[Movie] Insidious 6: Out of the Further | 2026 (Review)

There are two important points to highlight before I dive into this post. First, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a horror movie as good as this one. Second, my life has been quite chaotic lately—I’m only just getting around to watching this two months after its release! Insidious is my favorite horror franchise; I usually make it a point to watch each new installment on its opening day, but—well—the moment has finally arrived. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, given that the third and fourth films were a bit underwhelming (though I did love the fifth one). But I was wrong! This sixth installment has everything it takes to hook new fans, while also tapping into the nostalgia of those of us who have been following the series for nearly 20 years—ever since Dalton gave us all such a fright back in his childhood! 🤣

Although the story does not focus on the Lambert family—as was the case in the two iconic first installments of this saga—the ever-present Elise, played by Lin Shaye, helps us reconnect with the original concept of the series. Insidious has the unique quality of depicting the afterlife exactly as I have always imagined it: a mysterious realm where souls move about, existing right alongside us but on a different plane. The films always possess a certain darkness that makes their scenes all the more chilling—a quality I love about the franchise. While I initially feared it might feel repetitive, that wasn't the case; there were many unexpected moments. And although some of these elements might not be plausible in reality, they were highly compelling within the context of the fiction, adding depth to the plot—such as the special abilities possessed by these new protagonists.

I would recommend watching the first five films—primarily so you can grasp the references and the atmosphere of Insidious—though you could certainly watch this one on its own and still enjoy an excellent film in the genre, even without much prior knowledge. There is an epic jump scare that nearly gave me a heart attack—much like in the first film, which features one of the greatest jump scares in cinema history—and later on, as the movie intensifies, they pull off another one that will definitely get your heart racing. Characters from the earlier installments reappear; while they don’t play a major role, it’s nice to see the connection and maintain the core premise of this film series: that souls from the beyond yearn to return to our earthly plane...

With Insidious 6, something happened that hadn't occurred in the first five installments: I felt genuinely uncomfortable due to scenes so gross that they forced me to close my eyes. As I mentioned before, I love these films because they deal with the spiritual realm and demons—my favorite subgenre of horror—but there was one moment here that, had it continued, could have been classified as gore, albeit on a small scale. The scene takes place at the dentist's office; it begins in our earthly realm and ends in the afterlife, and I don't think I'm the same person after watching it. I really appreciated the element of surprise, as I don't recall seeing anything like that in the previous chapters. With Halloween fast approaching, there are so many different ideas to explore!

Así que en esta oportunidad les comporta una diadema de limpiapipas inspirada en gato negro, más un toque tierno de flores en color morado, así que es con una temática de Halloween pero también puede ser tierna, o también puedes agregar otros detalles como calabaza, arañas, el que más te guste.

So, this time I’m sharing a pipe-cleaner headband inspired by a black cat, accented with some sweet purple flowers. It has a Halloween theme, but with a cute touch—and you can always add other details, like a pumpkin or spiders, or whatever else you like best!

Esta diadema es ideal para usar con disfraz con dicha temática, al ser con limpiapipas es fácil de realizar, a continuación les muestro el paso a paso y dicho resultado.

This headband is perfect for a themed costume; since it’s made using pipe cleaners, it’s easy to put together. Below, I’ll show you the step-by-step process and the final result.

Paso a paso / Step by step

El primer paso que voy a realizar será buscar los colores de limpiapipas a utilizar, el negro y morado son colores fácil de encontrar en las tiendas de papelería, útiles escolares, por lo que vamos a necesitar menos de un paquete. También usaremos un cintillo plástico grueso, si no puedes comprarlo es mejor reusar.

The first step is to find the pipe cleaners I’ll be using; black and purple are easy to come by at stationery or school supply stores, and we’ll need less than a full pack. We’ll also use a thick plastic headband—if you can’t buy one, it’s better to reuse one you already have.

Ahora vamos a tomar el limpiapipas de color negro y vamos a colocar un poco de silicon en barre en la punta del cintillo y comenzamos a pegar y enrollar sobre el cintillo, no es necesario que coloques demasiado silicon, solo enrollar puntos donde termine cada uno, en este paso gaste unos 6 a 7 de color negro.

Now, take the black pipe cleaner, apply a bit of hot glue to the tip of the headband, and begin wrapping it around the headband, securing it as you go. You don’t need to use too much glue—just add a dab at the end of each piece to hold it in place. For this step, I used about 6 to 7 black pipe cleaners.

Las películas de acción me atrapan siempre, y hoy les tengo una reseña sobre la película el El justiciero, publicada en el año 2014 con una duración de 132 minutos, puedo decir que me pareció interesante la película aunque tiene sus partes de adrenalina mezclada con escenas poco realistas no deja de ser una buena película para mí, su protagonista es Denzel Washington.

Action movies always draw me in, and today I have a review for you of the 2014 film The Equalizer, which has a runtime of 132 minutes. I found the movie interesting; although it combines adrenaline-fueled moments with some rather unrealistic scenes, I still consider it a good film. It stars Denzel Washington.

Al principio podemos ver un hombre interesante, algo misterioso, que lleva una vida tranquila, interesado por la lectura y le gusta tomar su té, siempre he creído que todos escondemos una parte oscura quizás no tan mala, pero si algo fuera de lo común o que muy pocos hacen, en este caso el señor McCall tiene un pasado oscuro, en dónde la venganza transforma esa tranquilidad y paz a una persona capaz de todo con tal hacer justicia.

I have always believed that we all harbor a dark side—perhaps not necessarily "bad," but certainly something out of the ordinary, or something few people would do. Luego de que su esposa falleció se mantuvo bajo una vida en secreto, luego de ver como una mafia muy poderosa agrede de forma física, verbal, a una joven chica con la que siempre coincide en el local de comida decide arriesgarse, volver a tomar la justicia por sus propias manos, a muchos les pareció un hombre débil y hasta lo llamaron abuelo, pero no sabía que detrás había una mente calculadora con una táctica de pelea increíble, lo que más me gustó es que todo lo planeaba de forma perfecta y eso te mantiene pegado a la pantalla.

After his wife passed away, he lived a life in the shadows. However, upon witnessing a powerful mafia group physically and verbally assaulting a young woman—someone he frequently encountered at a local eatery—he decides to take a risk and once again take justice into his own hands. Many perceived him as a weak man—even calling him "grandpa"—but they were unaware that, beneath that exterior, lay a calculating mind and an incredible mastery of combat tactics. What I enjoyed most was how he meticulously planned everything to perfection; it’s the kind of storytelling that keeps you glued to the screen.

Lo que no me gustó es que hay escenas poco realistas ya que la mayoría de las peleas con sus oponentes las ganaba sin el recibir casi daño, sin embargo no dejó de entretenerme, se puede sentir la adrenalina en casa escena ya que nunca quieres que le hagan daño al protagonista si está haciendo lo correcto. Me gustó mucho porque logró su objetivo y la vida de la chica cambio gracias a sus acciones, prácticamente el ayuda a personas desconocidas en peligro de forma anónima siendo invisible para la policía.

El 5 de octubre cumplí 8 años junto a mi pareja, y quise realizar un porta retrato con algunas fotos de nuestros momentos juntos, reutilice varios materiales como la base del porta retrato de madera, figuras de corazón, las fotos las edité en Canva e imprimí en papel fotográfico, el proceso es sencillo pero queda como resultado y lindo recuerdo de pareja hecho con amor.

On October 5, my partner and I celebrated our 8th anniversary, and I wanted to make a photo frame with some pictures of our time together. I reused various materials, such as the wooden base of the photo frame and heart-shaped figures. I edited the photos in Canva and printed them on photo paper. The process is simple, but the result is a lovely keepsake for us as a couple, made with love.

Paso a paso / Step by Step

El primer paso que vamos a realizar será seleccionar una cartulina de color negro a utilizar, esta la encontré en un block que tenía guardado, quise que fuese de este color para que contraste con las fotos en dónde el marco es blanco.

The first step we'll take is to choose a piece of black cardstock to use; I found this one in a pad I had saved. I wanted it to be this color so it would contrast with the photos, which have white frames.

Ahora vamos a colocar el porta retrato sobre la cartulina y marcamos con un lápiz para recortar su medida es de 14.5 cm x 19 cm, pegamos con silicón líquido y dejamos secar bien.

Mientras tanto vamos cortando las fotos, la edición la realicé en Canva pero se me olvidó hacerle una captura, aunque el proceso es sencillo solo debes buscar marcos para fotos y tendrás varias opciones seleccionas la que mas te guste, algunos son tipo collage.

Now let’s place the picture frame on the cardstock and trace around it with a pencil to cut it out—it measures 14.5 cm x 19 cm. Glue it down with liquid silicone and let it dry thoroughly.

In the meantime, let’s cut out the photos. I edited them in Canva but forgot to take a screenshot—though the process is simple: just search for photo frames, and you’ll have several options to choose from. Select the one you like best; some are collage-style.

En esta oportunidad les comparto un lindo Snoopy vampiro para el especial de Halloween, utilicé foami y marcadores, esta figura ideal para decorar, puedes personalizar el tamaño al que más te guste, me gustó mucho el Snoopy vampiro ya que le da un toque divertido, a continuación los materiales y el paso a paso.

Paso a paso / Step by step

El primer paso que vamos a realizar es el molde de todas las piezas del Snoopy en una hoja blanca, a mí me gusta hacerlo así para luego recortar y colocar sobre el foami calcar y recortar. Es mucho fácil si no eres un experto en dibujar.

The first step is to create the templates for all of Snoopy's pieces on a sheet of white paper; I like doing it this way so I can cut them out, place them on the craft foam, trace them, and then cut them out. It is much easier this way if you aren't an expert at drawing.

El Snoopy lo vamos a recortar en foami blanco, la capa en foami rojo y la oreja y nariz y en foami negro, primero recorte la capa y comencé agregar el color rojo sobre el foami utilizando marcador, puse varias capas para dar intensidad.

We are going to cut Snoopy out of white craft foam, the cape out of red foam, and the ear and nose out of black foam; I cut out the cape first and began adding red color to the foam using a marker, applying several layers to build up the intensity.

Luego con marcador negro hice los detalles del borde de la capa y del centro, el borde de la parte inferior puedes difuminarlo un poco, una vez lista la capa vamos a pegar la oreja y nariz, con sombra de color negro vamos a marcar ciertas partes del cuerpo de Snoopy como por ejemplo patitas y las manos.

Next, using a black marker, I added details to the edges of the cape and the center; you can slightly blend the bottom edge. Once the cape is ready, we’ll attach the ear and nose, and use black eyeshadow to define certain parts of Snoopy’s body, such as the paws and hands.

I’ve been listening to Aerosmith’s “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing” on repeat for days, so I decided to talk a bit about it.

Some songs define a band, while others secure its legacy and lasting impact; this song falls into the latter category. It is the group's only number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2024 (for selling 10 million units in the United States).

Anatomy of the Song

Released in 1998 and nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, this track is a power ballad with symphonic rock influences. Clocking in at 4:58, it features piano, guitars, drums, and orchestral sections.

The production is remarkable; if you listen at full volume, you can hear the arrangements building, accompanied by Steven Tyler’s vocal embellishments, as emotion and intensity rise. I always enjoy learning a bit about the songs I listen to and the inspiration behind them. “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing” was composed by Diane Warren, who wrote it after watching an interview that Barbara Walters conducted with Barbra Streisand and James Brolin; Brolin confessed that he missed his wife whenever she was away—missing her even while he slept—which served as the inspiration for the song's chorus:
“Don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby”

Another interesting detail is that the song was almost given to Celine Dion, for whom Warren had originally intended it. However, there was a major twist when Tyler heard the song and was completely won over by Warren's demo.

The Armageddon Soundtrack and the Connection to Liv Tyler

This melodic track served as the theme song for the apocalyptic film Armageddon. Although U2 was the band originally slated for the project, the director agreed to include four Aerosmith songs; Tyler accepted the offer without realizing that his daughter, Liv Tyler, had already been cast in the lead role. Produced on a budget of $140 million, the film grossed $550 million and gave the song “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing” a major commercial boost, chart success, and lasting historical significance.
Undoubtedly, it is a song with a beautiful meaning and a story that intertwines the father-daughter relationship with different facets of the production: the daughter starring in the film and the father delivering an outstanding soundtrack contribution.

Cuando lo tienes todo, dinero, fama, lujos y el reconocimiento de todo un público, el esfuerzo, espíritu de lucha y la disciplina puede que sea menor que antes y esto se puede notar fácilmente, continúa la saga, en este oportunidad, Rocky III publicada en el año 1982, lo primero que pude notar es que Rocky luego de ganar ante Apollo Creed lleva una vida distinta con su esposa Adrian, en dónde se rodea de comodidades y enfocado más en lo superficial.

The saga continues with Rocky III (1982); the first thing I noticed was that, after defeating Apollo Creed, Rocky is living a different life with his wife, Adrian—one surrounded by creature comforts and focused more on the superficial.

Aunque todos lo apoyen al enfrentarse con un nuevo boxeador cae en esa pelea, perdiendo el título de campeón del mundo, siento que influyeron muchas cosas en ese momento lo primero es el estado de salud de su entrenador Mickey, además siento que no estaba lo suficiente preparado físicamente para enfrentar a un deportista que se veía preparado en todos los aspectos, pero siendo sincera no me gustó la actitud de Clubber Lang ante el rival ya que fué muy arrogante.

Luego de este suceso la vida de Rocky se complica, pierde la confianza en él, la motivación, siempre tuvo el apoyo de su esposa Adrian que con sus palabras lo hace ver la importancia de seguir adelante y de recuperar su dignidad así gane o pierda, me ha gustado mucho porque su relación se ha mantenido desde el principio en buenos y momentos difíciles.

After this event, Rocky’s life becomes complicated; he loses confidence in himself and his motivation. However, he always has the support of his wife, Adrian, whose words help him see the importance of moving forward and regaining his dignity—whether he wins or loses. I really appreciate this aspect, as their relationship has endured through both good times and bad from the very beginning.

Algo que me sorprendió bastante es el hecho de que la persona con quién entrenaría en el algún momento fué su rival, creo que fué una buena idea involucrarlo en esta parte, a pesar de todo es una persona fuerte, disciplinada y quién más que él para volver a motivar a Rocky a recuperar su fuerza y disciplina. Me gustó el hecho de que lo llevará a entrenar en un lugar muy parecido a dónde él entrenaba antes de tener fama, allí es donde se encuentran los verdaderos talentos.

Something that really surprised me is the fact that the person who would eventually train him was once his rival; I think involving him in this part was a good idea. After all, he is a strong, disciplined individual—and who better than him to reignite Rocky's drive to regain his strength and discipline? I liked that he took him to train in a place very similar to where he used to train before becoming famous; that is where true talent is found.

Realicé un tulipán de Spiderman este tipo de flores de personajes quedan muy tiernos y se pueden obsequiar para mujer y hombre, lo llamativo es que no deja de ser un tulipán pero se puede personalizar con cada personaje, el proceso de tulipán requiere de tiempo y una técnica para que nos quede bien bonito y alineado, también depende la calidad del limpiapipas para lograr un buen resultado, a continuación los materiales y el paso a paso.

Paso a paso / Step by step

El primer paso que voy a realizar será seleccionar los limpiapipas de color rojo, vamos a tomar cuatro de 30 cm y vamos a cortar seis del mismo tamaño por la mitad es decir nos quedaría de 15 cm.

The first step is to select the red pipe cleaners; we will take four 30 cm ones and cut six of the same size in half, resulting in 15 cm lengths.

Vamos a tomar un limpiapipas de 30 cm y los de 15 cm los doblamos en la mitad, vamos a colocar tres de ellos en el centro del limpiapipas completo. Vamos a unir cada una de las partes de manera uniforme y con una de las puntas más largas vamos a sujetar los demás limpiapipas formando el primer pétalo, esto lo realicé con los tres pétalos restantes.

We will take a 30 cm pipe cleaner and fold the 15 cm ones in half; then, we will place three of them in the center of the full-length pipe cleaner. We will align the sections evenly, and using one of the longer ends, we will secure the other pipe cleaners to form the first petal; I repeated this process for the remaining three petals.
