"The weather is still sunny and warm, but those odd showers we've had seem to have brought a lot of fungi out. The forest was a bit damp and quiet today, so I thought it would be a good time for a proper fungi hunt. Rather than sticking to the main path, I spent my walk scanning the leaves, checking the fallen logs and the bases of trees to see what I could find."

Greetings everyone... welcome to my blog.

During the weekend I spent resting, I spent some time connecting with my son, who is currently abroad. He showed me the scenery of a place far from Peru's capital, where he had to carry out some special work assignments.

In his free time or during meal breaks, he takes the opportunity to walk around the area and photograph the landscapes. As it is an Andean country, there are places featuring classic mountain scenery and wonderful streams; he tells me the weather is divine. It is always cold, but the temperature is bearable—actually delightful for relaxing our bodies, minds, and spirits.

Just seeing the photos of the scenery makes me imagine the magic of the place. I don't recall the name; I only know it is quite far from Lima.

He was working there for several days and had to return at the start of the week. As he sent me photos and videos, he described the landscape—from its physical features to the weather and local activities.

That is why I always say I travel with them even while staying here; although I am not physically present, they describe each location to me, and I enjoy it immensely.

Saludos a todos... bienvenidos a mi blog.

El fin de semana que estuve de reposo, pasé rato conectada con mi hijo que se encuentra fuera del país, y me estaba mostrando los paisajes de un sitio lejos de la capital de Perú, donde tuvo que cumplir con labores extraordinarias.

En sus ratos libres o en horas de comer, él aprovecha de caminar por el lugar y fotografiar los paisajes. Como país andino, hay sitios que registran muchos paisajes típicos de montañas, con riachuelos maravillosos, y según me relata él, el clima es divino. Siempre hace frío, pero una temperatura soportable, más bien deliciosa para relajar nuestros cuerpos, mentes, y espíritus.

What is Negative Space Photography by Qurator's Photo Quest | Negative Space.

Negative space photography is a beautiful photographic technique that uses empty or uncluttered areas around the main subject to create a powerful, clean and often emotional image. Rather than filling the frame with details, the photographer deliberately leaves large areas of open space, such as an endless blue sky, a calm ocean, a plain wall, misty mountains or an empty street. The main subject might be a lone tree, a person walking along a beach, a bird sitting on a wire or a single flower standing against a simple background. By giving the subject room to breathe, negative space draws the viewer's attention directly to what matters most. Sometimes, the less we include in a photograph, the more powerful the image becomes.

What makes negative space photography so special is its ability to communicate feelings of peace, loneliness, freedom, simplicity and reflection. A tiny human figure standing beneath an enormous sky can express the vastness of nature, while a lone boat floating across a quiet ocean can create a wonderful sense of solitude. This technique works beautifully in both colour and black-and-white photography, where light, shadows, shapes and contrast can become the main elements of the composition. The secret is to look beyond the obvious subject and recognise the beauty of the space surrounding it. By simplifying the scene and removing distractions, photographers can create images that encourage people to pause, look more closely and feel something meaningful. In negative space photography, emptiness is not wasted space; it is an essential part of the story.

The image shows the horizon at the ocean with a overcast sky, with the except for a narrow band, through which the sun beams pass, creating a sensation of negative space. The photo was taken with the camera of a Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra using the 10x lens.

This photo is my entry in the Qurator’s Photo Quest of this week, the topic is ”negative space” . The rules of the contest can be read here.

Qurator's Photo Quest | Negative Space

Greetings, dear friends! Welcome to my blog. I’m participating once again in the photo contest organized by @qurator, Qurator's Photo Quest | Negative Space. I took this photo on a trip to the Araya Peninsula, Cruz Salmerón Acosta Municipality, Sucre State, Venezuela.

To get to Araya, you have to take a boat; you can also go by car, but the trip would be very long—many hours of driving. The fun part of traveling by boat is enjoying the scenery, seeing the sea, the mountains, the birds, and the sky, and feeling the sea breeze. It was a cloudy day, so the sea and the sky almost blended together.

This is my entry in Qurator's Photo Quest competition. Photos taken with my Xiaomi Redmi 9 phone.

Qurator | Photo Quest | Negative Space

Hello Everyone, it's truly wonderful experience to participate in 'Qurator Photo Quest' and today's topic is "Negative Space".

It's pretty exciting though, considering the said topic, that evokes fairly unique experience to witness, in the most outstanding manner.

Today, I am going to share couple of captures and for the first time, I am super amazed for a very simple reason and that is, for today...
"Less is significantly... exceptionally and proportionately More!!!", how exciting that can be!

My Dear Hivers, my outdoor, Sky Theme based pictures are based on strict compliance and on how dynamically, these actually... excellently... showcase, the interesting concept and principle of "Negative Space" in the best possible way and grab core attention. So, let's get going. Cheers!!!

Airplane in Flight

Quite noticably, the extreme small scale of the 'airplane' just so perfectly, dead centered, against enormous clear blue canvas, wonderfully and perfectly matches the literal, textbook definition of: "Negative Space," creating a feeling of immense distance and total unmatched freedom, like none other, against the vast skies, in the most significant manner.
It's definitely a Wowww feeling and true representation of the prompt. Enjoy watching.

Just notice... that... extremely pushing the 'brick chimney' to the 'far right edge' completely, ideally and visually creates an uber elite "Negative Space" picture, beautifully, and aesthetically leaving roughly around 85% or more, of the frame, as truly clear & pure, un-interrupted, enormous blue canvas, significantly.
That's definitely a visual impression, smartly created with its appropriate placement. Enjoy watching.

Street Lamp

For me, this one is definitely an interesting and 'brilliant minimalist composition', logically.
Hope you all like it.
The Street lamp that I have captured, being fairly tall and at a distance, it's lamp head is pretty tiny, seems isolated, and more so pushed/placed off-center, placing it into the lower left corner, like an ideal placement for the same, significantly leaving, roughly 95% of the frame... Just as an empty sky and such a huge blue canvas.

Statue Hand

Now, this one is very interesting aspect of placement to 'Negative Space' ratio.
Keenly observe the 'dark silhouette' of the hand, positioned in a particular form and pattern, pointing upward, indicating a position or probably a message to decrypt, placed in the 'far right edge' giving the picture a very powerful weightage and superbly balanced by significantly enormous soft blue 'Negative Space', perfectly matching the prompt. I am bedazzled. Capturing it was a sheer judgement which hopefully worked well, I believe so, thankfully.

Solitary Cloud

It's definitely a clean and peaceful view featuring an 'isolated cloud'. I am loving it.
I truly believe it to be a beautiful composition of 'natural minimalism'.
The thing to notice is that the cloud is isolated perfectly, against, a solid Blue Sky's enormous canvas. Creating an artistic impression. Hope you like it.

I just tried to create an immensely impressive impression of more of the Negative Space, since the prompt deeply demanded it, therefore this time...Less is More...for Sure!!!
