The following essay was published anonymously by Benjamin Franklin in 1773, when he was in London advocating for colonial interests. The image to the right is a portrait from 1767, just a few years prior. Spelling from 250 years ago will occasionally look unfamiliar to modern eyes, and the vocabulary is now antiquated, but this essay is still quite readable.

He used the initials "Q.E.D" as a reference to the Latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum, and despite not overtly mentioning Great Britain or the American colonies, it is quite plain what he meant. Could this have resulted in punitive measures from the British were it linked to him? Anonymous pamphlets and essays were common at the time, especially where politics were involved.

The essay, and the concern for anonymity when confronting the State, remain relevant today.

I have done my best to retain italics as used in the online versions I found, and chose to make the Roman numerals bold for easier readability. Payout will be declined, since the main part of this post is not my own work. At least it is old enough to be unquestionably in the public domain!

The Public Advertiser, London, 11 September 1773, as printed in the Pennsylvania Gazette, 15 December 1773

An ancient Sage boasted, that, tho' he could not fiddle, he knew how to make a great city of a little one. The science that I, a modern simpleton, am about to communicate, is the very reverse.

I address myself to all ministers who have the management of extensive dominions, which from their very greatness are become troublesome to govern, because the multiplicity of their affairs leaves no time for fiddling.

I. In the first place, gentlemen, you are to consider, that a great empire, like a great cake, is most easily diminished at the edges. Turn your attention, therefore, first to your remotest provinces; that, as you get rid of them, the next may follow in order.

II. That the possibility of this separation may always exist, take special care the provinces are never incorporated with the mother country; that they do not enjoy the same common rights, the same privileges in commerce; and that they are governed by severer laws, all of your enacting, without allowing them any share in the choice of the legislators. By carefully making and preserving such distinctions, you will (to keep to my simile of the cake) act like a wise ginger-bread-baker, who, to facilitate a division, cuts his dough half through in those places where, when baked, he would have it broken to pieces.

III. Those remote provinces have perhaps been acquired, purchased, or conquered, at the sole expence of the settlers, or their ancestors, without the aid of the mother country. If this should happen to increase her strength, by their growing numbers, ready to join in her wars; her commerce, by their growing demand for her manufactures; or her naval power, by greater employment for her ships and seamen, they may probably suppose some merit in this, and that it entitles them to some favour; you are therefore to forget it all, or resent it, as if they had done you injury. If they happen to be zealous whigs, friends of liberty, nurtured in revolution principles, remember all that to their prejudice, and resolve to punish it; for such principles, after a revolution is thoroughly established, are of no more use; they are even odious and abominable.

IV. However peaceably your colonies have submitted to your government, shewn their affection to your interests, and patiently borne their grievances; you are to suppose them always inclined to revolt, and treat them accordingly. Quarter troops among them, who by their insolence may provoke the rising of mobs, and by their bullets and bayonets suppress them. By this means, like the husband who uses his wife ill from suspicion, you may in time convert your suspicions into realities.

Surviving and thriving in an environment dominated by assholes, conformists, cowards, asslickers and "yes-men" requires a shift from emotional frustration to strategic navigation.

When people around you prioritize self-preservation and flattery over truth, you cannot change the environment, but you can master how you interact with it.

Here is a blueprint on how to survive and maintain your integrity:

1. Build Absolute Self-Reliance

In a world of cowards, you cannot rely on others to have your back when things get difficult.

• Financial and professional independence: Work toward a position where you are not entirely dependent on a single toxic system or manager. The more indispensable your hard skills are, the less power conformists have over you.

• Emotional detachment: Do not look for validation, loyalty, or deep moral support from people who lack the courage to stand up for themselves. Expect them to look out only for their own immediate safety.

2. Master the Art of "Strategic Silence"

You do not need to attend every argument you are invited to. Speaking the truth to people who are terrified of it often just makes you a target.

• Pick your battles: Conserve your energy. Don’t waste breath trying to convince a "yes-man" of an uncomfortable truth.

• Observe instead of reacting: Treat the environment like a chess board. Let others flatter their way into bad decisions while you quietly observe the flaws in the system and plan your moves accordingly.

3. Focus on Competence, Not Politics

While others are busy managing impressions and kissing asses, focus on building unshakeable, tangible competence.

• Let results speak: Flattery can build a fragile, temporary empire, but real competence is what solves actual crises. When things eventually go wrong, as they always do when a system lacks honest feedback, people will look for the person who actually knows how to fix the problem.

4. Create an Underground Network of Trust

Even in the most conforming environments, there are almost always a few hidden pragmatists or free thinkers who feel exactly the same way you do.

• Find the quiet ones: Look for people who do not participate in the performative flattery but still do their jobs exceptionally well.

• Keep it private: Build small, hyper-reliable alliances outside of the main spotlight. Having even two or three people you can speak honestly with is enough to keep you grounded.

5. Protect Your Inner Core

The biggest danger of living in an environment like this isn't that they will hurt you; it's that you will gradually become bitter, cynical, or eventually start mimicking them just to get by.

• Maintain strict personal boundaries: Decide ahead of time what lines you will absolutely never cross (e.g., you won't throw someone else under the bus, and you won't lie for someone else's ego).

• Find outlets outside that world: Ensure your personal life, hobbies, and friendships completely contrast with your professional or immediate social environment. Remind yourself daily that the microcosm you are surviving in is not the whole world.

Nonetheless and regardless of all the wisdom & smartness that an AI might appear to have, I believe I'm already too old to follow blindly all its advices to the letter. Because I know very well that I don’t have much time left ahead of me as to flee now and abandon a good battle when the goal to be achieved is and will be for the benefit of everyone.

You do you, but I will maintain my own style of relentless, unabating and merciless fight in my own terms against all the assholes, asskissers and cowards in the world with what I will come across for as long as I live. Because for me, it’s already too late to turn back.

Where could this encounter describe John's struggle with his own doubts and conditioning? Could the deceiver be the ego defending familiar beliefs?

John withdraws into solitude, distressed and full of questions. He has followed his teacher, yet still doesn't understand everything he was taught. It shows that even the best among us can repeat an idea for years without ever stopping to explain what we mean by it.

INLEO: Hive Contributor or Extractor?

I spent some time looking at past projects I've invested in and recounted how many failed or shut down. Of all the biggest scams and disappointments, I'm amazed that INLEO manages to still receive support even after all of its failures.

I'm not one to shy away from criticizing projects. I did it with BRO when Ray went crazy and destroyed the project. Why not do the same with INLEO? The difference with it is the history is far more extensive, so I utilized ChatGPT to help aggregate the data.

If people's first impression with Astrology was the cycles it forms, instead of horoscopes, it would probably be one of the most researched sciences. But, it is the horoscopes, and the sun-sign astrology (the basics of the basics) that paints the word that most people see.

Astronomy is supposed to be this science where scientist really know where the stars are… but that is no where close to the truth. We have so many wrong assumptions in the field, that measurements are turned to meaninglessness.

Astrology gets more and more detailed the deeper you go in it. The structures are beautiful. The interactions exquisite. The meanings get more meaningful.

In Astronomy, the deeper you look, the more errors you find. We don't even have an accurate model of the motion of the planet Mercury. (Einstein's theory is only about 96% accurate) If you try to match the theories of how the universe came to be, with what you see in the stars, you can't. One leads in one direction, the other leads in the opposite direction, along many dimensions simultaneously. Wrongness in many layers.

From the surface level, Astrology appears to be a superstition, hocus pocus, a scam.
And from the surface level, Astronomy seems to be a science based on facts.
However, if you reversed these statements, you would be much closer to the truth.

## Astronomy is a science?

Modern Astronomy assumes that gravity (based on mass) is what holds galaxies together.
Vera Ruben discovered that all the stars in the galaxy revolve around the center with the same angular speed. Or, the whole galaxy spins as if all the stars are glued to a plate. And she studied photos of galaxies for a decade before she reported this finding. She had to be sure before destroying the assumption that the things in the center, fly around faster than then the things further away. So, Vera Ruben announced her findings, and destroyed Galactic Physics.

To fix this/sweep it under the rug, physicists invented "Dark Matter" and "Dark Energy". The "Dark Matter" was to provide enough mass, heretofore unseen, so that the perceived orbits work with mass based gravity. However, they do not go into the very specific geometry that would allow the galaxy to rotate as one. A geometry that would prove that there was a designer and this was not random.

Further, the red shift & blue shift that astronomy relies upon have never been proven. Further, there are too many times when the shift does not match everything else we know about the celestial bodies.

I really meant it, that the more you look into astronomy, the more errors you find. And no matter how much the astronomers claim that it is all random (it happened through an explosion), there is way too much order in what we see.

## Astrology is really scientific, errr, mathematical

Before computer programs did it for you, you had to do a LOT of math to create an astrological chart. It is not some wishy-washy thing that people assume it is.

The only easily computable aspect is the sun sign. (Which constellation was the sun in when you were born) because the calendar numbers do not move around that much year to year.

Everything else requires you to look up positions in a star chart, and then interpolate between the points printed therein.

Astrology is not willy-nilly, and before computer programs, you had to do all the math yourself.

## Astrology is also an art.

We do not know if it is the planet creating the energy state we find ourselves in, or its the energy state that determines where the planet is.

It is just that these things go in cycles, and the planets are like hands on the clock.

The most easily recognizable cycle is the moon cycle. The crazies come out on a full moon. However, the carefully calculated crimes happen on the new moon. So says police records. Luna, the god of emotions, the god of Lunacy, is well known for driving men mad. So, on a full moon, when Luna is most in power, the Lunacy abounds.

Mercury, the god of communication, goes retrograde about four times a year. During these times, communication often breaks down or becomes difficult.

It is not that these energies cause you these problems, it is just the energy, that, at that time, you are living in. (like a fish lives in water) And so, noticing how you are affected by these energies, you can plan for them. When the sidewalk is wet, you make sure to walk carefully.
