 meters for $3.50—I decided to get it all in a single color, but you can use two, three, or more colors depending on the design you want to create. For this specific design, only two colors are used.
Rings: You need different sizes so that one can pass through the other. I found two sizes with a noticeable difference; ideally, the size difference should be minimal—just enough for one to fit through the other—but these were the ones I could find. It was a bit of a challenge to source them, as I needed to avoid rings that weren't fully closed, which would have snapped under the tension.

Step by step

STEP 1: Measure the diameter of the dog's neck.

To figure out the total amount of paracord needed, you multiply the diameter by four—though four and a half is also an option; it’s better to have too much than not enough. If anyone knows how to accurately calculate the required cord length based on neck diameter, I’d appreciate the info. I don’t have photos of myself measuring my dog’s neck because he wouldn’t sit still for it, so I just eyeballed it.

STEP 2: Tie a knot.

We take the rings and place them at the end, spacing them according to the neck measurement—though in my case, I made it longer because it was intended to function as a slip-collar (spoiler: it turned out much longer than it should have). You can use tape to hold the rings in place while you work. If you are using two-colored cords, you can join them by melting the tips and pressing them together—they will fuse automatically—but since I am using a single color, I simply find the midpoint of the 8-meter length, pass it through the ring (as shown in the following images), and tie a knot.

Next, we pass the ends of the cords through the top ring, as shown in the image, to tie the knots; we will call the left cord "cord 1" and the right cord "cord 2." We take "cord 2" and pass its end underneath itself, forming a loop; then, we pass the end through that same loop again, pull it tight, and the knot is complete. We repeat the same procedure with cord 1, ensuring the loose ends of the cords remain on the outside.

If you are using cords of the same color—so you don't get mixed up like I did—I attached a small piece of tape to cord #2 to mark it as the one that will move the most (you'll see what I mean). Now that the knots are securely in place, let's move on to the weaving:

How I saved the day [ENG/ESP]

Good morning, everyone. It's a beautiful day, and my aunt is getting ready to go to a gathering tomorrow, but she doesn't have anything to wear.

The thing is, she just got back from town and didn't bring her clothes with her.

So what am I here for? I told her, "Auntie, don't worry. It's already nighttime, but I'll make you a pretty dress so you can wear it to that gathering."

I went to get my supplies, which are:

I got started right away by taking her measurements and marking them on the fabric. Next, I traced them with chalk to have a guide when cutting.

My aunt told me she wanted a full lining, so I simply placed the fabric on top of the lining and cut along the outline.

Some of you might be wondering what a lining is: it's what's used to turn the neckline inside out on a woman's dress. But it's not just that; people always prefer their dresses to be lined, and for the lining to be of good quality.

After cutting the lining, I positioned the neckline pattern and sewed it to the neckline before joining the lining pieces together, so that the lining would help turn the neckline inside out.

Después de cortar el forro, coloqué el diseño del cuello y lo cosí al cuello antes de unir las piezas del forro, para que este ayudara a dar la vuelta al cuello.

Así es como queda después de dar la vuelta al forro tanto en la parte delantera como en la trasera.

Paper Double Storage Pencil Box

I made a double storage pencil box this time. This one consists of two boxes of the same size, made by folding paper. The lid of the box is decorated with lines. I also added paper hearts and a picture of a white rabbit sitting in a cupcake. This one is made only with colored paper. I think this one would be really useful for pencils and pens. If I could make a bigger box using extra large paper, I think I could use it to store not only pencils but also other things. I show you step-by-step pictures of how to make it. I also write with texts.

First, cut a piece of pink paper by equal length and width with 21cm. Folded the paper in half four times and made a center point. Folded the four corners to the center point.

Unfolded the paper. Folded each corner over the center point and to the other side. I have marked four marks on the paper.

Folded the four corners to the second lines again. Folded the two opposite sides according to the folded lines and folded the two opposite corners as well. Then continue folding as shown to form a box. Folded another box in the same way. Cut two pieces of yellow paper with 15cm and 7.5cm. Placed them inside the boxes.

Measured and drew the lines on the green paper as shown. Cut the edges from the middle. Folded the lines and glued the edges together to form a box shape. Placed a pink box inside the green box. Glued the other box on top of that box.

To make the lid, measured and drew lines on the green paper. Cut a piece of purple paper and drew blue lines on it. Glued this paper on the lid. Folded the lines and attached this paper to the box. I also painted around the edges of the inside of the lid.

In this step, I cut four pieces of paper. I painted around their edges. I placed each two identical pieces of paper in the box as shown and made two locks.

Hello, dear friends! I hope you are all doing well. It has been nearly a month since I last shared my work with you; between so many other things, I simply didn't have much free time. However, I am back to tell you about one of my latest artworks, which was featured in an exhibition honoring my city's founding. The competition was dedicated to the city, and the theme required painting something related to it; I chose the railway—a place I pass by constantly and one that many of you have admired in my photographs. My painting was selected from a total of 180 entries, with only 50 pieces chosen in the end. Here, I’ll share how I created the painting and show you some photos from the exhibition. Let’s get started!

Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, tenía casi un mes sin compartir mis trabajos con ustedes, y es que entre tantas cosas no me quedaba mucho tiempo libre. sin embargo he regresado para comentarles de una de mis últimas obras de arte, la cual fue expuesta en una exhibición en honor a la fundación de mi ciudad. El concurso fue en honor a mi ciudad, donde la temática era pintar algo relacionado a la ciudad, yo elegí el ferrocarril, un lugar por el cual yo siempre estoy transitando y que muchos de ustedes han apreciado en mis fotografías. You know me—I like to do almost everything myself, even making my own painting canvases. I had a wooden stretcher frame lying around that just needed fabric, so I bought some, stapled it on, and created my canvas. To prime the fabric, I applied a homemade Gesso mixture, and just like that, my canvas was ready to paint on. I saved quite a bit of money by doing it this way.

Ya me conocen, y me gusta hacer casi todas las cosas por mi mismo, hasta el lienzo para pintar. Hace tiempo tenía un bastidor de madera que solo faltaba tela, así que la compré, le puse grapas y así hice mi lienzo. Para preparar la tela le puse una mezcla de Gesso casero hecho por mi, y así estuvo listo mi lienzo para pintar. Me ahorré bastante dinero tomando esta decisión.

There are three main subjects in this painting: the sky, the vegetation, and the train tracks—all of which hold great significance for me. I paint the sky aiming to capture a vibrant sunset; fortunately, my city is known for its beautiful sunsets, which dazzle all the residents with their vivid colors.

En este cuadro hay 3 protagonistas, el cielo, la vegetación y los rieles del tren, los tre tienen mucho significado para mi. Así que pinto el cielo buscando hacer un atardecer muy colorido, afortunadamente mi ciudad es conocida por tener hermosos atardeceres los cuales maravillan a todos los ciudadanos con sus colores tan vivos.

Our handmade lord Ganesha with clay ## a mother and child creation

Hello friends !

India is the land of the festival and diversity and those months till Diwali brings so many colours , joy and festival to us . Recently we celebrate Ganesha festival for 10 days . And on this occasion everyone celebrate it with their own way . Brings lord Ganesha idol at home or society or social place , do Pooja .

My son is studying in the kindergarten and school informed us to send clay with child as they will made Ganesha Idol . But unfortunately my son got sick that day and missed his school . He become said , so I helped him to make Ganesha idol at home. Festival become more special and memorable when we do these small activities with our little ones .

Here I wanna share the details and the final looks of our little Ganesha .

To make Ganesha idol we use clay , 2 piece moulded clay which is pink in colour. Also green and white colour stone to decorate the Ganesha . I don’t use this orange clay as It was extra.

First we smooth the clay and Made some rounds with the clay . First make the base and made the legs and put around the base .

Then we made stomach , face , trunk .

Now we add ears , hands and 1 and 1/2 teeth of the lord Ganesha . At this moment my son got excited because now he know the whole story of the elephant head and the broken tooth .

Now we made pagadi on head and modak ( lord favourite sweet ) and put the modak in the hand .

We also draw some details , we make eyes and gives some details with pencil .

Lord statue is ready , now it’s time to decorate that cute lord Ganesha .

So with white and green stone my son decorate his pagadi , put earnings , bracelet , anklets and some more things . This time his excitement level was next level .

At last we made one plate and big modak , and a stand of decoration . And here is the complete look of our lord Ganesha .

These types of activities brings joy and positivity. Also kids learn story and get excited. One more thing you spend some precious time with your little ones and make lifelong memories.

I wish lord Ganesha brings lots of happiness in our lives and keeps us happy .

Transforming a Blouse to a Bolero

I was bored, so I wanted to sew a little; the bad thing is that I don't know how to sew from scratch, only transform clothes, so I rummaged through my things for something that was worth it enough, but not so much that I'd feel bad if I ended up ruining it. Are you ready? Join me in this task where anything can happen.

But first, let's prepare our materials.

This is the little blouse I'll be transforming. It has a very pretty shape, a round neckline and the sleeves are one of my favorite styles. I loved it a lot just as it was, but I also felt it was very basic.

When I went on Pinterest, I just happened to find an image (link to the image here) that really caught my attention because the process seemed very simple, so today you'll join me to find out if it's as easy as it seems, and my red blouse will serve as a sacrifice in this experiment. We're going to turn this into a bolero.

The first step is to put the garment inside out. Then, take a pen or anything to mark a straight vertical line, from the neckline to the bottom edge; I did it with the help of the ruler. To know which is the middle of the garment, I measured with the ruler and divided it in two.

Once the line is made, we cut the garment. Here there was no turning back; if this didn't turn out well, I would have ruined a garment, hahaha.

Then, with the garment right side out, again, we're going to fold it inward to make the tunnel. I folded exactly 2 cm of fabric inward, and since I don't have those little hooks used in sewing to hold the fabric in place, I used hair clips.

The tunnel has to go through the whole blouse, including the neckline. I must admit that the sleeve and neckline part was very complicated because of the seams that were already there, but the important thing is to do it calmly.

Then I proceeded to sew to close that tunnel, making a stitch whose name I don't know, hehe, but it's just making a little stitch on the visible part of the garment. Just as seen in the photo on the right.

Now, we'll take the safety pin and hook it to the end of the ribbon. This hook helps us have a grip when we're sliding the ribbon inside the tunnel. So, then, we start putting the hook through one of the ends of the blouse.

This part of the process isn't rocket science, you just have to be patient and gradually gather the fabric and then slide the hook along.

Once the ribbon came out through the other end of the tunnel, we remove the safety pin and gather the fabric upward while holding both ends of the ribbon. Lastly, we make a pretty little bow to secure it.

And that would be it, this is the pretty result. (Update: at the moment of writing this post, I must inform you that I ended up changing the pink ribbon for a black elastic ribbon since I find it more comfortable to use. So, as a tip, you could use elastic ribbons so you can put on the bolero without having to undo the bow).

#1 Compré estas plantita en un vivero, me salió en 4,5$ es un tipo de suculentas y venía con su maceta de plástico, pero también he visto que venden estas macetitas en los chinos, asi que ue son faciles de conseguir, deben de vender en mango bajito también,luego la pinte con pintura acrílica negra, le dí tres capas de pintura para que quedara un color uniforme y espere a que secara.

Saludos comunidad artesana, te informamos sobre algunos ligeros cambios o ajustes en nuestras reglas para publicar tu contenido en nuestra comunidad, esto con miras a que mejores la calidad de tus publicaciones, puedas tener mayor visibilidad y alcance en curación.

Tener un feed armonioso es nuestra premisa, que además de que mantengamos la armonía en el estilo, diseño y nuestras presentaciones, podamos ser una comunidad modelo.

Muchas de nuestras normas, te servirán para que la apliques en tu blog y notarás la diferencia.

Recuerda que nuestro eslogan es: Somos Hive DIY La casa de los artesanos. Sin embargo, de vez en cuando tenemos espacios abiertos para quienes son fan no solo de la comunidad sino de los autores, las manualidades, el arte y todo lo que engloba este maravilloso mundo del Hazlo tú mismo.

Reglas:

Regla N° 1: Beneficiarios: Coloca a @hivediy como beneficiado en tu post con el 2%, esto será un gran aporte para el crecimiento del Hp de la comunidad. Tomamos muy en cuenta tu aporte y apoyo a la comunidad.

Regla N° 2: No toleramos el plagio ni el spam: Esto incluye que en tu blog hagas mas de una publicación al día, independientemente cual comunidad lo hicieras.

Regla N° 3: No toleramos el farming de votos, ni multicuentas.

Regla N° 4 :El uso de fuentes: Si usas fuentes para inspirarte, debes enunciarlas correctamente. Copiarte de otro proyecto por internet y aludir que es de tu autoría no es bien visto. Procura usar fuentes libres derechos de autor o Pinterest / RRSS.

Regla N° 5: El tamaño de la miniatura: Tu portada debe cumplir con el tamaño 1280 px por 720 px para no distorsionar el feed y permitir que podamos ver el producto.

Regla N° 6: Tu publicación debe ser modo tutorial paso a paso y ordenado, con su debida explicación debajo de cada imagen o bloques de imágenes.

Regla N° 7: Tu publicación debe tener las imágenes en bloques: Usa el formato tabla en tu maquetación (ver tutorial de cómo poner tus publicaciones usando tablas, cortesía de @gaboamc2393) Esto es porque colocar tu paso a paso con tiras de imágenes interminables, o collages lo hace ver desordenado y poco profesional. A menos que tu publicación no amerite mucho paso a paso y solo sea una imagen y abajo la descripción del paso a paso de esa imagen. Por favor no uses collages permítenos ver las imágenes en HD al hacer clic de forma independiente.

Si es muy difícil para ti usar el formato tablas, podrías juntar 4 imágenes en un solo bloque de esta forma, sin decoraciones o letras que quiten visibilidad a tu producto:

Regla N° 8: En tu publicación siempre debes colocar los materiales que utilizaste antes de explicar tu paso a paso.

Regla N° 9: Solo puedes compartir publicaciones que estén dentro del nicho, de lo contrario tu publicación podría ser muteada y si incurre en esta falta más de dos veces, será muteado de la comunidad.

Regla N° 10: Participa en todas nuestras iniciativas, bien sean las que son patrocinadas por Inleo o nuestras como Actívate! Ya que es para tu propio beneficio, trabajamos para ti.

Regla N° 11: Apoya a los miembros de la comunidad, con tu comentario, con tu voto. Apóyalos también cuando sean seleccionados como autores destacados.

Regla N° 12: Participa en nuestras actividades en Discord, está atento nuestras publicaciones ya que no tenemos días específicos.

Regla N° 13: Se respetuoso con todos miembros de la comunidad.

Regla N° 14: No uses lenguaje o imágenes ofensivas (NSFW)

Regla N° 15 Tus publicaciones puedes ser en ambos idiomas o en uno solo (ESP-ENG) bajo estas condiciones:

A- Para un solo idioma, las publicaciones deben sobrepasar las 400 palabras.

B- Para dos idiomas, las publicaciones deben sobrepasar las 800 palabras.
