Oct 1777. After the Battle of Germantown on Oct 4, American soldiers find a stray dog wandering near their lines. It's a small terrier with a collar. They read the name on the collar.

It belonged to Gen. William Howe. The commander of the British army in America. The man who had just taken Philadelphia and beaten Washington twice in a month.

Some of the soldiers apparently wanted to keep it as a trophy. Washington said no.

On Oct 6 he sent the dog back across the lines under a flag of truce with a short note. It read: "General Washington's compliments to General Howe. He does himself the pleasure to return him a dog, which accidentally fell into his hands, and by the inscription on the Collar appears to belong to General Howe."

The note was in the handwriting of his aide, Alexander Hamilton.

Think about the moment. Washington had just lost a battle he thought he could win. His army had lost about a thousand men. The British were sitting in the American capital. And he took the time to make sure his enemy got his dog back.

That was who Washington wanted to be, and who he wanted his army to be seen as. Not a mob of rebels. Gentlemen fighting a war by civilized rules.

The original note still survives. Washington loved dogs his whole life and kept dozens of hounds at Mount Vernon, so he probably understood exactly what losing one felt like.

Three men were sentenced to the guillotine: a priest, a lawyer, and a physicist. The priest was first. Asked if he had any last words, he calmly replied:

“Only God can save me now.”

The executioner released the blade. It dropped—and stopped just inches above his neck.

The crowd gasped. “It’s a miracle!” and the priest was set free.

Next came the lawyer. Asked for his last words, he said:

“I’m not a religious man, but I believe in justice—and justice will save me.”

The blade was released. Once again, it dropped and stopped just inches above his neck. Everyone agreed that justice had prevailed, and the lawyer was released.

Finally, they brought out the physicist. He looked up at the guillotine, studied it for a moment, and said:

“You know, I think I see the problem. There’s a knot in that rope that’s keeping the blade from falling all the way.”

The executioner examined the mechanism, and sure enough, the physicist was right. They removed the knot, and the guillotine worked perfectly.

Moral: Intelligence isn't just knowing the answer. Sometimes it's knowing when to keep your mouth shut. 😄

This spine tingling moment just happened at the Sen. Johnson Hospital Protocols Hearing.

I can understand exactly why the room erupted.

Here’s an attorney with 50 years experience.

At the start of covid, he gets flooded with requests to make Hospitals give early treatment protocols.

But the result of his work is the part really blew my mind.

95.8% of the cases he won ,to force the Hospital to administer Ivermectin. Survived.

But then I heard the contrast of what happened when he lost his cases... the patients who had to go with standard of care hospital protocols which included Remdesivir.
