Hello everyone and happy new week.
Today I had an enjoyable experience
It wasn't too expensive but it was fun .
I decided to make use of my drawing material and to create what was in my mind

I know am just a beginner in drawing but I find peace and feel satisfied each time I could draw a piece.

Here are the materials I used

pencil
white piece of pa
eraser

Finally,I had the birds in the sky,the palm trees and the river bank made my drawing natural
Am super excited I could try some sketch

I made an Ankara gown for a colleague

Hello everyone @diyhub community.
Today am so glad and excited to share with you all the dress I made for my colleague
I really wanted to create something unique comfortable, elegant, and suitable for her

She had no style in mind,so I decided to help her and create one

Here are the materials I used in working

Ankara fabric
Scissors
Red satin
Measuring tape
black lining

First step
The first thing I did was to take her measurements, which included her waist, hip, shoulder, armhole, sleeve length, and the length of dress. After taking the measurements accurately, I used cutting out the pieces.

I started with the back design,I folded it into two, I marked out the shoulder,I had chosed shoulder with hand,there afer the burst, half-length and I marked out the length.

Next step
For the front part of the dress,I used a V neck design
I got my chalk,my tape and I started marking out on the red satin

Next step
I cut out the design and I used the Ankara fabric to see in the red design.

Finally

For the sleeve,i decided to also line it up using the red fabric .
A glad I delivered her cloth just on time.

There's so much beauty in culture,It has shaped my life.
It conncts us to our history and it helps the younger ones to identify where they came from

It’s another Random Friday the 21st of August. How has your week been going? Well it does appear that crypto may have turned a corner here with the recent rise of bitcoin, and even our Hive is getting some love. We shall see what happens! Precious metals also appear to have bounced off recent lows and is now trending higher. Even the Dow and S&P ended on a positive note! Inflated prices means the dollar is worth less and less. I surprised my friend's daughter with a dress

Happy new week to everyone @needleworkmonday it was indeed a fun filled weekend but a bit stressful.
Today I am glad I could do something good for my daughter's friend.

Truthfully I didn't plan for it and I never thought that I could do something good before an hour.
But she came earlier today to the shop since they are on holiday,
She usually come come around to play with my kids
And she admires most clothes I make for my customers,so at the close of work today I decided to gift her a new dress,I didn't plan it but I had some free time to use.

Here are some materials i used in creating this dress

African print fabric
Black zip
Black lining
Scissors

First step

I took her measurements,the shoulder, burst,half length and full length
And I was ready to start sewing,at first,i cut out the front side of the dress and for the sleeve,I didn't have any intention of putting sleeves because the fabric wasn't big enough

Next step
For the back ,I had used allowance of one an a half inches for the zip
And I sew it on the lining

*Next stage
For the down part of it I made the gathers
And it lining and I fixed and sew it on the top
Sooner,the dress was ready and my friend's child was playing so I called her to wear it and it fitted just so fine.

Hello everyone @diyhub community how has the weekends been ?
Mine was fun and more lovely than I expected.
And I am here to share with you all the fabric scraps I had turned into something beautiful.

Here are the simple materials I used

left over Ankara piece
white t-shirt
scissors
measuring tape and
elastic

First step
I had less than one yard of fabric
It was a beautiful Ankara fabric that I loved so much and I couldn't let it go or trash it
I kept it for a specific purpose that I had no idea about.
The first step I took was to get the waist measurement,I got the length of the short,the flab and the hips measurements

Next step
I joined all the parts together and I started sewing them,it wasn't a difficult sewing because it was an easy style and a short.

Next step
After completing the sewing,it was time for the elastic
I cut out the fabric for the band,I took two and a half inches for it the half inches was for the sewing allowance.
I had taken extra inches for the waist because I knew I was going to use elastic band.

Finally after sewing the band,the elastic was ready and I got the little piece of fabric that had remained and fixed it on my child's t-shirt.

I created a flare dress for my Neighbour's child.

Hello everyone @needleworkmonday community,I welcome you all to a new week,today I'll love to share with you the dress I made for my Neighbour's child.
She's a little girl I love so much and I decided to create something nice for her

I had this material I had used some time ago and I had 3yards left.
So I decided to make use of it.

Here are the the materials I used in creating this dress

Ankara material
black lining
Measuring tape
scissors

First step
The first step I took was to fold the fabric into two. This was to be sure that both sides of the dress would be equal after cutting. the fabric, I measured the shoulder and divided the measurement by two before marking it on the material. This helped me achieve the correct shoulder width for the dress.
I measured out the burst and it's lining.

also I marked the waist measurement to ensure that the upper part of the dress would fit properly. Since the dress has a zipp at the back, I added a 2-inch zip allowance before cutting out the back piece.

For the down part of the dress,I cut out the flare part of it ,I had takthe measurements of the waist and length and I sew it all together.

Finally the dress was ready so I gave it out to the little princess.

DIY- Handmade Paper Earring

Hello everyone @diyhub community it has been a great day ,hope yours was great.
Today, I'll like to share with you all the earrings I created.

The creation of this beautiful handmade earring began with selecting a suitable material.

Here are the materials I used

Brown colour paper
Scissors
Glue
Earing hooks
Red colour pen

First step

I intentionally chose a brown cardboard paper because of its thickness unlike ordinary paper, the cardboard is stronger and more resistant to wear and tear, making it the best for a long-lasting earring.
The first step was to cut the cardboard into triangular shape. Although the brown colour was attractive,but I needed a more brighting colour

Next Step
To achieve this, I carefully coloured the surface with a red pen. The bright red colour enhanced the beauty of the design and made the earring more appealing.

Next step
After colouring, I folded the triangular piece into two equal parts. This folding process transformed the paper into a beautiful leaf-shaped design.

Next step
I applied glue to the edges to hold the folds firmly in place and ensure the earring maintained its form.

Next step
This was my final stage,i attached the earring hooks securely to the top of the leaf-shaped design. I made sure the hooks were fixed tightly so the earring would be durable and comfortable to wear.

After fixing the earing hooks,my earing was ready.

I know that friendship is one of life's greatest blessings, and I am fortunate to have a friend who has been a blessing to me,she has stood by me through every season of life.

I met Blessing during our secondary school years then I was much younger.
we were both in the same boarding school.
I remember how frightened I felt when I was taken to a boarding school,as a newcomer to a boarding school, everything felt unfamiliar, uncomfortable and overwhelming. For some reason though I don't know how and why,Blessing had more experience than I did, and she knew that indeed I was lost, instead of leaving me to figure things out on my own, she took me under her wing. She taught me everything I needed to know about hostel life,the unwritten rules, consequences of being ignorance etc. She showed me how to avoid unnecessary punishment, and helped me through the challenges of being away from home. Her patience and willingness to help made my stay easier.

As time went on,we had our disagreements and quarrels. There were moments when we upset each other and I felt like not talking to her again,but what made our friendship special was that she never stopped caring for me. Even when we went silent on each other, she always checked on me, encouraged me, and remained loyal. With time, our friendship grew beyond that of ordinary friends—we became sisters by choice.Because of us out parents get to know each other and what started as a friendship between two girls turned our parents into family friends.

What left the deepest impression on me was her consistency.I remember vividly days I was sick,she would helped me out with my morning duties.
Washed my clothes and even took blame for me .She proved that true friendship is not about comfort always but a decision to love, forgive, and stand by each other.by her actions I understood what unconditional love looks like
Today, many years later, we are both married, and our children have become friends too. Sometimes they laugh over our old pictures together.Seeing the bond continue into the next generation reminds me of how precious and enduring genuine friendship can be.

Blessing indeed changed my view about friendship.I now know that true friends are rare treasures. They do not run away when challenges arise; rather, they remain present, giving support, care, and love. Because of Blessing, I have learned the importance of being loyal, forgiving, and intentional in my own relationship.
This has shaped my life positively even in my marriage.
Her friendship has been a lifelong blessing, and I will always be grateful for the day our paths crossed.

DIY - I made a pink satin bow.

Hello everyone @diyub community,it's been a beautiful day and a fantastic evening
Today,I want share with you all how I did a beautiful bow.

With diy I have learnt to recycle old or unwanted things for used .
I had some pieces that were no longer useful
I went through them because I needed to work with it for my choir outfit

Here are the materials I used to create the bow

Satin fabric
Scissors
Thread and needle

First step
To create the pink satin bow, I first selected a piece of pink satin fabric because of its smooth texture and shiny appearance. I measured and cut the fabric into a circular shape .
After cutting, I folded the fabric carefully and sew round it.

Next step
I repeated the same procedure and I created four pieces of it

Next step
I created a space in the middle of it by loosing some stitches and I pull out the good side of the fabric through it.

Next step
I then gathered the center and secured it firmly with a smaller strip of fabric wrapped around the middle.

I a really glad I could create a now for myself.
