Sometimes we swallow up words to keep peace, sometimes it could be fear or our pride that hinders us from speaking out. We bottle them deep in our hearts and believe they'll die off naturally with time. Unfortunately, some don't. Sometimes they echo down the line and haunt a beautiful relationship or destroy a connection that has lasted for years.

I heard of a father who was so hard on his son. He never acknowledged or appreciated him for whatever he did, afraid that his son might grow up to be a mediocre who is satisfied with little. According to his style of training, he was raising his child to aim for the best, yet never told him how proud he was no matter the effort he put in to make his father proud. Deep down his dad was proud of him but never mentioned it, and on the other hand was the son who sacrificed every one of his dreams to make his father proud.

Even in the son's excellence, he spoke ill of him. The boy grew up with the childhood programming that he was never enough. He held pain, resentment, anger, and bitterness as he grew older. This bitterness targeted the very man who never made him feel the joy of fatherhood. Pride suddenly took over his dad, unable to say those words he had held back for years. Eventually, they became like cats and dogs, living like two strangers.

This is not about just words of encouragement, but about regret, forgiveness, vulnerability, and the complexity of human communication. We hold back conversations that could free either you or the other party, but because of pride or an attempt to maintain peace, when in truth, that conversation could have been the healing factor or one that clears misconceptions. From the prompt, here are a few things to take notice of: it's simply to chase clout, and one is in desperate need. First, it mentions nothing about dishonor, only that their intentions were not true. Over the years, I have seen several charities being publicized on social media and television stations, and one common act is the photoshoots and the vivid identification of the organization or individual providing the charity. There is often backlash from viewers and followers, arguing that charity should be done in secrecy, and when a prominent person never does public charity, viewers again drag them for not helping the needy.

But with how fast profits are made from followers and the visibility one gets from being idolized for kindness, a lot of people have joined the fold, not with good intentions, but to portray an act that only gets them the likes and profit they desire. While they expand, they meet people who are vulnerable and in desperate need, and the only thing these people see is a means to their survival, not the clout that follows with it. To be honest, one in desperate need doesn't care if it's to chase clout or not; they only see a means to their end. What a hungry man needs at any moment is food, and he does not account for what happens after his needs are met. What one in financial debt needs is money; the aftermath of solving such need does not bother him much, especially if dishonor isn't in the picture.

Personally, whatever is offered to me for clout's sake in my desperate need, I'll accept it. While they keep chasing their clout, I have answers to my need. While a lot of people may see it as selling myself out for bread, I see it as a business transaction: trading your clout-chasing for my need. Because either way, there are still people who would satisfy that need while I sit here holding onto the burden of my need. In business, one trades something to get what he needs. Treating it as a business might just save me the pain of humiliation. As long as there is no hidden form of dishonor, then let's both win in our little spaces. I may not be in that state forever; needs don't come often, but clout-chasing stays for a very long time and sometimes becomes irrelevant over the years.

Would I feel hurt when I realize the act of kindness was to chase clout? Definitely. Would I accept it anyway? Definitely. Would I feel regret afterwards? Never. Would I be happy I did? Definitely. It all comes down to profit—what we all stand to gain or lose when we accept or reject it. A man in need sometimes has no shame, especially if it doesn't hurt his ego in any way. Accepting charity isn't a crime; everyone needs help. No one has ever judged anyone for accepting charity, and it doesn't change all of a sudden, because we all know that everyone is going through something and needs a little kindness from others. Their intentions are theirs to worry about, and my needs are mine to worry about. When it becomes a business, we trade both to meet an end.

[Movie] Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie is a masterpiece when it comes to outlining persistence in love, memories , and regrets. It was directed by Michael Gordry and written by Charles Kaufman. The movie blends scifi, psychology, and romance. The movie leaves you with thought-provoking questions about love and memory, wondering if we are defined by our memories, or are doomed to make the same mistake if we forget our past mistakes.

The story follows Joel, a quiet, introverted man who discovered that his free spirited and impulsive ex girlfriend Clementine had undergone an experimental medical procedure to erase every of his memories in her head. When he learned of it, feeling betrayed and devastated, he decided to undergo same procedure to erase every of his memories about her. But when the technician map and mismantled his memory in reverse chronological order, starting from his bittered past to moments of happiness, Joel experienced a change of heart, Trapped inside his own collapsing subconscious, he desperately tries to hide Clementine in corners of his mind where the procedure can't reach them.

The central message of the movie is that one can not selectively edit out a heartbreak of a relationship without stripping out the profound joyful moments that came with it. By skipping the pain, it only meant Joel and Clementine would also lose out in the beautiful moment they shared. Despite wiping their memories, Joel and Clementine are instinctively drawn to each other at a train station. Showing that certain connection transcend memory a logic.

The movie however, succeed because of the inspiring casting and the chemistry between Joel and Clementine. Joel delivered a profoundly vulnerable, understated dramatic performance. Joel's quiet melancholy, insecurity, and desperate yearning to hold onto fading warmth anchor the film's emotional weight while Clementine is vibrant , erratic and impulsive and independent which was defined by changing of her hair color,mirroring her emotional state.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is brilliant because it refuses to romanticize love as an easy fairy tale. It acknowledges that relationships are difficult, fragile, and often painful, but argues that the risk is entirely worth it. It is endlessly rewatchable, emotionally devastating, and fiercely original.

I was scammed a few years ago, precisely in December 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It wasn't an internet scam—I was more cautious about that. It was one that happened physically and probably with some charm added to it. I had always told myself I was wise enough to notice when whatever I was dealing with was a scam, but unfortunately I was wrong. Just when I felt I knew it all, came the surprise of my life, and this only made me wiser and more cautious when dealing with men of cunning words and deceptive tongues.

After our regular yearly reunion with old colleagues from college, I decided to call at a friend's place with the plan of celebrating the new year there. It was dusk when I arrived, and she directed me to meet her at her workplace, which I did. She entertained me with food and later gave me the key to her room to go rest while she stayed back until her closing hour, then met me at home. Unfortunately, I got lost trying to locate the house I'd visited before. I entered the same compound twice, but due to the nature of the compound, I had doubts and decided to trace the house from a church I once attended while I was there. I felt it was the easiest way to locate the house, not knowing I was leading myself to a place of slaughter.

Immediately upon arriving at the church, I got even more confused because it was already dark. While still trying to figure my way, a man approached me asking for directions, and I sincerely told him I was new and did not know the place. Almost immediately, while we were still talking, another man passed by and claimed to know the place, pointing in a direction. The man took a step as if leaving, then came back and called the man who had shown him the direction and started prophesying to him. Everything the man said was affirmed by the man who had given directions earlier. He turned and looked at me, then extended his hand to me for a handshake, thanking me for giving him a listening ear.

I felt something like a chill wave enter my body when he shook my hand, but I didn't care. I only told myself that whatever he did wouldn't have an effect on me. I was about to leave when he started prophesying to me too. Unfortunately, nothing was relatable except a few things from random guesses. Then he walked a few metres away, acting as if he was going in the very direction the other man had shown him. When I was about to leave, the man standing with me suggested we follow that man, affirming that everything he had prophesied to him was right and telling me he may have certain words for me.

Reluctantly I accepted, and that's where I made a mistake. We followed him, and he acted as if he was surprised to see us. He started prophesying to me again, and to be honest, nothing he said made sense to me, but at that point I couldn't go back-it was as if I had no will of my own to break the chain. I followed them like a sheep being led to slaughter until we got to an isolated place. They asked me to drop whatever I was holding with them, then count a certain number of poles and return. Only then, they said, would the curse on my head be broken. I stood there reluctant to drop my items, but eventually I did. After counting the poles, I came back and realized they were gone. My bag, clothes, mobile phone, money, and even the key the girl gave to me were gone.

Right there I knew I was scammed-in a town where I was a stranger. To cut the story short, I located the girl's house at last. I didn't stay back for the new year festival, realized the scam pattern had been there for long, and it was me who wasn't informed about such a scheme. However, I became wiser when dealing with people after that incident.

Searching for Purpose: Why the Question 'Why Am I Here?' Never Leaves Me

As a child, we were taught in Sunday school that we were created for a purpose, and once we discover that purpose, it will pave the way for greatness. To be honest, discovering that purpose has been the hardest task I've ever encountered. What would have been easier with a divine voice mentioning to individuals why they were born has become a quest that takes a lifetime to unveil. Great men skilled in penmanship and leaders in various organizations have, in their knowledge, given guides to finding that purpose. I'm happy for those who have been able to use the guide to reach their purpose. For me, each and every day, I still ask God why I am here.

This question comes when I'm lost, wondering if I am spending my whole life walking the wrong path. Some months ago, when the question became a burden in my heart, I tried to sort out what I'm good at, something outside my profession, and to be honest, I didn't find any talent satisfactory enough to rely on. I am good at exposing the Bible during Bible studies, sometimes I am a singer, other times I notice people feel encouraged when I counsel them, but in all, I've not taken them seriously and don't see myself becoming one because I don't have passion in ministry, or maybe not yet.

In all, one thing that makes me ask about my existence is the circle of life. Burdened with grief over the loss of a friend who died just when he was starting life leaves me with a lot of questions, or the circle of people who grow old and seem to await their last days, some with certain impact they can boast of and others with nothing to show forth except the possessions they were able to accumulate. What are we here for, really? Be born, grow and struggle to make wealth, get married and bear children, wait for days when nothing no longer pleases us, then man's final fate? Something within me says there's more to life than this.

No doubt there's talent, purpose, and all, but I believe more in impact in any field of one's choice as the purpose rather than a purpose in one specific occupation believed to be divinely connected. It's easy to say what we love or are good at becomes the purpose. What then happens to the Pilgrim task of winning souls and dying empty from all potentials believed to have been deposited in us? I have never stopped praying for a vivid answer to why I am here, but while I wait for an answer, I'll keep making little impacts.

[Movie] Movie review (Runner 2026)

Honk is saddled with the responsibility of delivering a man who is to deliver a very vital organ that is supposed to be transplanted into a little baby, who is suffering from liver failure.

A very special organ and type that is rarely found on earth.

A liver that is worth a million dollars.
Both the donor and the recipient have the rarest blood type on the planet. It's called golden blood with just a few people possessing such blood types.

The baby only has a day to live, if this liver is not delivered on time.

Ben Bishop who happened to be in charge of the package and Honk the driver who is supposed to take Ben to the hospital are the major characters in this movie.

Chaos, as both found themselves in a dangerous situation, as a mother of a cartel also needs the same organ for her transplant.

Now it's either the little baby or the old woman.

Iggy, honk’s right hand man who was held hostage, lost his life in the process just to prove the depth of how serious these cartels need this said organ from honk and Ben.

Then a nurse who served as an informant to the cartel on the whereabouts of the organ. She also is caught up in a situation as her brother's life is at stake since he was held hostage as the surgeon that is supposed to carry out the transplant for the cartel’s mum.

The movie runners gives the full vibes of how people run all through as they are being chased, all with one motive.
Just to save a life.
In between is a full loaded action.
The use of firearms is bastardized in this movie.

I love every scene, every action and every drama in this movie.

Someone was still interested in a story of how a bird came about, even at the point of death, it's crazy right? These are the kind of things you get to see as you watch this movie.

The Boy Who Loved Building Things

Becoming an engineer was my lifelong dream. I loved being innovative and creative. I wanted to build machinery and gadgets that could meet everyday needs. As a child, we made toys from paper and sometimes added an electrical function to make them move, spin, or fly. Each time any of these gadgets were created, I looked at myself with some level of satisfaction and the little me imagined a future where I would be part of the leading engineers who made something new or redesigned something that already existed. It was for this reason I joined the science class.

Unfortunately, this dream never lived to see the light of day. While I felt being an engineer would change my life, my parents and a few family friends didn't see it that way. The word "engineering" sounded to them more like a mechanic. With laughter, one of my family friends told me I'd end up becoming a generator repairer if that's the field I wanted to go into and gave me examples of a few friends he knew. My family believed him and painted a picture of a man soaked in engine oil and diesel. For my dad, who seemed to love the idea, wasn't ready to sponsor the fee, and that's how the dream died.

I was naive at that time, just 17 years of age. Unfortunately, I couldn't fight back, and I stayed, not knowing what profession to go into. Until finally I decided to go into the medical field—a profession I never dreamed of.

Now I see engineers at their place of work and I see myself in them. Fascinated by building and fixing things, I wanted to become just like them, to either make something new or fix what was broken in a gadget that already existed. I wanted to speak the language of machines (not the binaries found in computer programming, unless it was required in the process of building), I wanted to be a contributor in the field of gadgets, nuts, and engines; however, that longing never came to pass.

Sometimes I look at my current age and I know it's too late to enroll in engineering school. But if there were still a chance to turn back the hands of time, I would have loved to become an engineer, specifically a mechanical engineer. A man who doesn't mind taking all the dirt and soaking himself with engine oil and grease. If wishes were roses, I would become a man whom machines answer to.

Hello friends.
What does it really take to say sorry? Nothing, right?

Now see how that simple word made a very notorious political thug lose his whole empire.

The movie started with 4 brothers who were supposed to help the government discovered a hidden treasure in the bush of siri lanka but it turned bloody when they discovered the treasure is a live changing treasure as they attacked the police officers that were supposed to be invigilating the act of the excavation.
Ranatunga who happened to be a migrant amidst 3 other brothers will always protect both his interests and that of his brothers not allowing anyone to raise their hands on them as the punishment for such an act is death.

A traveller uncovers the miseries of villagers as he encounters some group of thugs who shoved his food off his hand with no apology.

Little did they know that the young man standing before them could be their doom if they failed to say sorry.

Instead of sorry they kept giving referrals until it got to the final stage, Ranatunga who just ended it with the magic word “Sorry” but that had already caused damage as that was the beginning of his empire burning down.

Jaat discovered some police uniforms which happened to be female officers who went to Ranatunga’s house earlier to arrest but they rather got into trouble as they were being molested and abused.

Finding justice for these brave female officers, led into findings that made an entire community leave their dwelling place.

A precious gem was discovered in part where these poor villagers dwell so they are been forced to either evacuate or lose their lives and then all residents are forced to sign on an agreement anyone who refuses pays with his or her life.

Now it's not just the police female officers but the poor residents in these communities.

Jaat will have to restore both order and justice as even the police officers (male) have turned into watch dogs for Ranatunga paying maximum loyalty to him.

The cry of a community through the little voice of a girl on a sheet of paper got to the presidency.
There was help but the quick response was made by God as he sent a stranger to bring to light all of the evil deeds of both Ranatunga and the corrupt political leaders.

The thrilling action presented in this movie is top notch.
How people get beaten for not saying the magic word (sorry) is just overwhelming.

Just like every story that ends well, Ranatunga was brought to light on the day of his big deal and right before the eyes of the poor villagers, their nightmare was brought to an end.
