Greetings and blessings, my dear crafting friends. I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy, and that these days are very rewarding for you.

Today I want to share these crocheted flower bookmarks with you—I absolutely loved them.🌼🧶

This time, I wanted to crochet some large, voluminous, and nicely ruffled flowers that really stand out because of their texture. I love how the petals turned out, with that lush, full-bloom effect that gives them so much personality.

Hoy quiero compartirles estos marcalibros de flores a crochet que me encantaron.🌼🧶

Esta vez quise tejer unas flores grandes, con mucho volumen y bien arruchaditas, y que llaman la atención por su textura. Me encanta cómo quedaron los pétalos, con ese efecto de flor abundante que les da tanta personalidad.

To complement them, I crocheted some little leaves in two shades of green: one dark and one pastel green. I really like how these colors go together because they bring out the vibrant yellow of the flowers and create a beautiful contrast. These little details are what make a crocheted piece so special. 💚

And speaking of details, this time I wanted to do something different with the part we use to mark the pages. Instead of crocheting the traditional chain stitch, I made a wider strip using single crochet stitches. And I loved the result! Not only does it serve its purpose, but it also gives each bookmark a unique style and lots of personality.

I love creating these little details that bring together two of the things I enjoy most: knitting and reading.

Para complementarlas, les tejí unas hojitas en dos tonos de verde: uno oscuro y otro verde pastel. Me gusta mucho cómo se combinan estos colores porque hacen resaltar el amarillo intenso de las flores y les dan un contraste precioso. Estos pequeños detalles hacen que una pieza tejida se convierta en algo muy especial. 💚

Y hablando de detalles, esta vez quise hacer algo diferente con la parte que utilizamos para marcar las páginas. En lugar de tejer la tradicional cadeneta, hice una tira más ancha, trabajada en puntos bajos. ¡Y me encantó el resultado! No solo cumple su función, sino que también le aporta un estilo diferente y mucha personalidad a cada marcalibro.

Me encanta crear estos pequeños detalles que unen dos de las cosas que más disfruto: el tejido y la lectura.

Walking through downtown Bogotá is like immersing yourself in a city that moves at breakneck speed. It’s one of those places where countless people come and go and go about their lives, each with their own concerns, stories, and ways of making a living. And that was exactly what we wanted to discover as we wandered its streets.

We headed toward the famous Plaza de Bolívar—one of those places I wanted my family to see—but we found that a political rally was taking place, so we couldn’t get in. Oh well, these things happen when you’re out exploring! And since we weren’t about to let that ruin our outing, we decided to keep walking and see what else the area had to offer.

Caminar por el centro de Bogotá es sumergirse en una ciudad que se mueve a mil por hora. Es uno de esos lugares donde transitan y hacen vida muchísimas personas, cada una con sus afanes, sus historias y sus propias maneras de ganarse la vida. Y precisamente eso era lo que queríamos descubrir, mientras recorríamos sus calles.

Nos acercamos a la famosa Plaza de Bolívar, uno de esos lugares que quería que mi familia conociera, pero nos encontramos con que había un acto político y no fue posible ingresar. ¡Pero bueno, estas cosas pasan cuando uno sale a conocer! Y como no estábamos dispuestos a dejar que eso nos dañara el paseo, decidimos seguir caminando y descubrir qué más nos ofrecía el sector.

That’s how we ended up exploring the surrounding area, taking in the buildings, the bustling streets, and those boulevards that turn into authentic open-air markets. There, you can find practically everything: clothes, accessories, household items, toys, food, and a whole lot more.

I was really struck by that mix of activity, commerce, and everyday life that you can feel on every corner. It’s a place where the city reveals itself just as it is—with its dynamism, its contrasts, and the way people seek out opportunities and get ahead.

In the end, even though we couldn’t go inside Plaza de Bolívar, the tour was well worth it.

Así fue como terminamos recorriendo los alrededores, observando los edificios, las calles llenas de movimiento y esos bulevares que se convierten en auténticos mercados al aire libre. Allí puedes encontrar prácticamente de todo: ropa, accesorios, artículos para el hogar, juguetes, comida y un montón de cosas más.

Me llamó mucho la atención esa mezcla de movimiento, comercio y vida cotidiana que se siente en cada esquina. Es un lugar donde la ciudad se muestra tal como es, con su dinamismo, sus contrastes y esa capacidad que tiene la gente de buscar oportunidades y salir adelante.

Al final, aunque no pudimos entrar a la Plaza de Bolívar, el recorrido valió la pena.

I’m back with another post about my visit to the Botanical Garden, because I have so many beautiful photos to share from this experience that I don’t want to keep them stored on my phone. And since I love flowers so much, these beauties from the tropical greenhouse simply couldn’t go unnoticed.

Amid so many plants and corners teeming with life, I came across these flowers that look like they’re straight out of a painting. Their intense colors, unique shapes, and that special way they grow among their own leaves left me spellbound.

Vuelvo por aquí con una publicación más de mi visita al Jardín Botánico, porque tengo tantas fotos bonitas que compartir de esta experiencia que no quiero dejarlas guardadas en el celular. Y es que, como me encantan las flores, estas bellezas del tropicario no podían pasar desapercibidas.

Entre tantas plantas y rincones llenos de vida, me encontré con estas flores que parecen sacadas de una pintura. Sus colores tan intensos, sus formas particulares y esa manera tan especial de crecer entre sus propias hojas me dejaron fascinada.

These are bromeliads, a family of tropical plants known for their wide variety of shapes and colors—it looks as if someone had painted them by hand. Nature has such wonderful ways of surprising us!

I love taking the time to observe these little details, discovering the beauty in each plant, and, of course, capturing those moments in photos so I can enjoy them again later.

Sometimes, all it takes is pausing for a moment and looking closely to discover true wonders all around us. And it doesn’t end here. Very soon, I’ll share the rose garden at the Botanical Garden another spot that deserves its own post. 🌹

Estas son las bromelias, una familia de plantas tropicales que se caracteriza por su gran diversidad de formas y colores, parece como si alguien los hubiera pintado a mano. ¡La naturaleza tiene unas maneras maravillosas de sorprendernos!

Me encanta detenerme a observar estos pequeños detalles, descubrir la belleza que hay en cada planta y, por supuesto, guardar esos momentos en fotografías para volver a disfrutarlos después.

A veces, basta con detenernos un instante y mirar con atención para descubrir verdaderas maravillas a nuestro alrededor. Y esto no termina aquí. Muy pronto les comparto el rosedal del Jardín Botánico, otro rincón que merece su propia publicación. 🌹

Visit to the Bogotá Botanical Garden💚🌿🌺

During my family’s stay in Bogotá, we had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Bogotá Botanical Garden, a place that gave us some very special moments and where we enjoyed nature, the scenery, and, above all, spending time together as a family.

From the moment we began our tour, we took a leisurely stroll along its trails, admiring the plants, enjoying the green spaces, and, of course, taking plenty of photos to capture the memories of this outing.

One of the places that caught our attention the most was the Tropicario. We went in full of excitement and ended up spending a tremendous amount of time exploring its different areas—without even realizing how the hours had flown by! And that’s because this place is immense and wonderful. It features six domes or areas that represent different ecosystems and collections showcasing Colombia’s biodiversity.

Durante la estadía de mi familia en Bogotá, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar el hermoso Jardín Botánico de Bogotá, un lugar que nos regaló momentos muy especiales y donde disfrutamos de la naturaleza, de los paisajes y, sobre todo, de compartir en familia.

Desde que comenzamos nuestro recorrido, nos dedicamos a caminar tranquilamente por sus senderos, admirar las plantas, disfrutar de los espacios verdes y, por supuesto, tomarnos muchas fotos para guardar los recuerdos de este paseo.

Uno de los lugares que más nos llamó la atención fue el Tropicario. Entramos con mucha y terminamos pasando muchísimo tiempo recorriendo sus espacios, ¡sin darnos cuenta de cómo se nos fueron las horas! Y es que este lugar es inmenso y maravilloso. Cuenta con seis domos o espacios que representan diferentes ecosistemas y colecciones de la biodiversidad colombiana.

I have so many photos of everything we saw that I’ve decided to share them little by little in upcoming posts. There’s so much to show, so many details worth appreciating, and experiences I want to preserve in this little corner of my memories.

The best part was seeing the children marvel at everything before their eyes. Their expressions of wonder, their curiosity, and the joy with which they explored every corner made the visit even more special. There’s nothing quite like seeing little ones enjoy themselves, learn, and be amazed by the wonders of nature.

Without a doubt, it was an outing we enjoyed immensely and that left us with beautiful memories. This is just the beginning because I still have so much to show you about this wonderful place. I’ll be sharing every corner of our journey with you soon.💚🌿

Tengo tantas fotografías de todo lo que vimos que he decidido compartirlas poco a poco en próximas publicaciones. Hay mucho por mostrar, muchos detalles que vale la pena apreciar y experiencias que quiero conservar en este rinconcito de mis recuerdos.

Lo más bonito fue ver a los niños maravillados con todo lo que tenían frente a sus ojos. Sus caritas de asombro, su curiosidad y esa felicidad con la que descubrían cada rincón hicieron que la visita fuera todavía más especial. No hay nada como ver a los pequeños disfrutar, aprender y sorprenderse con las maravillas de la naturaleza.

Sin duda, fue un paseo que disfrutamos muchísimo y que nos dejó recuerdos hermosos. Esto apenas comienza porque todavía tengo mucho que mostrarles de este maravilloso lugar. Ya les iré compartiendo cada rincón de nuestro recorrido.💚🌿

A birthday to remember with the family🎂🍷

Greetings, dear friends of #lifestyle. I hope you’re all doing very well and enjoying good health and well-being.

While my family was staying here in Bogotá, we had the pleasure of celebrating a very special occasion: my nephew’s wife’s birthday.

I wanted it to be a lovely day. So we got right to work organizing a celebration at home, with special decorations, lots of love, and those little touches that turn a family gathering into an unforgettable moment.

I took charge of preparing some tasty treats to share. I made a quesillo, and I also put together a cheese board to nibble on and enjoy while we chatted. We bought the cake, because we couldn’t miss out on that moment of singing “Happy Birthday” and making a wish. And, of course, we couldn’t forget the drinks for the toast: some wine and a few beers that went perfectly with the celebration.

Durante la estadía de mi familia aquí en Bogotá, tuvimos la alegría de celebrar una fecha muy especial: el cumpleaños de la esposa de mi sobrino.

Quería que fuera un día bonito. Así que nos pusimos manos a la obra para organizar una celebración en casa, con una decoración especial, mucho cariño y esos pequeños detalles que hacen que una reunión familiar se convierta en un momento inolvidable.

Yo me encargué de preparar algunas cositas ricas para compartir. Hice un quesillo, y también preparé una tabla de quesos para picar y disfrutar mientras conversábamos. La torta la compramos, porque no podía faltar ese momento de cantar el cumpleaños y pedir los deseos. Y, por supuesto, tampoco podían faltar las bebidas espirituosas para brindar: un vinito y unas cervecitas que acompañaron muy bien la celebración.

It was a day full of joy, conversation, laughter, and lots of love. She was thrilled with all the gifts she received, and seeing her enjoy herself so much was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful things about the day.

I’m left with the satisfaction of having given her a special day and the joy of adding another beautiful memory to our family history, because happiness is also found in these small yet meaningful things: getting together, celebrating life, and enjoying the joy of being together.

Fue un día lleno de alegría, conversaciones, risas y mucho cariño. Ella estaba feliz con todos los regalos que recibió, y verla disfrutar tanto fue, sin duda, una de las cosas más bonitas del día.

Me queda la satisfacción de haberle regalado un día especial y con la alegría de sumar otro recuerdo bonito a nuestra historia familiar, pues la felicidad también está en estas pequeñas grandes cosas: reunirnos, celebrar la vida y disfrutar de la dicha de estar juntos.

Coasters with a beautiful, colorful pattern ☕💛💚

This long weekend, taking advantage of the holiday on Monday, I decided to set aside some time for those little projects I’d been putting off—the ones I kept putting off one thing or another.

Today, I decided to knit this beautiful coaster using a lovely stitch known as the interlocking block stitch. I love discovering stitches that give pieces a special texture and that, with a pretty color combination, turn into projects full of charm.

Este fin de semana largo, aprovechando el lunes festivo, decidí dedicar un tiempo a esas cositas que tenía pendientes y que, entre una cosa y otra, iba dejando para después.

Hoy, me animé a tejer este hermoso posatazas con una trama preciosa conocida como punto bloque entrelazado. Me encanta descubrir puntos que le dan una textura especial a las piezas y que, con una bonita combinación de colores, se convierten en proyectos llenos de encanto.

For this coaster, I chose four eye-catching, vibrant colors: yellow, pastel green, emerald green, and ecru. It’s a combination that, ever since I started working on it, has made me fall in love with it more and more with each round. I find that often, simply choosing the right colors is enough to transform a simple piece into something truly beautiful.

Amid the threads, stitches, and weaves, it gradually took shape until it became this coaster that has me enchanted with its cheerful colors and interwoven pattern—one that invites me to start each morning with a smile and a good cup of coffee.

Para este posatazas escogí cuatro colores llamativos y vibrantes: amarillo, verde pastel, verde esmeralda y crudo. Una combinación que, desde que comencé a trabajarla, me fue enamorando vuelta tras vuelta. Me parece que muchas veces basta con elegir los colores adecuados para que una pieza sencilla se transforme en algo realmente bonito.

Entre hilos, puntos y tramas, poco a poco fue tomando forma hasta convertirse en este posatazas que me tiene encantada con sus colores alegres y su trama entrelazada y que me invita a comenzar cada mañana con una sonrisa y una buena taza de café.

Greetings, dear friends of #lifestyle. I hope you’re all doing very well and enjoying good health and well-being.

One of the things I’m already starting to miss from when my family was here in Bogotá is our spontaneous afternoon outings. We’d simply go for a walk and let the city surprise us.

Walking around Bogotá is something we do often, but doing it with them had a special charm. Seeing them discover every nook and cranny, stop to observe things that go unnoticed by us, and be amazed by the skyscrapers, the size of the succulents, or the lush greenery of the trees really touched my heart. It was like seeing the city through new eyes again, through their wonder and curiosity.

Mateo, the youngest, became friends with every “Doctor Simi” he came across along the way. For those who don’t know him, he’s a friendly advertising mascot who’s usually standing at the doors of Dr. Simi drugstores, inviting people to come in. He couldn’t walk past one without saying hello!

Una de las cosas que ya estoy empezando a extrañar de cuando tuve a mi familia aquí en Bogotá son nuestras salidas sin plan por las tardes. Simplemente, salíamos a caminar y dejábamos que la ciudad nos sorprendiera.

Caminar por Bogotá es algo que hacemos frecuentemente, pero hacerlo con ellos tuvo un encanto especial. Verlos descubrir cada rincón, detenerse a observar cosas que para nosotros pasan desapercibidas y sorprenderse con los rascacielos, el tamaño de las suculentas o el verdor de los árboles me enternecía muchísimo. Era como volver a mirar la ciudad con ojos nuevos, a través de su asombro y curiosidad.

Mateo, el más pequeño, se hizo amigo de todos los Doctor Simi que encontraba en el camino. Para quienes no lo conocen, es un simpático personaje publicitario que suele estar en las puertas de las droguerías Dr. Simi, invitando a las personas a entrar. ¡No podía pasar frente a uno sin saludarlo!

So, amid walks, conversations, laughter, and little discoveries, we explored the city many times, without itineraries or grand plans. And I think that’s exactly where the magic of those moments lay.

I know they took home beautiful memories of Bogotá. For me, what remains is the longing to walk through those same places again and remember that just a few days ago, those very same paths were filled with their voices, their laughter, and their company.

Así, entre caminatas, conversaciones, risas y pequeños descubrimientos, recorrimos muchas veces la ciudad, sin itinerarios ni grandes planes. Y creo que precisamente ahí estuvo la magia de esos momentos.

Sé que para ellos quedaron recuerdos bonitos de Bogotá. A mí me queda la nostalgia de volver a caminar por los mismos lugares y recordar que hace apenas unos días esos mismos caminos estaban llenos de sus voces, sus risas y su compañía.

Jute Basket: A workshop for my artisan friends💚

Greetings, my dear creative friends. I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying abundant blessings of health and well-being.

Yesterday, I was finally able to hold the workshop I’d been so excited to plan for my artisan friends back on August 10. That day, we had everything ready to get together, share, and create together, but something happened that changed our plans: the earthquake that shook Colombia, forcing us to cancel the event. Almost two months later, the time had finally come to get together and enjoy that special time we’d been looking forward to.

I was really looking forward to teaching them how to make a little woven jute basket. I wanted them not only to spark their creativity and take home a beautiful ornament they’d made themselves, but also to experience something I consider very valuable in crafts: the benefits of patience and concentration.

Ayer, por fin, pude realizar el taller que había planificado con tanta ilusión para mis amigas artesanas el pasado 10 de agosto. Ese día teníamos todo preparado para encontrarnos, compartir y crear juntas, pero ocurrió algo que cambió nuestros planes: el terremoto que sacudió a Colombia y que nos llevó a suspender la actividad. Casi dos meses después, finalmente llegó el momento de reunirnos y disfrutar de ese espacio que teníamos pendiente.

Me hacía mucha ilusión enseñarles a elaborar una cestita tejida con yute. Quería que, además de despertar su creatividad y llevarse a casa un bonito adorno hecho por ellas mismas, pudieran experimentar algo que considero muy valioso en las manualidades: los beneficios de la paciencia y la concentración.

The little basket we made is very simple; it uses materials that are easy to find and can become a cute decorative touch for any corner of the house. I’m sharing the materials and step-by-step instructions so you’ll feel inspired to make one, too.

Materials

• Paper cups.
• Jute.
• Scissors.
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks.
• Pipe cleaners.
• A small bouquet of artificial flowers and foliage to fill the basket.

La cestita que hicimos es muy sencilla, se utilizan materiales fáciles de conseguir y puede convertirse en un lindo detalle decorativo para cualquier rincón de la casa. Les comparto los materiales y el paso a paso para que también se animen a realizarla.

Materiales

• Vasos de papel.
• Yute.
• Tijeras.
• Pistola de silicona y barras de silicona.
• Limpiapipas.
• Un ramito de flores y follaje artificial para rellenar la cestita.

Step by Step

We line the base of the cup.
We start by wrapping the jute around the base of the paper cup, securing it with silicone glue so it stays firm and is well covered. This part will serve as the starting point for our weaving.
Prepare the cup.
Using scissors, make vertical cuts from the top edge down, leaving the lined base intact. It’s important to have an odd number of strips so we can weave them together, alternating the jute correctly.

Greetings, dear friends of #lifestyle. I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy.

This weekend we visited the Santa Fe Shopping Center, and while we were there, we came across something truly wonderful: a beautiful flower carpet that’s part of the “Jardín del Encanto” floral exhibition, which you can enjoy through October 11, 2026.

I must confess that, as a flower lover, it was impossible to walk right by it. We stayed there for quite a while admiring that beauty, which to me is a true work of art made with flowers.

Este fin de semana visitamos el Centro Comercial Santa Fe y, entre una cosa y otra, nos encontramos con una verdadera maravilla: un hermoso tapete de flores que hace parte de la exhibición floral Jardín del Encanto, que se puede disfrutar hasta el 11 de octubre de 2026.

Debo confesar que, como amante de las flores, fue imposible pasar de largo. Nos quedamos un buen rato contemplando aquella belleza, que para mí parecía es una verdadera obra de arte hecha con flores.

The colors are, without a doubt, the stars of the show. There’s so much variety, so many details, and such a beautiful combination that you don’t know where to look first. Every part of the rug invites you to pause and take a closer look.

Of course, we couldn’t pass up the chance to take some photos and capture that moment as a lovely memory. I love these little encounters with beauty that pop up unexpectedly during a walk.💐

Los colores son, sin duda, los grandes protagonistas. Hay tanta variedad, tantos detalles y una combinación tan bonita que uno no sabe hacia dónde mirar primero. Cada parte del tapete invita a detenerse y observar un poquito más.

Por supuesto, no podíamos dejar pasar la oportunidad de tomarnos unas fotos y guardar ese momento como un bonito recuerdo. Me encantan estos pequeños encuentros con la belleza que aparecen de manera inesperada durante una salida a pasear. 🌷💐

A stroll through Chía: A peaceful place just a few Kilometers from Bogotá

This past Sunday, we decided to take a different kind of getaway—one that didn’t require much planning or traveling long distances to be a great outing. This time, our destination was Chía, a municipality in Cundinamarca located very close by, just north of Bogotá.

Instead of driving, we ventured out by bus—or “flota,” as they say around here. We headed north on the highway, and almost without realizing it, we left the hustle and bustle of Bogotá behind to find ourselves in the peaceful landscape of the savanna.

From the moment we arrived, I really liked Chía. It’s a small town, with lots of greenery and that peaceful atmosphere you find in towns and cities where you can still walk around without feeling like everything is moving at a breakneck pace. There aren’t as many skyscrapers or that constant hustle and bustle of the big city, and I think that’s precisely part of its charm.

Este domingo pasado decidimos hacer una escapadita diferente, sin mucha planificación ni grandes distancias para convertirse en un buen plan. Esta vez nuestro destino fue Chía, un municipio de Cundinamarca ubicado muy cerca, al norte de Bogotá.

En lugar de irnos en carro, nos aventuramos en bus, o “flota”, como dicen por aquí. Tomamos carretera hacia el norte y, casi sin darnos cuenta, fuimos dejando atrás el movimiento de Bogotá para encontrarnos con el paisaje más tranquilo de la sabana.

Desde que llegamos, Chía me gustó mucho. Es una ciudad pequeña, con mucho verde y ese aire tranquilo que tienen los pueblos y las ciudades donde todavía se puede caminar sin sentir que todo va a mil por hora. No hay tantos rascacielos ni ese movimiento constante de la gran ciudad, y creo que justamente ahí está parte de su encanto.

As we walked through its streets, I thought it might be a very pleasant place to live: enjoying the tranquility, having green spaces, and, when you want a little more action, knowing that Bogotá is very close by.

We visited the central plaza, toured the church, walked around for a while, had lunch, had a snack, and simply enjoyed being together and doing something different on a typical Sunday.

Before nightfall, we headed back, again by bus. Interestingly, the return trip felt shorter, although upon arriving in Bogotá we ran into the inevitable little traffic jam at the city entrance.

It was a short, simple trip without any grand expectations. Sometimes you don’t have to go very far to discover a new place and treat yourself to a different kind of Sunday.

Mientras recorríamos sus calles pensaba que podría ser un lugar muy agradable para vivir: disfrutar de la tranquilidad, tener espacios verdes y, cuando uno quiera un poco más de movimiento, saber que Bogotá está muy cerca.

Visitamos la plaza central, conocimos la iglesia, caminamos un rato, almorzamos, merendamos y simplemente disfrutamos de estar juntos y de hacer algo diferente un domingo cualquiera.

Antes de que cayera la noche emprendimos el regreso, nuevamente en bus. Curiosamente, sentí que el camino de vuelta fue más rápido, aunque al llegar a Bogotá nos encontramos con el inevitable tranconcito de entrada.

Fue un viaje corto, sencillo y sin mayores pretensiones. A veces no hace falta ir muy lejos para descubrir un lugar nuevo y regalarse un domingo diferente.
