My Actifit Report Card: October 19 2026

Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi should be a happy man now. His fledging team has finally recorded a win. It is not just a win - it is their first Premier League win of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Coventry City at home by (3-1) to move off the bottom of the table. It was a big relief for them really.

James Maddison who haven't started a match for them since April 27, 2025 having recovered from his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL),
got the home team roaring in the 14th minute of the game with a perfect timed goal.

But Coventry City responded through Jack Rudoni to send jitter ls down the spins of Spurs fans when he scored few minutes after the restart of hostilities in the second half at about 49 minutes.

Spurs however held on and scored two more goals to put the game well beyond Coventry City. It ended (3-1) in favour of Tottenham Hotspur.

The problem of Manchester United do not appear to be over soonest as it was highlighted once again at Elland Road against a resilient Leeds United.

Having taken a one goal lead against their city rivals through Bryan Mbeumo United could not hold on to the slim win until Calvert Lewin popped up and got the equalizer to the consternation of United players.

It meant therefore that Manchester United who are 13th in the table, have gone six games without a win in all competitions for the first time since the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

And for Leeds United, they remain unbeaten at home in all competitions since March - and sit three points above Carrick's United who are in seventh.

Shadow Hunters/SMASh Contest Round 448

This is my entry into the Shadow Hunters Community Contest Round 448. Thanks to @melinda010100 for hosting this wonderful contest.

More sun, less rain. That's the order of the day now. But how long will it last? Well, we are still in the rainy season down here so the heavens may open up at any time too.

For now however, we are experiencing some good amount of sunshinea and am grateful to God for that.

The bus stops and walkaways within the city centre are now having some decent facelift from the government. That's what I've been seeing recently.

The image here is gotten by me from one of the bus stops within town and the walkway leading to it. A nice shadows were forming from tht iron bars placed along the walkways. Those are stunning shadows really.

And with that, I conclude my hunt for this round of contest.

My Actifit Report Card: October 17 2026

It was a day to forget for Brentford as they played host to Liverpool in the EPL. Having led by (1-0) in the first half a string of red cards which brought them to 9-men swung the game in favour of the visitors as they conceded two goals to lose by (2-1).

Keith Andrews men who had not lost prior to the game had to lose at their home ground - Gtech Community Stadium.

At Craven Cottage Fulham secured a crucial (1-0) victory over high flying Hull City with Alex Iwobi's 33rd-minute strike the difference on the day. That victory became Fulham's first Premier League victory this season.

I saved this for thr last. All hail king Enzo Maresca!!! Maresca led Manchester City defeated Ipswich Town (3-2) at the Etihad stadium to make it seven straight wins at the start of a Premier League season for the first time in the club's history.

Phil Foden opened the scoring while Erling Haaland scored the remaining two goals to set up the historical moment for Maresca. Kudos to them.

My Actifit Report Card: October 15 2026

The Eagles, Crystal Palace were beaten by Lyon in France in the Eagles' first ever away match in the Europa League. They lost (3-2) on the night.

At the Red Bull Arena in Austria, Ruben Amorim guided AC Milan to a (4-0) over RB Salzburg. Even though AC Milan ended the game with 10-men following the dismissal of Filippo Terracciano in the 83' minutes, they held on to win the game. A. Cisse grabbed a hat trick on the day for AC Milan.

Finally, at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Portugal, Noah Sadiki's 93rd-minute winner helped Sunderland overcome a stubborn Portugal's second tier team called Torreense by (2-1).

The Black Cats thus continued their perfect record in the Europa League with that come-from-behind victory at Torreense.

The Black Cats were playing their first away match in a European campaign in 53 years, having beaten AZ Alkmaar (1-0) at home in their Europa League opener last month.

They still have matches against AC Milan and Aderlecht to come.

My Actifit Report Card: October 14 2026

It was a fine game for Liverpool vs LASK as they crushed the Austrian side by (3-6) in the UEFA Champions League game.

The Reds new boy Bradley Barcola scored a hat-trick on the night as Liverpool eased past LASK in a Champions League game that produced a stunning nine goals.

Those goals marked Barcola's first set of goals for Liverpool since he joined them from PSG for a whooping £123m in the summer.

Barcola who had failed to score or assist in any of his first six games for Liverpool went on a rampage and scored three on the day.

It was a total carnage at Villa Park as Aston Villa routed Fenerbahce to secure their first home win of the season with a dominant display in the Champions League. Ross Barkley and Nicolas Jackson scored two goals apeice on the night.

Meanwhile, PSG stunned Enzo Maresca's side Manchester City by (4-2) at the Etihad Stadium. Former City manager Pep Guardiola was watching from the stands as his former side suffered a humiliating night in the hands of the cup holders.

My Actifit Report Card: October 13 2026

It was a night to forget for Manchester United in Spain at the Atletico Madrid's Riyadh Air Metropolitano. There was little positives from the fans having seen their darling team squander and surrendered a (1-0) lead to Tottenham Hotspurs few days ago in the league. Athletico Madrid posed a superior opponent that Spurs. So fans never believed their team could do wonders.

Manchester United ultimately lost the game by (2-0). With Nigerian born striker Ademola Lookman sealing the hosts' victory in the 79th minute.

United by that loss became the first English side to lose in the Champions League this season.

United have now gone five games without a win.

A trying and difficult time to be a United supporter indeed.

My Actifit Report Card: October 12 2026

I think Eddie Howe saw what was coming before he threw in the towel. Coventry City hosted Newcastle United and it was a result that both parties never expected.

Coventry City stunned the Magpies with an emphatic (4-1) victory. That became their first win in a Premier League game at home in 25 years. The Magpies never expected such a calamitous loss.

That victory too was Coventry's second of the season and it lifts them out of the relegation zone and up to 14th where they sit level on points with my darling but misfiring Manchester United.

The win over Nottingham Forest was Coventry City first Premier League win since the 2000-01 campaign.

Matthias Jaissle's Newcastle United remain 11th with eight points from their opening six games. They will host high flying Aston Villa on Sunday.

Will the Magpies be able to overcome the loss and bounce back. Let's watch and see.

The match between Liverpool vs Manchester City at Anfield was the first time City played a game after being found guilty for Premier League financial regulations.

Manchester City responded positively despite enduring some difficult moments in the game - with Liverpool fans chanting songs which reminded City of the ruling about their "cheating".

City players swamped on Liverpool picking them apart, although they were reduced to 10 men having seen Ryan Gravenberch was sent off.

Overall, it was a sweet victory for City who won month day by (3-0).

My Actifit Report Card: October 10 2026

The faces of Michael Carrick and his Spurs counterpart De Zerbi say it all. Two struggling managers trying to keep their jobs. But Man Utd, oh no!

Michael Carrick and his Manchester United have won just six points from their opening six games of the Premier League season. That's awful to say the least. Things do not look nice for United even after the international break.

The draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage before the international break was seen as a relief with fans believing that Man Utd will maybe bounce back. But alas, Manchester United have now failed to win five of their six Premier League games this season (D3 L2).

The last game against Spurs was even appalling considering the fact that Manchester United played against a 10-man Spurs and was even leading by (1-0) before Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off five minutes later for headbutting Luke Shaw. They still conceded a late goal to draw (1-1).

Maybe it’s too much of a job for Michael Carrick to shoulder. Fans can't continue to be facing these lethargic and boring matches and results.
