One thing I've come to understand is that, people are bound to make mistakes, I believe that we all have made misakes we're not proud of at some points in our lives, hence, the saying, "No one is above mistake". Note that, I am not saying that mistakes are something we should be Proud of. But the big question is; should people's mistakes define them? Or use it be against them? My answer is NO.

https://images.pexels.com/photos/6936081/pexels-photo-6936081.jpeg

There are so many reasons people make mistakes, some because they're ignorant, hurt, depressed or confused.
I understand that there are some people who blames others for their mistakes and will never accept that they can make mistakes. In this case, it's more than just a mistake, it says a lot about their character, and their inability to own their mistakes.

But when people realize their mistakes and be accountable for it, I think it is not in our place to remind them of the mistakes or make them feel bad or worse about it.

In conclusion; Mistakes should not define us, we can always learn from it, inasmuch as some mistakes are bigger than the other, some easy to correct while some are difficult and make take longer to correct.

The first step to correcting our Mistakes and making everything right is recognizing that we have actually made a mistake, and taking responsibility of our actions without looking for who to blame. This takes courage and determination.

Whatever may be the nature of the mistake, we can always drop our ego and be humble enough to address it and also learn from it. It's true that we may not be able to excape the consequences of our actions and decisions, but we can also choose to learn from it and not live by it.

This is my response to the smpw90e2 prompt.
Thanks for stopping by !

Since we're in the era of social media, I have also read about cases of bullying, some are very extreme to the extent of injuring another student. But, the big question is; should our children be taught to fight back bullies? Or should they just walk away in silence? Remember, bullying is not only done physically, it can also be done verbally.

While some parents ask their children to hit back, I do not subscribe to that. I think children shouldn't be taught to retaliate because of how their mind are wired; too fragile to assimilate informations without knowing why.In as much as we want our children to always stand up for their selves, teaching them that every problem should be solve with violence is wrong too.
If they're taught to fight back, it may create another problem too.

There are some actions they can take to put the bullies in their place, of course you know that, bullies thrive in fear and silence. They believe that you can never stand up for yourself.

Firstly, you can tell your child to stay calm, keep their voices normal and relax their body.
Secondly, Children can be taught to speak up with clarity;I always tell my child to look whoever that's bullying her to look the bully in the eyes and say "That's not okay" or "stop". And if they don't stop?
Thirdly, walk away immediately and don't fight back.

Most importantly, encourage them to always report the bullies to their teachers, or any higher authority in the school.
And when they get home, they shouldn't stay silent too.

POV: While we're making efforts to teach our children not to fight back, I believe parents should also tame their children who are bullies too.
They should also be taught not to hit first.perhaps, this can make them become a better adult.

Thanks for stopping by!

But then, Sometimes, we just need a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life and surround ourselves with the beauty of nature.
Here in the village, there's no generator sound as there's constant light, no car horns and people rushing to meet up.
The only sounds are that of the animals and the chirping birds.
Everywhere is just calm, and time seems to be slow.

My daughters wanted to cross to the other side of the road just to hunt for izora flowers. But I wasn't having it. I stopped them before they could cross. Was just trying to protect them from being bitten by sand flies.

I just had to allow her play with the sand, because why not? We're in the village of course.I just made sure that she plays safe as she refused to put on her crocs. It's actually her first time in the village since she started walking.

Lost her some months ago reason this place is filled with weeds.
And look at the coconut tree there, I'm happy that it's thriving.
1️⃣ I would make understanding hive more easier: instead of looking for someone to to ask questions, I'd provide a beginner's guide to assist with any difficulty they may encounter after creating account. And also to explain some of the terms in hive; like hive power, curation, resource credit, and so on.

2️⃣ I will make choosing the right tag easier. Imagine after making a post, you're confused on the relevant tags to use.No new user will have to use inappropriate tag or even miss the relevant ones to use. And how will I achieve this? I would introduce a smart feature that automatically suggests the right tag. And of course, each user will have the freedom to choose their tags. And no, I won't make it forever, I would make sure that the feature stays for a period of time, enough to get used to everything.

3️⃣ Another thing I would explain especially to new users is downvotes, imagine publishing your contents and a particular account keeps downvoting your post without any explanation.
And even when, you reach out to them to at least ask why they do that, you're being ignored. This doesn't encourage the new users at all, instead it makes it look like they're actually attacking their posts. I'm saying this because, I have seen a lot of users publish a post about being downvoted and also being ignored too.

4️⃣ Lastly I will make discovering communities easier, Some new users publish on their blog when they don't even have enough followers, this can make their posts less visible. ..
This is just the little I would have done in hive if I am given a day to manage hive. But the big question is; can a day be enough for all these?
Well, I don't know, but I am approaching this topic based on the perspective of a new hive user who also wants to see the platform grow and be fair to everyone.

Thanks for reading my blog!

And yes, the old camaradie can be reignited.
Let me share my little high school reunion experience to back up my claims. Our school reunion began online, it all started with one person who actually looked out for others on Facebook, what started little grew into something beautiful.

And now, every year, we have decided to make out time to meet and greet physically and also enjoy each other's company.
And so far, it's almost five years now, and I think it has become part of us.it has become a tradition that we look forward to every end of the year.It has now become an opportunity to reconnect, and also remind ourselves of our old memories.

Based on my experience, if you ask me how long a reunion should stay lively, I would say hours.
I mean hours of laughter, conversations and teasing. I still get called (Adiaha Mma Typist), instead of them just calling my real name, just because my Mom worked in the school and I am the first daughter. Its always funny. And when we met for the first time, a lot changed in appearance, I could barely recognize most of my classmates, but funny thing is that, almost off the them recognized me.

And one thing I discovered was that, those childhood characters never changed, I was expecting that, after some years, a lot will change, but nah..
It didn't, some of us comfortably displayed those characters and it was filled with laughter and fun. And this reminded me of one thing, people we thought may have changed can surprise us, reminding us exactly how we used to be.

Can old camaradie be rekindled?

Based on my experience, it can.
Our school reunion is an example that people can reconnect after spending years apart.it reminds me that, relationships can survive distance and time, when the people involved are willing to make efforts. And I think all of us understood the assignment, after all these years, it's not just about gathering physically to laugh, we now plan on how to be there for each other, and honestly, it's been amazing journey so far, though I understand that not all childhood closeness will amount to something meaningful, but I also believe that some are worth trying. There are some of us who are not interested in the reunion, and that's very fine. Their decisions are respected.

Will every other reunion be beautiful like ours? The answer is NO. Reason is that, people do change, and that's very okay too.

So, my final thought on this is that, my experience has taught me that time and distance cannot necessarily erase the bonds that was shared. The bonds sometime needs an opportunity to come back to life.
Thanks for stopping by!

What's the essence of being able to afford all the finest things and experiences in the world, but you don't have freedom to enjoy it because you're always working? Imagine being able to afford everything your family want but you don't have time to sit with them and enjoy their company. This can be so complicated and frustrating.
It's just like being a prisoner to your own success.
If I am asked to choose between freedom and wealth, I'll certainly choose freedom.
I know this might sound ridiculous, especially when I am from a country where the cost of living keeps on increasing.
After all, freedom without money can also be frustrating too.

However, I'd rather have enough to take care of my needs and the freedom to enjoy it than work all the days of my life just to make money while I become a prisoner of my own success. At least, there should be a balancing between weather and freedom.

To me, real freedom is being able to have some sort of control over my time, life and every other things.
It means being able to walk away from situations that exhaust me and also threaten my peace of mind without having to feel that I will lose everything. At least, I should be able to enjoy the things I work for.
At the end of the day, I should be the one controlling money and not the other way.

There are things that money, I mean lots of money cannot buy, so I don't have to work till I break down, and I have to use the same money I was chasing to make up for the things I sacrificed.

The aim is not to remain poor, but to have enough money to live with dignity, have enough control to over every situations without having to lose myself in the process.

thanks for stopping !

Have you ever tasted a food combination, and you start questioning yourself right from the very first spoon or bite on why you tried it?

Well, I have tried it, you know sometimes, curiosity can make you try something you will avoid on a normal day. But in my own case, it wasn't curiosity, it was another human who offered me that weird food combo. So I want to talk about the food combination I have tried and would never try it again.

It's plain Rice and Melon soup.

Image link:
https://www.facebook.com/100064705220554/posts/1468642025302624/?app=fbl(not mine)

The thing is, rice is a staple food for Nigerian homes, and all my life as a Nigerian, I had only paired plain rice with Tomatoes stew, egg sauce, pepper soup and chicken curry sauce.

But on that particular day, I decided to try rice with melon soup, and oh! My taste buds and I didn't reach an agreement. I have only known that melon soup can only be paired with swallow and not with rice.

My friends find it funny that someone could have a problem with that combo, because to them, it's very normal and delicious.

But that's the thing about food, what tastes so good for someone might be a problem to another.

I'm not saying that anyone who enjoys plain rice with Melon soup is eating a wrong food, the thing is that, that combo isn't for me, I have tried it once, and I won't try it again.I'd rather stick to the pairs I know.I should not be experimenting with my plate of food.

After all, there are food combos I can enjoy without forcing myself to agree with every combo I come across.

And for someone like me who is a picky eater, if I try a combination and my taste buds doesn't agree with the taste, I will never try it again.

It's so fun to discover new things in hive Blockchain.
All thanks to the organizers of this contest.
The other time, I discovered splinterlands, and this week?
It's hivessuite games.
It's really amazing. So, when I read in the contest post that it doesn't matter if you're not a gamer, curiosity made me click on the link to the hive suite games, and oh..I was wowed.

I saw a whole lot of games, and some of them that caught my attention are those regular games I have been playing in other game sites. The likes of ludo, word grid, color sort, snake game, and Tetris. But among all of the games, the one that really caught my attention was Tetris.
It's one of my favourite games.

Whenever I want to challenge the level of how fast I can think before acting, I play Tetris. I don't play it just for the fun of it.
I feel that you don't need much to play most of the hive suite games.

Like Tetris, all you need to do is to arrange the falling blocks to form a complete horizontal lines.
All it needs is your attention and fast thinking. You position the blocks before you even think of filling the remaining spaces. And each of the lines you complete without gaps disappears, which shows that you're making progress.

The game will end when the blocks pile up and there's no space for the new ones to come in.You can choose from easy, medium or hard, depending on what you want.

And, the developers of that game has made it super easy to play.
There are arrows that guide you, and they even have indicator to show you where your block can fit in, while it's still coming from the top of your screen.
Yeah.. it's that easy.

After trying some of the games, I would say that, the games in hive suite are recommendable, but when you want to test how fast you can think, I recommend Tetris.
Meanwhile, this isn't the only game I will be playing, I'll also explore other games I haven't played before. I love trying new things.

Thanks for stopping by!

I will be answering the first question which says;
1️⃣ If ever the Ladies of Hive community organize a lavish Masquerade meetup, what historical figure, accomplished author/artist, or fictional character will you dress as to attend this imaginary event, and why?

I read an article some times ago, and it talked about Queen Amina of Zaria.
So, when I saw the topic for this week's contest, I quickly imagined myself in a female warrior costume.

Someone might be tempted to ask, what is it about 'This Queen Amina'?

Well,She was one of the African's legendary and ruthless female warriors from the northern part of Nigeria, who had achieved so much before she died in a war.
After reading about all what she achieved while ruling. I must say that she was such a brave woman.

Why would I want to dress like her?

Well, I'd dress like her not with the intention of good for a war, but to reverence a brave woman who led thousands of men to war and won.I still feel that her history isn't told enough to the younger generations, because the part of Nigeria she came from believes so much in child marriage. She became a queen at the age of 16.

Infact, history has it that she wasn't interested in marriage, she made sure that she killed any man she ever allowed into her bed the following morning. That's how ruthless she was.

In a society where women were seen as weak, She wielded such power. To me, she defeated patriachy. She showed that Leadership has to nothing to do with gender, but everything to do with courage.

Thanks for stopping by!
