Crispy fried chicken: delicious lunch[Eng/Esp]

Today I wanted to eat chicken, and since it's such a versatile protein, I'm going to prepare it in a different way. My daughters love chicken, so it's going to be just like they make it in restaurants.

Join me to see the process, you'll love it...

Ingredients :

745 grams of chicken.
Prepared seasoning.
Oregano leaves.
Soy sauce.
Mustard.
Salt. Cornmeal.
Egg.
200 ml of milk.

Preparation :

I put the chicken pieces in a pot of water and let them cook for a while so that the chicken wouldn't be raw when I fried it. Since I started doing it this way, it doesn't end up bloody inside anymore; I had to deal with that for a long time, and for me, it's the best option.

When the chicken was ready, I drained the water, let it cool down, and when it was no longer hot, I added prepared seasoning, oregano leaves, a splash of soy sauce, mustard to taste, and turned it over and left it to marinate.

Then, in a bowl, 200 ml of liquid milk was added and an egg was incorporated and stirred; this is done to soften the chicken.

The marinated chicken was submerged in the milk and egg mixture. It was then removed and placed on a plate with cornmeal, a little prepared seasoning, and salt. The chicken was tossed to coat it, and the process was repeated. This step is done to create a crust on the chicken when it is fried.

Once the oil is hot, fry the chicken on both sides until golden brown, then remove it. I served it with a salad and an arepa—a delicious lunch to please my family.

Suggestions :

Make folds in the chicken with the knife so that it cooks better.
Boiling the chicken is an option to remove the blood, allowing you to fry it in less time.
It's recommended to marinate it for a longer period to absorb the flavors; the longer, the better. In my case, it didn't last long because I was running late with lunch.
The milk and egg are used to tenderize the white meat. If you're allergic to eggs, use only milk.

The sunsets of Barquisimeto: a morning to remember[Eng/Esp]

Today I'm here, because I want to show you some photos of a sunrise I took while saying goodbye to my husband, who was leaving for work on October 4th in Barquisimeto, Lara state. It was around 6:20 a.m., I looked up and saw the small moon, whose phase I don't know, in the blue sky.

To the east, the sky was crepúsculos in beautiful sunsets of yellow and orange hues, the clouds appearing elongated and shapeless. Within this lovely scene, one can see the paved street, the cables, the streetlights still on, as well as houses and cars lining the sides, and in the distance, a building, followed by trees.

Then I looked to the west; the sky was different, clearer, with twilight, its hue a mix of blue and pink. The clouds were already taking shape, and wires adorned the asphalt street.

The streetlights were still on on that side too, the houses on both sides and towards the back, gave me the feeling that the street was lost in the immense sky.

Without further ado, I leave you with these crepúsculos images of amanecer, a particular phenomenon that characterizes us.

Los crepúsculos de Barquisimeto: una mañana para recordar.

Hoy estoy aquí, porque quiero mostrarle unas imágenes de un amanecer que tome cuando despedía a mi esposo que iba a trabajar el pasado 4 de octubre en Barquisimeto estado Lara. Eran como las 6:20 a.m aproximadamente, mire hacia arriba y vi la luna pequeña que no se en que fase se encuentra en el cielo azul.

Hacia este el cielo estaba con unos hermosos crepúsculos en tonalidades amarillo y anaranjado las nubes se veian alargadas sin forma definida. De esa imagen tan bonita en ella se ve la calle asfaltada, los cables las luces de los poste aún encendida, así como casas y carros hacia los lados y al final un edificio, seguido de árboles.

Luego mire hacia el lado oeste el cielo estaba diferente más despejado y con crepúsculos, su tonalidad entre azul, rosado. Las nubes ya estaban adquiriendo forma, los cables adornando la calle asfaltada.

Las luces de los poste aún encendida de ese lado también, las casas en ambos lados y hacia el fondo, me dio la sensación que la calle se perdía en el inmenso cielo.

Sin más que agregar, les dejo esas hermosas imágenes de los crepúsculos, fenómeno particular que nos caracteriza por tenerlo.

🌸 "Eleven o'clock beauties" (Portulaca grandiflora): The succulent gem that brightens our spaces

Hello to everyone in the Hive community—wishing you health and blessings.

On my way to work, I came across this beautiful, solitary flower. It seems the weeds had been cleared away, allowing this little darling to sprout. I had to stop, pull out my phone, and snap a picture. I wanted to learn more about it and share it here with all of you, my loyal readers.

Let’s take a moment to marvel at the little things life offers us. I would have liked to take more photos, but I was already running late for work. I planned to stop by again on my way home, but—would you believe it?—by the time I finished my workday at 6:00 PM, the flower was already fading, reaching the end of its life. There was hardly anything left of its former, splendid self, so I couldn't take any more pictures. This only fueled my curiosity, and what I discovered about it was truly fascinating.

According to my research, it is one of the most beloved, resilient, and striking ornamental plants found in gardens and patios. It is known as Portulaca grandiflora, and is popularly referred to by names such as "eleven o'clock beauty" (bella a las once), "fleeting love" (amor de un rato), "silk flower" (flor de seda), or "little morning flowers" (mañanitas).

This little wonder is perfect for adding a splash of color to any corner, thanks to its vibrant blossoms and incredible adaptability.

It belongs to the Portulacaceae family. This is an annual succulent with a creeping or decumbent habit (spreading horizontally and rising upward when in bloom), making it an ideal ground cover for pots, path borders, or planters.

🔍 Key Botanical Characteristics

Fleshy leaves: The leaves are alternate, cylindrical, and elongated (1 to 2.5 cm long), adapted for water storage. Characteristic whitish, woolly hairs are found in the leaf axils along the stems.
Striking flowers: It produces solitary flowers at the ends of its branches, measuring 2 to 4 cm in diameter, with 5 petals that can range in color from shades of purple, violet, and pink to yellow or white.
Stamens and stigmas: It features numerous stamens in the center and 5 to 7 stigmas, making it highly attractive to pollinators.
Fruit and seeds: The fruit is a small capsule (4 to 6 mm) that opens transversely to release tiny, blackish or bluish seeds (measuring only 0.6 to 0.8 mm). ---

🌎 Distribution and Cultivation

This species is native to the Americas (ranging from Mexico to South America). Due to its beauty and ease of care, it has become naturalized in tropical and temperate regions across the globe, including Australia.

Why is it ideal for the home?

☀️ Sun-loving: It blooms most brilliantly when exposed to direct sunlight (which explains many of its common names).
💧 Low water needs: As a succulent, it retains moisture effectively and can tolerate periods of drought.
🎨 Colorful variety: It beautifully enhances any outdoor space while requiring very little maintenance.

I became intrigued by why it is called "One-Day Love" (Amor de un Día). This name makes perfect sense, as I discovered when I passed by in the late afternoon: the flower had already completed its life cycle. It turns out the name refers to the remarkably short, ephemeral lifespan of its blossoms:

Ephemeral blooming: Each individual flower opens in the morning, only to wither and close by the evening of that same day—lasting just a few hours.

Although each individual bloom lasts only a single day, the plant continues to flower, producing new buds day after day throughout its entire season. Hence the popular analogy: a "love" that lasts a very short time (just one day), but leaves a striking and colorful mark while it is present.

It’s a beautiful subject for a poem—a "one-day flower," a "one-day love"—lovely while it lasted, much like many of the loves that pass through our lives.😍

Beyond the bars: canine conversations [Eng/Esp]

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share what I saw yesterday. After dropping my daughters off at school, I hurried back to avoid getting wet in the rain.

As I was almost home, I observed the scene: one dog on the street side and the other two perched on a ladder at the top, watching.

In their animal language, I saw looks, I suppose they said: "open the door, I'm going to get wet"... Maybe he too came to visit them to chat for a while and tell each other about his nighttime adventures and found himself facing a wall that separates them.

My mind is running wild, imagining that those two dogs on the stairs, whose breed I don't know, are the guardians of the house. And maybe they see anyone they meet on the street as a thief; I haven't been able to verify any of this yet.

The stray dog was getting tired of being there; a car passed by and he had to leave. He walked a little further and stopped to watch another dog in a house.

There they stood, face to face, unlike the dogs on the stairs; only a black fence separated them. Their conversation was interesting, judging by their posture: one was standing on its hind legs, while the other rested against the brick and wire wall.

The dog inside said something he didn't like, and he changed drastically; his face had a completely different expression. They tried to mediate, but his words were hurtful, so he had to leave.

In short, the stray dog couldn't get in anywhere; sometimes that's how it is, it's better to be alone than in bad company.

Faltando poco para llegar a mi casa observo la escena: un perro del lado de la calle y los otros dos montados en una escalera en la parte superior mirando.

En su lenguaje animal, vi miradas, supongo que decían: "abre la puerta, me voy a mojar"... Tal vez él también vino a visitarlos para charlar un rato y contarse sus aventuras nocturnas y se encontró frente a una pared que los separa.

Mi mente se imagina cosas, piensa que esos dos perros de la escalera, que les desconozco su raza son los guardianes de la casa. Y tal vez ven como un ladrón al que se encuentra en la calle, en si todo lo expresado no lo he podido comprobar aún.

El perro callejero se estaba cansando de estar allí; pasó un carro y tuvo que marcharse. Caminó un poco más y se detuvo a observar a otro perro en una casa.

Acá se veían de frente, a diferencia de los perros de la escalera,solo los separa unas rejas de color negro. Su platica era interesante, por la posición que tenía, se paró sobre sus patas y las otras dos, las colocó en la media pared de ladrillos y rejas.

El perro de adentro le dijo algo que no le gusto, y el cambio drasticamemente, su cara tenía otra expresión. Intentaron mediar, pero sus palabras fueron hirientes, así que se tuvo que marchar de allí.

En resumen en ningún lado pudo entrar el perro de la calle, aveces sucede así, es mejor estar solo que mal acompañados.

Indigenous crown made of foam: a tribute to Indigenous Resistance[Eng/Esp]

Greetings community, this past Monday we commemorated the anniversary of October 12th, the Day of Indigenous Resistance. It was a holiday here, and my daughters didn't have school because of the celebration, so we rested at home.

For those who don't know about this anniversary, I'll tell you a little about it. It's meant to commemorate what happened on that date. There was violence, torture, and massacres against the indigenous people because the Spanish, along with Christopher Columbus, wanted to seize our territory and its riches.

Previously, the holiday was called Columbus Day, but in 2002, the current government changed it to Indigenous Resistance Day. Therefore, I will make an Indigenous crown in honor of all those Indigenous people who defended Venezuelan lands.

This craft is easy to make, let's get started. Join me to see the process...

Materials:

Red glitter foam sheet.
Green glitter foam sheet.
Scissors.
Hot glue gun.
Hot glue sticks.
Ruler.
Letter-size white paper.
Pen.
Elastic thread.

Procedure:

From the red glitter foam, I measured 27 centimeters long by 3.5 centimeters wide to make the strip that will be the base of the indigenous crown. I marked it with the pen and cut it out with the scissors.

To make the feathers, do it as follows: fold the letter-size sheet as shown in the figure and with scissors cut an oval shape from the bottom to the top and remove the template for the feather.

Keep in mind that the thickness of the feather will depend on how far it is from the fold when cutting. I placed the template on the foam and marked the three feathers I wanted, then cut them out.

The length of the feather is up to you; in this case, it measures 12.5 centimeters.

Next, cut diagonally along the edges of the foam sheet to create the feather shape. Repeat this process for the remaining feathers.

On a hot iron, place the feather so that the edges are shaped, fold it in half so that it looks like this.

The three feathers are glued together and holes are made with scissors at both ends of the strip of the indigenous crown to then place the elastic thread.

I made a triangle on the 3-centimeter sheet of paper, which will be the template, I cut it out and transferred it to the frosted green foam sheet. I made six of them and glued them onto the strip as shown in the image.

Community Curation, Creator Subscriptions and Quests

As I mentioned in the last post, there's quite a lot of updates. Today I finished fine-tuning some more of them and launched some while Creator Subscriptions still needs some more work. I'll be going over the new additions in greater detail and also talk about Creator Subscriptions a bit more so you know what's to come.

First let's start with an easy one:

Quests

There's now Quests on scrobble.life, you can access yours here: https://scrobble.life/quests

Starting off with daily and weekly quests while leaving monthly towards Subscriber activities.

As you can tell by the screenshot, different activities on scrobble.life count towards your quests, such as:

Scrobbling songs/videos. Creating snaps/comments through the website. Publishing posts. Reading posts. Upvoting posts and more to come later.

There's also a level up system with xp for every "task" as well as additional xp for keeping up the streaks.

Levels and other accomplishments will be gamified more in the future to add towards your achievements while also showing your level across the website.

Creator Subscriptions

In Collaboration with decentmemes, we will soon enable users to upload emotes, stickers as well as collectibles on decentmemes while they'll be usable on scrobble.life (and any front-end that wants to implement them).

These will be guarded behind some activities however to prevent abuse, a combination of quests and other hive activities such as reputation of your account.

This means that every creator will be able to create a certain amount of unique emotes and stickers their subscribers will be able to use throughout the site (as well as other hive front-ends if they decide to implement this system).

Subscriptions will be tier-based, starting with $2/$5/$20 (a % gets burned while the rest goes to creators - the platform takes no fee), creators have all the power in their own hands how they wanna distribute emotes and stickers. We may enable original private meme templates only subscribers can use as well with this feature.

To give you a practical idea, let's say @holozing creates their own emotes, stickers and social collectibles. If you subscribe to @holozing for $2/month you may be able to use 5/20 of their emojis, stickers and unique meme templates when leaving comments on Hive.

When subscribing you also have the chance to receive unique collectibles bound to your account. A little bit of a gacha system there while limiting it to only 1 collectible per month to prevent unhealthy gambling mentalities. The collectibles will have different rarity system you as the creator can decide on yourself, example: if I subscribe to Holozing I'll be able to receive a creature collectible but to get a very rare one will be purely luck-based. Subscribing more times during the same month won't get me more collectibles, I'll have to wait until the second month of my subscription. If you're feeling generous however, you are able to gift subscriptions to others and we have a system where we target users the creator has engaged and upvoted to direct the subscriptions to, and similarly they'll also only receive one collectible per subscription.

On your profile you'll be able to select which collectible you wanna use when posting/commenting on Hive, it'll show close to your username and profile picture as well as unique pfp border if you've subscribed to scrobble.life. Default settings will allow you to show your collectible of the author you're subscribed to when commenting on their posts!

We hope this gamifying excites some of you as we feel it has been missing on Hive for the longest time! Creators can in this day and age easily create collectibles/emotes/stickers using AI or if they want to make it perfect, hire artists (we have many on Hive) to create things for them. This gives creators the freedom to "franchise" their account and stylize it a bit more.

To make things even easier, we've created a simple card collection generator you'll be able to use for a low fee

A rainy day full of learning[Eng/Esp]

Greetings everyone, today started with rain and cloudy skies, and when it cleared up I took my daughters to school. They each wore their raincoats, making sure they didn't get wet because they have coughs.

When it rains, I notice that few children go to school. My girls don't like to miss classes or arrive late. I think that's good because they learn to be responsible and committed to the activities they have to do.

My daughter Rogsanny was going to participate in a cultural activity about indigenous resistance, and she was very excited. On the way home, I saw a truck with coconuts, and I suddenly had a craving for coconut ice cream.

Further along, I noticed a car being painted and having its engine rebuilt to make it functional. This clearly shows that the mechanic works on the street to earn money because he doesn't have a workshop.

I remembered I had to print some pictures for Rogmary that they would use in history class, so I went to do that. On the way, I saw a cat on a shelf staring at me; I couldn't stay any longer, so I kept going.

I did my errands and went to rest at home. While in the backyard, I saw some scallion plants growing on stalks. My mom asked me to keep an eye on their development.

Her instructions were to apply water every three days to keep them looking beautiful. Later, I asked my daughter to take a picture of my back to see how my injury was progressing.

I saw the reddish area starting to crust over, and I'm continuing the treatment until it heals. Then I spent my time reading and correcting the spelling mistakes on an assignment my daughter had been given.

The assignment was to write a ten-line text about the emotions she felt today. I was happy to help her improve; I gave her suggestions that she should read more and pay attention to spelling so her writing is more precise.

With nothing more to add to my day, I'll say goodbye.

Saludos comunidad, hoy el día comenzó con lluvia y el cielo nublado, y cuando escampó lleve a mis hijas a la escuela. Iban con su impermeable cada una, cuidando que no se mojen, porque tienen tos.

Cuando llueve, me doy cuenta que van pocos niños a la escuela, a mis niñas no les gusta faltar a clases, ni llegar tarde, consideró que eso es bueno, porque aprenden hacer responsables y comprometidas con las actividades a ejecutar.

Mi hija Rogsanny iba a participar en una actividad cultural sobre la resistencia indígena, muy emocionada mi bella hija se encontraba. De regreso a casa vi un camión con cocos, me vino a la mente de nuevo las ganas de comerme un helado de coco.

Artificial flowers: my experience at the Castle[Eng/Esp]

Greetings community. Today I'm here to share my experience at El Castillo, a textile store that sells fabrics, household items, school supplies, and much more. Almost two weeks ago, I went with my dance teacher to the store located on Avenida 20 and Calle 29 to buy fabric for my daughters.

The saleswoman helped us and cut the length of fabric I needed. I was about to pay when my gaze shifted to the flower section. I confess that it felt like being in a garden. Touching the petals, their fine, delicate texture, made me want to have a floral arrangement at home to decorate my living room.

That stylishly decorated space in the store conveyed happiness and beauty to me; there were sunflowers, roses, flowers, orchids, and other plants whose names I don't know, in various colors.

It was so beautiful, I didn't want to leave; its beauty captivated me, the variety of flowers and roses. These have uses: they can decorate a home, office, or a cake, as well as adorn hair.

Making centerpieces, wreaths for the deceased, or giving a flower arrangement to someone on their birthday or anniversary is an excellent option...

Saludos comunidad, hoy estoy aquí para contar mi experiencia en el Castillo, una tienda textil, que vende telas,articulos para el hogar, útiles escolares y mucho más. Hace casi dos semanas, fui con la maestra de danza al local que se encuentra ubicado en la avenida 20 con calle 29, para la compra de la tela para mis hijas.

La vendedora nos atendió y nos cortó los metros que necesiba con la tela en mano, iba a dirigirme a pagar, cuando mi mirada se traslado al área de las flores. Les confieso que mi impresión fue estar en un jardín, el tocar los pétalos, su textura fina, delicada me hizo pensar en tener en casa un arreglo floral para decorar mi sala.

Ese espacio decorado con estilo en la tienda, me transmitió felicidad y belleza, habían girasoles, rosas,flores, orquideas,y otras plantas que desconozco sus nombres, de varios colores.

Era tan hermoso, no me provocaba salir de allí, me cautivo su belleza, la variedad de flores y rosas.Estas tienen funciones: pueden decorar en el hogar, oficina,o una torta, así como adornar el cabello.

Today I started my day with pain and itching on my right shoulder blade. My daughter took a picture so I could see my injury; I saw redness and blisters.

I continued making breakfast and getting ready for school with my daughters. I should mention that I'm finishing up a substitute teacher position, so I arrived early to take attendance.

The national anthem was sung and each grade went to their classroom with their respective teacher; my students then proceeded to have breakfast. Afterwards, a dictation was given about the indigenous resistance, which touched on why it has that name.

Just like the president who changed the name of Día de la Raza to what it has now, who was first in Venezuelan territory... I brought them a drawing to paste after finishing the activity; there were children who drew the indigenous person.

They also made an Indian headdress with materials they brought, and I paired them up so they could share and support each other. I managed to check a few notebooks; time flew by, and it was time to go home.

As all the children were leaving, I noticed they had left a bag behind, so I gave it to them to keep safe. I went home with my daughters, and my husband had finished fixing up an apartment that needed repairs.

I rested for a while, we had lunch, and then I went out again with my daughters to meet with the seamstress who will make their Tamunangue costumes. I took the opportunity to buy the fabrics and elastic and took them to her to be sewn.

My daughters and I walked to look for the medicinal plant yocoyoco, which is good for relieving rashes. I found it, but it was very damaged and I didn't take it... I went home and left the girls with their father to go to the community doctor.

He noticed redness on my skin and told me it was Herpes Zoster, a virus that attacks the body when its immune system is weakened.

Stress also plays a role in this. He prescribed treatment and told me that my improvement depends on me. I know many things are said about my condition; all I can do is trust that I will get through this.

For my health, I need to relax and not worry so much...With nothing more to add, I'll say goodbye, I'm going to rest...
