My mild opinion about AI privacy companies 😎

Recently, I have been in an endless loop of learning about how AI is trying to create this "scary" picture of your privacy and all the things that AI is bringing with it.

This post will be about some of my discoveries and maybe some discussion with some of you that had or not yet, any experience with these tools. If this is not the post for you, well, at least I warned you.

The use case?

Companies feeding on data breaches... example: https://www.serus.ai/data-breaches

Recently, I have just given a try to some of those companies that tell you "we can restore your privacy" by removing your personal data from data brokers, etc.

And note, I am not saying they don't, but trying them and reading through some of the terms and conditions, plus experimenting with them, gave me a different picture of these businesses and how they are trying to create a business out of this, plus what possible "even crazier" ventures like these might start to appear in the near future.

So, take this as my own opinion. And also that I respect people who would just like to not have to bother with some of these and find these tools helpful. Although if you are one of those persons, please think a little about how you would feel if tomorrow you stopped exercising because you just have a magic carpet that can take you anywhere you need while laying down and not having to move a finger.

Yes, your health would become a risk, indeed...

Same here, if you stop thinking about it, or trying to learn, you will become useless and easily manipulated by anyone who wishes to take advantage of it. And this happens with lots of things in life, not just AI stuff...

Also, a little disclaimer, that I am not interested in "causing a fire" about this topic, not trying to instigate anything against these companies, just putting my mild opinion about the experience I get when trying things like these.

What do these tools do?

These tools rely on your private information that you give them to search these public databases about possible information that should not be public. They then offer you services that, by law, have the power to remove that information from those public places.

So, the companies hosting the information have to simply abide by it, because the tools are just representing your wishes by means of your legally delegated authority. Aka, if you would go directly to those databases and ask the data to be removed, it would have the same effect, but now you would not have to pay anyone for that.

And again, for massive removals and sensitive information, I do believe these tools to be handy, just because, like you and me, we don't have time! Time is precious...

How effective is this over time?

The more I started looking, the more I found cases of things that are not even relevant to what caused me in the first place, trying the tool.

So, why would one like the information to be removed? Because it's relevant to something you want to keep private, right? And if it's not private anymore and never will be?

Your anonymity CAN'T just be restored like magic! If something gets known, the likelihood of it never being unknown again is like 99.9999% ... and that's because of one simple thing... we are humans, and we have memory that can't be erased by AI code or programmed things.

So, over time, things are not anonymous by nature (or statistically will have more chance to become). If you now add software tools or AI into the mix, then you have an endlessly propagating machine of knowledge that never forgets about things while it's running. And in some cases can't even be erased without major costs (like the data on this blockchain for example).

One would have to wipe out every single copy of Hive across the world and chase up every single witness, backups, etc... the costs would really need to justify such movement. And this is why one of the best deterrents of blockchain attacks is decentralisation.

Their selling point...

In these tools, what they are trying to sell you is that they can do the hard work most of us don't even know how to do, for us, while you pay them for running automatic infrastructure that does that work for you.

We humans get obviously very scared if a photo of your children that was never meant to be shared is now somewhere publicly exposed, or a particular password to some crypto account you so much hold all your portfolio. And when we find out about those things, we usually panic!

Hello, Hive friends! 💛

I hope you are all doing wonderfully. Today, in addition to showing you a beautiful type of plant, I want to share a brief reflection on the little things in life and the meaning they hold. Sometimes, we move so quickly through our daily routines that we forget to pause and observe the small gifts nature offers us. That is why I want to share a very special discovery that brought a smile to my face on my way to work.

I have passed by this spot many times, yet I had never taken a photo of this magnificent plant—in truth, I had never even stopped to look at it or truly take it in. Just look at how beautiful it is! Today, I noticed it and was left in awe of such beauty.

A mandatory stop to admire nature

Right on the street corner, the neighbors have carefully cultivated and tended to this Aloe vera plant. Seeing those beautiful yellow blossoms out in the open, in a public space, filled me with a deep sense of admiration and peace.

In our beloved Venezuela, Aloe vera is much more than just an urban decoration; It is a plant highly valued and respected for its great medicinal, aesthetic, and traditional significance. How many times have we turned to it to soothe a burn, refresh the skin, alleviate some ailment, or simply to beautify the entrance to our homes? In fact, I have one here at my house that has been by my side for 10 years. 🌿 A whole lifetime.

A bit of science: Taxonomy and interesting facts about Aloe

To enrich this green journey, I did some research into its origin and botanical classification. Here are a few fascinating facts:

Scientific name: Aloe (also known as sábila or acíbar in Spanish).
Current family: It belongs to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family (according to modern phylogenetic classifications such as APG III, 2009, which reclassified the former Asphodelaceae family). In older systems, such as the 1981 Cronquist system, it was classified within the Liliaceae family.
Diversity: There are around 525 accepted species out of more than 1,000 described worldwide.
Origin: It is a succulent plant native primarily to arid and tropical regions.

Interesting fact: My neighbors in the community do an excellent job pruning and caring for it, showing that a love for nature is contagious and helps beautify our streets. ---

This film undoubtedly touches on a profound, heartbreaking, and much-debated topic.

Vera Drake is one of those films that leaves you with more questions than answers. It's quite a slow-paced film with numerous subplots; at first, I was a bit lost, but I gradually recovered.

The wonderful performance of the main character, Imelda Staunton, as Vera Drake, deserves special mention. She portrays a humble, simple, hardworking woman with a beautiful family, although she has a somewhat strange daughter, played by Alex Kelly as Ethel Drake (Vera's daughter). This girl initially made me a little uneasy, but I gradually warmed to her personality.

Little by little, I became immersed in the story of this woman who acted out of kindness towards others, but I wondered to what extent that kindness involved an act abhorred by most of society, supported by others, and undeniably practiced by desperate women.

It's an excellent film for family reflection, set in 1950s London (the post-World War II era). What struck me most was Imelda Staunton's performance; for me, it was simply masterful. Her transformation from a cheerful, energetic woman to a broken, martyred, distraught, and powerless figure during the second half of the film is dazzling. It's a highly professional performance, full of nuance, conveying vulnerability and dignity without the need for lengthy speeches or dramatic flourishes.

It's a film that touches very sensitive chords, highlighting a harsh reality of humanity and society.

If you ask me for my perspective, I'd say that everyone is responsible for their own actions; however, there are laws that society imposes and must be respected. In a way, we can see a double standard reflected, but beyond that, I believe everything has its limits, and as members of society, we must know where to draw the line.

I am a lover of life, of every being's right to come into this world, but sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control that carry significant weight and should be taken into account. However, this doesn't mean we should disregard the responsibility that both men and women have when exercising our sexuality. Responsibility must always be a part of our lives, and above all, we must accept the consequences of each of our actions.

In short, I always advocate for the right to life and for the duty to act responsibly.

Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to play Holo Swarm.

Basically, here is what you need to do when starting the game:

Choose a healer and a Holozing creature.
Then, survive the waves of enemies.
You are responsible for: moving, dashing (dodging), healing, and gathering.
Your creature attacks automatically.

To start playing, I’ve chosen my healer and my creature:

1. Selected creature: Wrackoo

Type: Grass.
Starting level: Level 1 (Lv 1).
Starting stats:
Health (HP): 209
Attack (ATK): 93
Agility (AGI): 92
Defense (DEF): 90
Main attack: Bullet Seed.

2. Healer: Fern

Level: Level 1 (Lv 1).
Mana: 100 mana, with a regeneration rate of 2.6 per second (2.6/s).
Equipment: None for now, but I have 1 chest available to open. ---

3. Map and Run Objective

Map: Proving Grounds – the only one unlocked so far. It’s an open field, perfect for learning how to dodge, heal, and gather resources.

My First Impression of in Hive Town:🧟🎃 [ENG/ESP]

Hello to everyone in this lovely community! On the recommendation of some friends, I decided to check out Hive Town. I’ve also seen several posts about these minigames, so I didn’t want to miss out! Hahaha.

For now, I’ll focus solely on the minigames; I’ll provide a more comprehensive update later on.

Alright, let’s get started! First, head over to rozioogames.com, log in, and you’ll be taken to the main screen.

Here, you’ll find a small, interactive town where you can explore, engage with content from various creators, and play action-packed minigames.

You can move around using the W A S D keys or the arrow keys, or simply by clicking on your desired destination. Press the E key to enter different areas or interact with nearby objects.

💥 Minigames 💥

1. Zombie Arena

This is a first-person shooter (FPS) minigame designed to test your aim, reaction speed, and reflexes.

Objective: Survive against the zombies that appear and advance toward you. Simply shoot them; a headshot will kill them instantly. Each round lasts only 60 seconds, and every kill is worth 1 point.
Game Controls:
- Aim: Move your mouse cursor to control the weapon on screen.
- Shoot: Left-click the mouse (or tap the screen if playing on a mobile device).
- Pause: Press the P or Esc key to pause the game or return to the town menu.
Leaderboard: There is a dedicated ranking system where you can compete against your own personal bests and those of other players in the community. I managed to take down 63 zombies—not bad at all!

💬 Personal Opinion: I don’t usually play shooter-style games—I’m just not that good at them, haha—but this one is actually quite entertaining. The best part is that you can keep trying as many times as you like until you set a great record.

2.- Dark Ruins

This is an adventure and combat game where you enter ancient ruins to defeat monsters.

Objective: Clear all 4 rooms by eliminating every enemy (spiders, skeletons, and mummies) until you defeat the final boss (I still haven't managed to beat the mummy! :c).
Game Controls:
- Movement: W, A, S, D keys or the arrow keys.
- Basic Attack (Arrow): Aim with the mouse and fire using a left-click.
- Triple Shot: Q key or right-click (fires 3 arrows in a fan pattern).
- Dodge: Spacebar Space (allows you to move quickly to avoid attacks).

💬 Personal Opinion: This game is also quite good. I found it a bit short, as the first 3 stages are simple, but stage 4 gets really tough, haha! I haven't played it much, but perhaps with a bit of practice, I’ll be able to defeat the final boss.

3.- Halloween Defense

This game is simple: defend the town's main square from hordes of creatures.

The insect in the image is a blue-green shield bug or striped-belly stink bug belonging to the genus Edessa (most likely Edessa rufomarginata or a related species). It is a hemipteran belonging to the family Pentatomidae.

A while ago, I shared a very nice one in this Hive community that was blue underneath; this one is orange.

It is characterized by its bright blue-green back, orange or reddish antennae and legs, and a yellow or orange ventral abdomen with marked dark transverse stripes. It is perched on an eggplant leaf (Solanum melongena), one of the common host plants for solanaceous species. It causes damage when there is a high population.

The Fascinating (and Curious) Blue-Green Shield Bug with Orange

If you have ever walked through an orchard or a tropical garden, you have likely encountered this striking little visitor. In terms of diet, they are phytophagous insects. They use a stylet-shaped mouthpart (a sucking beak) to pierce the soft tissues of young stems, leaves, and fruits to absorb sap and nutrients. They have a strong preference for plants of the Solanaceae family, such as tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers. In small numbers, they are simply part of the garden ecosystem's rich biodiversity; however, if their populations increase significantly, they can become a pest for local crops by damaging the appearance and vitality of the fruits.

I was onboarded differently than many people here. I was already a crypto guy learning to navigate multiple blockchains. And here I met another group of people, those for whom their first contact with crypto was Hive. Hive motivates the onboarding of new members through its Proof of Brain capacity. You are rewarded for what you write. Different projects tried to create ways to connect Hive to the outer crypto world, like Hive Engine and Magi, but something is still missing from these projects. The regular user here isn't prepared to deal with popular blockchains focused on investment.

I have been here for 5 years, and during this time I have met many people. I pushed some of them quite a lot to diversify and try other blockchains. But I can't contact every single user to teach them. So that is the motivation behind this project. Do you fear stepping out and creating wallets outside the Hive ecosystem? This project is for you. Hive Tideway is a way to invest in another blockchain; in the initial test, we are using Solana. Why Solana? It is currently in the top 10 cryptocurrencies and has created multiple opportunities in DeFi. One of them is Raydium, an important and well-known platform on the blockchain where you can do swaps and participate in liquidity pools.

How does Hive Tideway work? The project has a wallet created specifically for the project on Hive and also one on the Solana blockchain. Using our dashboard at www.hivetideway.com, you can deposit HIVE. This amount will be converted into the assets needed for the SOL/USDC Standard Liquidity Pool, and the project's wallet will provide liquidity on Raydium. You can check how the investment is doing through our front end, and when you are ready to withdraw, you can get your funds back on the Hive blockchain in the form of HIVE.

The project is managed by me, and currently it is limited to just one Liquidity Pool option: SOL/USDC, which pairs a volatile crypto asset with a stablecoin. The APR varies a bit throughout the week. As I write this post, it is 14.07%. What do I get from it? I charge an administration fee of 2%, which is paid only when you deposit HIVE. During deposits and withdrawals, there are also some fees associated with converting HIVE into the assets needed and depositing them into the Liquidity Pool. For now, for any deposit above $6, I am using an exchange route to convert the funds, so the expected fee is around $0.21 + 0.2%, which is paid to the exchange. Now let's talk about risks. Well, the first one is my reputation. Most people don't know me, so how can they trust me? I have limited the test phase to just $100 per user so I can keep track of it properly. I am tracking all the money that goes in and out, as well as any issues in the system. I have spent hours on security tests to prevent manipulation of either the website or the backend code. The other risks are that Liquidity Pools are considered risky investments, especially when they involve crypto assets. SOL, despite being one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market activity, is volatile, like any other crypto asset. Also, what if Hive stops working? How would you withdraw your money? I am thinking about a Plan B for that case because the assets would still be on the Solana blockchain. One possibility would be to ask users for a Solana wallet address of their choice and use it as an alternative way to return their funds. However, this is still something I need to work out.

A few days ago I mentioned using AI to help me find Ebay auctions for Sterling silver that were underpriced. This sped up my search time considerably. Instead of spending a couple of hours looking, it took me about 20 minutes. The second lot is here!
